VS 2008 - LineShape Control - Cannot Select Text Boxes

I am facing an important problem with the LineShape control (installed with the Visual Basic Power Pack) . The problem is that in design time once I have "Sent to back" some controls (other controls, like text boxes), I can no longer select them! The controls get stuck on the form and I can't select them anymore! Even if I select those controls from the Properties window, I still can't do anything with them (like move them over the form etc). Right now I am using VS 2008. However maybe this problems doesn't appear on VS 2010?

I am trying to follow the book 'Sams teach yourself VB 2008'. It was going well until the end of hour 4. For exercise 1 I have created the form with a button and two text boxes, but cannot work out the code I need to move text between the two boxes. The Object Browser does not seem to help - am I reading it wrong?

I am writing an application that will use a OpenFileDialog control that will read a text file into memory and later process it.
I do have the following filter: Text files (*.txt)|*.txt|CSV files (*.csv)|*.csv|Spaced Text files (*.prn)|*.prn|All files (*.*)|*.*"
When I navigate to my test folder that contains a single .txt file, I see that file. When I change the filter to *.cvs that files goes disappears because it has a .txt extension. That is good. But when I select All files *.* it does not re appear? Why and how do I make it appear.

Is it possible to get all of the text boxes from a Tab control ? I just want to perform an action for all of them (i.e. change their back color).I am using this following code , but it doesn't work.[code]I have also tried to catch the name of their parent control ,but to my surprise the value is Nothing ! It is like they are not placed on a parent control.I have also tried placing the text boxes on a Panel control and then the code works fine (replacing the Tab control's name with the Panel's name) . However I need to use a tab control because I need more than one tab in order to place my controls.Just in case , let me specify that the Tab control is already place on a Panel control .

Im working on a lay-away form application, this particular part is part of the even where the user adds a new customer, and has come to the section for adding personal references to the customers account. What Im trying to do is to check all the text boxes inside the GroupBox control, and then add all the tags of the text boxes that are empty to the list. If the list holds any records it will be put into a message box to let the user know he missed this value. But I want them to list in one text box. Here is what I've tried:[code...]

In a windows forms class in Visual Basic 2008, there are several horizontal lines created with the lineshape control dragged from the toolbox. A very strange thing is happening with the horizontal lines. In the forms designer, all of the the lines (both horizontal and vertical) look fine, but when the program is executed (in debug mode), about 3 seconds after painting the screen nicely, I get echos of portions of the horizontal lines about 50px or so above my horizontal lines. I'm trying to lern VS 2010 from VB 6 and one of the things i'm hawing a problem whid is control array.In vb 6 if you create a text box it's named "Text1" and if you yust copy it and paste it it renames to "Text1(0)" and the new one's name is "Text1(0)" and the code would lock like this

then it would print for each loop the random result in one of the text boxes corresponding to i.

how to permanently save to text files then re-open all of the information again using SFD and OFD. Now my teacher has come back at me and said that i need to be able to save the information from multiple text boxes and have the text in certain labels to also be saved into the one text file (the labels need to be done because it is a database and these labels are like the fields and the right text box needs to match the right label)

So basically what I'm trying to do is write data from an XML file (a "save file") back into the form. My controls are in all different group boxes (makes it much easier for showing and hiding groups of controls dynamically). I thought about and am putting each control's Parent name into the file, but can't figure out how to get that parent name back into the DirectCast within a For...Next loop so it will actually cast the data into the control.

I'm in the middle of creating an application that will be used to input customer information whilst the customer is speaking to someone over the phone. This involves the customer giving the employee information such as name, address, postcode etc and the employee inputting that information into text boxes and combo boxes that are in the application.
What I would like to be able to do is after the customers information is given over the phone, I need to be able to send that information to a database which will probably most likely be done by button click. In this case, I'm using Microsoft Access. I'm also hoping that I can do this within Visual Basic coding.
The database is set out with multiple tables which include a customer table and a ticket table and both have multiple fields such as first name, surname in the customers table. Both of these tables are in use with the information that the customer gives over the phone.
I've already asked on other forums and people are where replying giving me third party programs that I could use to implement this, something I don't really want to do.

Im attempting to loop through all the text boxes inside of a group box, and add the text into a list box to later be written to a text file. Here is the code I am using.

I have a pop up form that contains a listbox. Right now I am telling it exactly which text boxes I want to be able to drag and drop to, but I was just told to have it drag and drop to every text box on the main form.The main form with the text boxes has a bunch of tabs on it that hold each section. Each section has text boxes, so how would I code it so they are all capable of allowing drag/drop without specifying each one separately?

I currently have my cute little first program made... I'm just stepping into the water with this programming thing. I made a program where you can select a shape from a drop-down list and then input some values and click a button and get the area of the shape. I have it working so that when a certain shape is chosen, certain fields are disabled, such as when you pick "circle" from the combo box, the "length", "width", and "number of sides" text boxes are disabled but the "radius" text box is enabled, thus allowing you to enter the radius and find the area. I want to make it so that when you first load the program, all of the text boxes for the length, width, number of sides and radius are disabled until you select a shape from the list. Currently I'm using

This works for disabling the correct boxes when something is selected, but I don't know if I'm even on the right path with that first part.

there is a tab control system. It relies on only five text boxes, and their bindings change when the tab is changed The relevant information is displayed. However, if I navigate to a different record...You can see that the same information is displayed in the tab control text boxes, and not the employee's details I just selected in the data grid or the navigation.
