VS 2008 - Added Buttons For The Controls And Now The Database Wont Store Anything?

I am building a program that does inventory control. I have multiple forms connected to same database. One of the forms I have a search function. When I was using the controls at the top of the page, it was working. I added buttons for the controls and now the database wont store anything. I can open the input form and I can add multiple inputs, close the form, open it back up, and nothing left in the database. I have also noticed that my database icon in the data source has a small red X in it. When I click on the icon, it is showing the db as closed. I can refresh it and it opens, until I run the program and it closes.

I am creating a program which allows the user to add some buttons during runtime. Each button can be moved, sized and added to any tab on a tabcontrol. What I would really like to do is binary serialize a class that contains the properties of each button including which tab it's on.

I've a question about vb.net application with ms access 2002 database.I use "Add data source" wizard to setup a connection to a access database.my application read text file into a temp data table at runtime.a button click to import data from temp table into one of access table.problem is data is not added at all.here is the code I use to do update

I have the following code on a form named: frmRegister.The aim of this form is to add a new user to a database. However, currently the code exectures with no errors and the success MsgBox is displayed, but the user is not added to the database.I can't seem to pin point the error.[code]

i recently added a login that uses mysql database now it use to pull data from text file but as i said i made it use mysql now..it works great locally but when i sent it to a friend to test the login he got this error. unhandled exception has occurred in the your application. if you click continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to conttinue. if the click quit, the application will close immediately could not load file and assembly 'MySql.Data. version=5.1.7.0 Culture=neutral, public key token=c5687fc88969c44d' or one of its dependencies. this system cannot find the file specified.not sure what to do i was thinking about having him install the MySQL Connector net but i thought i would come here first and ask..and can someone also help me on how can i retreive data from the login part? i can get it to keep the username but for some reason i can pull the rest of the data here is the login script.[code]

My VB application is behaving strangley. I have form with fairly large number of controls. I am using case against radio buttons. after curtain number of buttons, it stops responding to more radio buttons.
Then I tried to split controls in to 2 form but now my form.showdialog() too now working properly. It takes new from names but show the old form when running.

I have a USB interface connected to my PC which is used to control DC motors (robotics). Supplied with the interface is a VB program that produces a form with text inputs (motor speed) and tick boxes (motor on/off). This program calls upon a supplied .dll for the interface. I have played around with this program and have added extra buttons to 'stop all' or 'run two motors simultaneously' etc.What I really want to do is run a sequence of events, for example:
-Motor 1 on, speed 50, run time 5 seconds
-Motor 1 off for 2 seconds
-Motor 2 on etc, etc

want to make a custom calendar. For that I made a table of 7 cols and 6 rows and added 42 buttons in it. I added an event handler. I used this file in other form and when I click at the button the event is fired in form2. I understand this is not hte efficient way to add so many buttons. As it is a calendar, so I got to add dates to buttons based on month selected.I am finding that part difficult. For this feature, I think I should add buttons dynamically. But I can't make out how to add buttons to each cell of the table. Later on each buttons text will also change. I have added the code written so far :

I need a way to store just the time only to my access database. the datetimepicker isn't working because there is no way to have a null date.I found this and it seems to be exactly what I need.When I try to convert it to vb2008 i get a few errors I can't figure out.

I understand the page lifecycle and how i need to add the dynamic controls on page_init if I want to take advantage of viewstate. Also I know that I should try to avoid dynamic controls when possible. The dynamic controls are created depending on an object that is created from custom event arguments sent from a custom treeview. Problem is I need viewstate so I need to create them in page_init but I don't have the event args to create the object that tell me what controls to add until later in the lifecycle.

How do you refer to controls that are added at runtime e.g. I can add a combobox and a handler, but trying to reference the controls name in code gives an 'not defined', error so in my example, the control is visible, but I cant populate the combo box or use it in anyway.

I am storing my connection string in my app.config file. I am using sql server express 2005. The connection string on my dev machine is different from the ones at the clients. so each time I update I open the config file and edit the connection string setting. This is quite a pain.also I have now published my app to an ftp folder so that the clients can get the updates each time I make changes. saves me the hassle of going to them each time i update. so now i need it to be so that I won't have to change the setting all the time.Would the best way be to store the connection string in a settings table in the database?

I am currently wokring on a project, which is going to serve as an interface for accessing various documentation and reports. It is basically just a tabcontrol with a few pages that will be poppulated with buttons which will open the appropriate document.I am trying to allow administrative users the ability to add new, edit or remove buttons which all seems relatiively simple, but have run into the problem of how to persist the changes once they are made. I've dynamically added 20 pictureboxes to a panel and would like to see the panel scroll when I use the mouse wheel. To implement this I have tried to set the autoscroll to true on the panel control. Here is the code.

It works for "button" control, but not for the "picturebox" or "label" controls?

I am trying to make a small control that has a picturebox and a few labels that can be dragged on the form it is placed on. The control was easy, and I can drag it fine when the mouse is down on the control, where there are no other controls, like not over the picturebox or labels.
When i try to click and drag the user-control and the mouse is on the picture box or labels of the control the mouse down event is not detected. I am hoping someone can tell me how to pass the mouse-down event from the controls on the user-control so the form I place it on detects the mouse down even no matter where on the control i click.

As i'm learning more and more about developing ive just got my head around creating classes and modules, i started wondering about something to do with configuration of applications where deployment is in a more diverse environment say in a company where different branches dont need access to all parts of a program, so i thought id throw the question out there in a basic sense and get some feedback. so i can go off and do some more reading and learning.
So the scenario in my head is like this.
So we have for arguments sake FrmConfig which is the master configuration form, then we have FrmMain which is the root menu our application general user interfaces with. So here based on what options are checked as enabled in FrmConfig effects what controls (like buttons/menu options) are enabled in FrmMain.
