VS 2008 - Limiting Number CheckBoxes You May Select?
Jun 2, 2012
I am creating an application in Visual Basic '08 with four available checkboxes. Is it possible to limit the number of checkboxes you may select down to 2, and how may I go about doing this?
I'm working on a project and my boss insists I use a DataGrid for this. The grid holds information for work orders, one of the cols has a check box in it. I need the user to be able to select any number of those checkboxes/rows and then return a value to the table "stamping" that users ID. This is what I have so far to get the grids populated... I'm using 2005 with a 2000 Access Database if that helps. Though this will be changed to SQL Server once we get it working (yay more work)...
[code]...
I removed the code from the second grid to make it easier to read, obviously once I can get one to work the second shouldn't be as much trouble. This is the check box: dgvNewBiz.Columns(1).HeaderText = "Select"At this point if someone knows how to get it to recognize the click event of the check box and pass that row info to a variable that would be super as I'm sure I could probably figure it out from there.
This may sound like a silly question, but I can't seem to find an answer. Is there any way to "Check" a ListViewItem when the user selects it via property? I'm sure I can figure out how to do it in code, but I thought there was a property of the ListView. I looked through the documentation, Google, and in the properties panel, but I can't seem to figure it out
I have datagrif full of data with 3 cols, which first col is and checkbox one. I would like to check, uncheck all items in that col by the click on some button.
I have a checkbox column in my grid. Let say the name on that column is "Cut". How should I do to take the right mouse button and and get a little menu where I can choose select all or deselect all checkboxes?
But it won't select any checkboxes inside a flowlayoutpanel. Is there a way to select all checkboxes in the form or to save some lines by saying all 3 controls?
I am currently creating a program for my own use but I need some information about groupboxes. I have 3 groupboxes with each some checkboxes in them. My question is: How do i get the number of objects (checkboxes) in a groupbox. I tried looking for the index like in a listbox but it isn't part of the controls.
I need to retrieve multiple objects from an external system. The external system supports multiple simultaneous requests (i.e. threads), but it is possible to flood the external system - therefore I want to be able to retrieve multiple objects asynchronously, but I want to be able to throttle the number of simultaneous async requests. i.e. I need to retrieve 100 items, but don't want to be retrieving more than 25 of them at once. When each request of the 25 completes, I want to trigger another retrieval, and once they are all complete I want to return all of the results in the order they were requested (i.e. there is no point returning the results until the entire call is returned). Are there any recommended patterns for this sort of thing?
Dim query = (From p in Parent _ select _ p.ID, _ Tags = String.Join("|", p.Child.Select(Function(c) c.Tag.TagName).ToArray)).Take(100)
In the above query, when using Take to limit the rows returned, a separate SQL query is executed for each row to return the 'Tags' field. If I remove Take(100), a single query to sent to Sql Server. So, how do I limit the number of rows returned, while preventing a new sub query being executed for each row?
Assuming that I have a Windows Forms textbox and want to reduce the maximum amount of characters that can be allowed in via user entry, how would I do that?
How to count the total no. of asp.net checkboxes, checkboxes checked, no. of checkboxes remain unchecked in webform using vb.net ?I m using Visual studio 2008 with vb as a language ..I my webform i have 10 checkboxes...i wanna count total no. of checkboxes in webform in textboxes1 total no. of checkboxes checked in webform in textbox2 total no. of checkboxes remain unchecked in webform in textbox3?
I'm using Visual Basic 2010 express, and I can't seem to be able to figure out how to make a button_click event select all of the checkboxes in a CheckedListBox. For example, I created a checkedlistbox with about 34 entries in it, all of which can be checked. So I decided, to make it easier, I would just make a Button with "Select All" on it, but I don't know what kind of button_click event would select all of the items withing my checkedlistbox.
How to restrict user to select not more than 10 asp.net checkboxes on button click event , if user select more than 10 checkboxes then alert box will pop up that you can not select more than 10 checkboxes
I wanted to see if I could have a list of six check boxes with names of a certain author that people have or have not read. When they are asked to check all that apply to them and then hit submit I want a label to display a message depending on the number of checks they made. So if they have 2 checks marked off then a message could say, "You do not read much of this authors books?" or 5 could say " You like this author, don't you?".
i am trying to auto select the email value from a 2nd cbobox when the user selects a name from the first cbobox using the first cbobox's index. (the values all line up with each other just fine)This is my current code:
Private Sub cmbAnalyst_SelectedIndexChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles cmbAnalyst.SelectedIndexChanged theAName = cmbAnalyst.Text
I'm trying to count the number of checked checkboxes in column 5 of the table. I've tried several approaches, but none have worked so far. This is the code I've written so far. As you can see, I've managed to count the number of rows.
VB Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load dbProvider = "PROVIDER=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;" dbSource = "Data Source = C:/Databases/database.mdb" con.ConnectionString = dbProvider & dbSource
How do i limit the amount of characters in a masked textbox? I can do it in a normal textbox but not in a masked textbox because there is no option to limit the size.
I have a datagridview with checkboxes in the first column and I want to do a loop on saving the serialnumber(s) when the users decides to check a number of checkboxes Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
[Code]...
the problem with this code is that it only inserts the serial number of the LAST checked checkbox and the number of entries of it depends on the number of checked checkbox for example ... if I checked the rows with the serialnumber 123 and 55652341, first the row with the serial number 123 then second 55652341, only 55652341 appears in the database and it is entered twice(twice because two checkboxes are checked)
Is there a tool in the toolbox that i can use that replaces checkboxes. i have limited amount of space and checkboxes just keep taking up room. I need the user to select multiple objects like checking multiple checkboxes.
This update command works in updating my mysql database. Another database I have doesn't have a idnum field. I'm looking for a command to select a row number in the database. For example, update row #5. How would I modify this command?
I have not worked with VB in so long that I might as well be a newb.I know this can be done, and if I remember correctly, it is fairly simple, but for the life of me, I can't remember how.I have a textbox that will be used for entering a number.I have a combobox with a list of precreated options.I need to create the combobox as many times as the number entered in the textbox. Essentially I'm creating a list of items, the number of which is determined by the textbox value, the values of which will be chosen from the comboboxes. This means that the comboboxes all need to be linked as a group with sequential numbering.
I have 25 labels (Label1 - Label25). How can i randomly make the background of 1 label blue?I can set a random number in a variable, but I can't find out what to do next. It has to be something like this:[code]
