I Put together this bit of code. What the problem im having is Removing a Label after i place the code its in a select end slecte code . The Problem is in red.

I'm having problems removing dynamic controls.
Here is what I'm using:

The first sub is for adding the (custom)control, the second sub is for removing the control.
The custom control is a picturebox with a checkbox in the upper-left hand corner, no big deal.
The problem is that when I click the delete command, it only deletes one ckPicture at a time, and allways the last one in the list. I'm also assuming it's doing the same thing in the list(of images). What should I do differently so that it will remove all controls that are checked?
I forgot to add the variables in my namespace.

This is my first post here as I am in the process of writing my first vb program. I just recently learned VBA and prior to that I had no programming experience. I decided that my first attempt with VB would be to convert a program that I previously wrote in VBA. It runs in an excel workbook but it doesn't actually use any excel functions so I figured it would be acceptable to convert. I am having an issue with removing controls on a userform. A commandbutton adds a line of about 6 controls. The user can add as many lines as they need to input their data. One of the 6 controls is a delete button that deletes the line of controls next to it. I have created a collection named Cashflows that holds each line of controls and each line of controls is named with a number that indexes the name to the line that it appears on in the form. In VBA I use that number to delete the actual controls from the userform and reposition and rename the remaining lines of controls.

but somehow it doesn't remove all the controls at once, I have to run the code 3 times to remove them all(there is about 20 to 30 of them, mainly labels I don't know if it matters, but the controls where added dynamically at startup...

The behavior is strange, I can't find any logic to it, it will sometime delete a part of the objects, other times it will delete other part of the objects. If I run it more than once, I can achieve the wanted result and remove all controls except the 2 I want to keep. It's as if it was checking 1 out of 2 controls.
To give you a better idea I have a combobox on the form and depending on choice it adds appropriate controls (not show/visible true) and add a second combobox to refine the search. If I change the value in the first combobox I want to remove the added controls from the previous combobox.SelectedIndexChanged as well as any control created by the following combobox from the form.

I have a lot of buttons on a form (144) that need to be removed. All their names begin with "R". So I used this piece of code.

View 1 RepliesI've got a couple of these NumericUpDown controls I put on a form. Without describing too much about the form I basically want to update some variables each time one of these NumUD controls changes value. So for each NumUD I have a call to a Recalculate subroutine within their "changedValue" event.
There are actually two problems. First, if I initialize the "Value" property to something other than zero in VB2010 at DESIGN TIME it won't even open the form when I hit RUN. It gives me a "No Source Available. No symbols loaded for any call stack frame" error. The error box says "InvalidOperationException" was not handled. So if I try to set the initial value of the Value property to anything but zero of either I get this error.

I want to remove items from a listbox 1 at a time. I have two timers set up to remove the two types of items that are put into the list box. When there is a "Player 1 killed Button 1" following a "Player 1 killed Button 2" or vise-versa they get removed at the same time. Is there any way to prevent this?

I have a form in which I add 9 labels in Run Time with .add method inside a panel. When I try to remove those labels in Run Time using For Each Loop, only 5 labels get removed. My code is given below.Code to Add Labels

When i run the loop without .remove and .dispose it alerts .Text of all Lables present inside that Panel and With .remove and .dispose it does not remove all Lables and does not alert all .Text. In other words it misses 1 after 1.
I've been building controls for many years professionally and personally, but even back in VB6 days I just could not work this out. After all this time I remembered about it again.If I create a usercontrol/containercontrol and add one or more controls to the controls surface, I just cannot figure out how to access the controls at design time.

I've read up about the Design_Time_Lock attribute, and I can see when it will and won't be generated. However I don't really understand the point of it. And- more importantly- can all instances of it be safely removed throughout the code?
I am using VB2008 express and I have created a form etc.
But any changes I make in the IDE dont appear in the run time. It seems to revert to another version at run time and I dont know how. I have tried adding new code, i tested this with a 'form load messagebox', but it does not appear. I also added a new button and resized the form but none of these changes are appearing, I really have no clue as to what is happening. I have turned of the veriosning in the project settings.

Let's say I wanted to create 3 panels(Panel1, Panel2, Panel3) at runtime, and create a label(Panel1Label, Panel2Label, Panel3Label) inside each panel. This far I know how to do it.

I have a form which has many textboxes on it, some are dynamically generated and some are not. They structure is something like this:

Is there a way to create a collection of all of the textboxes so that I can access all at any time? Like when I need to clear them, or when I need to compare them. Right now I either access them one by one, like textbox1.text or I run a loop starting from the main flowlayoutcontrol, going inside, testing if control is another flowlayout, then going deeper and so on. Seems like there should be another simpler way to do this though, is there?

I am developing a form where I want the user to enter a complete recipe. In any recipe, I have no way to know how many different ingredients or how many steps will be involved. So if I am using a row consisting of a textbox, a combobox, and a textbox to represent 1 ingredient. how do I generate a dynamic number of these controls at run time? I have the same problem when I store the steps in creating the recipe. I need to create a dynamic number of textboxes to record each step.
View 8 RepliesI'm making a quite large database management program(well actually 3 databases) and I am going to be creating a tab page for each database and under that a tab page for each table. each database has +- 200 tables and each of those has between 10 and 50 columns. I am also gonna put controls on each tab page of a table that represent a a row of data.I need very specific tooltips, functions for each table so generating it would be to complicated for me.
I need a automated way of creating controls on design time depending on the column datatype like a rich edit, text box or numeric up or down. and a label that has the same text as the column name It should also rename the name of the control to something appropriate .This can be done using visual studio's database wizard, but last time when I was about 30% done with one database it had already auto generated more than 1000000 lines of code. When I ran my program it took 10 minutes to show the first form and I have a powerful pc.
I vaguely remember something about a hotkey or menu that would group controls together at design time so you could drag 2 or more controls around and they would remain relative to eachother. You could work on something else and come back and the controls would still be grouped.
Does anybody know what this feature is called and how I can access it?
I was using a time picker which returns the date and time together. This was making for me problems since i am comparing this value with a database column of type time only. Tried another free time picker control but when assigning it to a repeater and when it comes to define the data source of repeater and writting the SQL Query I cant select the time picker control from the drop down list simply because it is not available.any other time picker controls with a stylish look and effecient?
View 1 RepliesNow as the title says, I'm looking for guidance on some design-time support for the many custom controls I'm working on at the moment.At the moment I'm 3 months in on a Business and Inventory management system for my mothers business. It contains many, many custom controls I had to build from scratch because the ones provided just didn't cut it for what I needed. Now one in particular is a tab page control. Just as the provided TabControl Visual Studios supply's us. It has a lot of design time control. Such as clicking the tabs and adding controls to the panels being brought to front by the corresponding tab being clicked. I had a friend of mine try to show me what I had to do, but the way I had already built my control would have made it difficult - His words, so he never officially showed me anything. If it is true what he said then I can skip that, no problem. But adding the controls to the panels during design time I must have, but cannot seem to find anything through Google searches, text books or even kids majoring in software engineering.
