Setting Text Of Label Added At Runtime?

Now, I would like to add text to one of them, but I'm not sure how. I thought by setting .Name I would simply be able to write something like lbl4.text ="A". But, of course, because the Label has not been created yet, this is not possible.
Also, I'm not even sure if .Name is working the way I think it is. I was hoping that it would name each Label consecutively: lbl1, lbl2, lbl3, lbl4...etc.
Am I naming the Labels properly? And how would I add text to one of these Labels?
Asp.net - Losing <asp:Label> Text Value From ViewState For Dynamically Added Control?
Mar 5, 2012I am adding controls to a page programatically in the code behind. I add an asp:Label and set it's Text value. I add an asp:TextBox and set it's Text value. Both Text values are returned in the Response and displayed in the browser. All fine so far.
The user performs an action that causes a postback. I re-load the dynamically added asp:Label and asp:TextBox. When the Response is returned to the browser, only the asp:TextBox Text value is displayed. The asp:Label Text value is not. If I inspect the HTML I can see the asp:Label control (rendered as an HTML span tag) but no value.
How can I get the code to automatically re-load the Text value of an asp:Label on each postback? Why is the behaviour different for an asp:Label and an asp:TextBox? I do not want to have to manually re-set the Text value on each postback.

Control Added On The Fly Is Added To The Wrong Location Of An Auto-scroll Panel?
Jun 21, 2010I have a program that adds controls on the fly to an auto-scroll panel. When the panel is scrolled (viewing the bottom of the panel for example) and a control is added, it looks like it is added assuming the top left corner of the panel is still at 0,0 when in fact it may be 0,500. To see what I am talking about, create an empty "Windows Forms Application" project and insert the below code into it.

Dynamic Added Textbox To Status Bar And Added Event
Jun 10, 2009i have multiple forms in a project and all have statusbar. there is no way to add textbox on status bar but in my previous thread i got the help to add the text box. i created a function in module so that i call that function from all the forms on load and add the textbox on status bar and also add the event on textchange. the function to be called on event change is in individual form (at present)[code]

VS 2008 Added A COM Control (ocx) In .net Program
Apr 22, 2010I am using a .net program. My program is used by few people and it at times downloads updates automatically.Recently I have added a COM control (ocx) in my .net program. Now when I run the program (with ocx in the folder) it gives an error. When I registered the ocx thru regsvr32, it worked fine. So now my program has to register the ocx. Is there any other way to do that rather than using regsvr32. The reason is the regsvr thing will work fine in Win Xp systems but in Vista/Windows 7, which has higher security, I dont know if regsvr will work ok or give an error or will run in elevated more.What should I do ? Should I stick with regsvr32 for all OS or is there an alternative.

Sep 9, 2009I've been working on a project lately, where the user can click on an item in a listbox and then get a picture in the PictureBox1. My problem is that when I added a tab control so that I could have several pages with different listboxes and pictureboxes, it stopped working! When I click on an item in ListBox1, the picture doesn't show up in PictureBox1. Why did the tab control ruin everything?

The user can drag an image and drop into the second Panel. All works fine. Now the problem is how can I know the name of the image contained in the PictureBox in the dropped Panel so that I can save it? I tried to recover in a ListBox the name of the images during the population of the first Panel but I don�t know witch may be the reference with the dropped PictureBox.

May 12, 2010Not sure if I'm posting this in the right area, but here goes anyway. I've been working with sql databases for practice, but can't seem to get around one thing; after I add it as a data source, I can't go back and add tables.
I start off by going through the project, then add item, choose the service-based database, and go from there. I add the tables, then go in and add it as a data source.
After I've added it as a data source, I can go back into the .mdf form and add lines and edit properties, but it wont update in the data sources. So, I can't add it to the form.

May 15, 2010I have a VB.Net application that connects to a SQL Server database on my web host at GoDaddy. I'm wanting to use it for a chat program so that users can add messages to the database and then everyone else gets the new messages when it re-queries the database.
The only problem is that the only way to get the new messages is to re-query the database every # seconds.
Is there any way to have my program not re-query the database until an entry is added by another user?Would the SQL.SQLNotificationRequest be used for this?

I have a procedure that sets a datatable variable called dtP equal to prpParametersTable at the beginning of the procedure. I then add three new columns to dtP.Here is my problem. When I add the three new columns to dtP my original table prpParametersTable also gets those columns added to it, why? I only want to add the three columns to dtP and not prpParametersTable. VS 2008 - Added Buttons For The Controls And Now The Database Wont Store Anything?
Dec 19, 2010I am building a program that does inventory control. I have multiple forms connected to same database. One of the forms I have a search function. When I was using the controls at the top of the page, it was working. I added buttons for the controls and now the database wont store anything. I can open the input form and I can add multiple inputs, close the form, open it back up, and nothing left in the database. I have also noticed that my database icon in the data source has a small red X in it. When I click on the icon, it is showing the db as closed. I can refresh it and it opens, until I run the program and it closes.

But now what I want to finish it, is to create a search function. Here is a picture of my Form. And what I want to add is a Listbox, TextBox and a button.
When I type: "Eye of the Tiger" in the Textbox and click the Button, All *.mp3 files in my folder, and the subfolders, with "Eye of the Tiger" in it, are added to the Listbox (The full name, like: "Survivor - Eye of the Tiger") will show at the Listbox.
