I have a picture box on a form that changes size as needed. Both by resizing the form and by code. How can I resize the form automatically if I resize the picturebox in code. The client area of the picture box should not be clipped.Right now the picture box is set to dock fill, but if the code resizes it, the form does not follow it. Is there a binding somewhere I can use?
I guess thats what I need to do, Im trying to allow the user to right click on the top of my form, and my custom Context Menu Strip is displayed, not windows context menu strip. I guess somehow i would need to get the size and draw a rectangle on the non client area and see if the user has right clicked in that rectangle? if so how would I get the area of the non client area?
Hi.. Im using an application to capture selected part of screen by resizing the form and capturing area of it!! now i want to reset the form once my work id done!! i mean if i press a "RESET" button the form should be load as first time it was loaded.(the real form size..)
My VB.NET app supports several kinds of MDI child forms. Some kinds, but not others, are 'troublesome' -- they cause the focus mechanism to become weird. Once a 'troublesome' child form has been opened, NONE of the MDI child forms will become activated unless I click on either the title bar or the border. Clicking in the client area does not activate the child form -- its title bar remains gray, and it does not receive Activate or GotFocus events. Strangely, however, the clicked-on form actually DOES receive the focus, because its controls receive mouse and key events. Only the Z-Order and the highlighting do not change.
Once this problem develops, it persists even after the 'troublesome' form is closed, and it affects child forms which are opened afterward. However, if ALL of the child forms are closed, the problem clears up, and new child forms behave normally -- until the next 'troublesome' form appears.
I have no idea why one kind of child form is troublesome, and others are not.

I'm looking for help resizing a label's size and its font size based on its window size. That's to say when a window resizes, the label itself adjusts it font and background box to do the same.I know I'm triggering something on the Resize event of the form, but I don't know what.
Usually I am a web developer so this is probably a very novice question. I recently made an app in VB2008, but I developed it in a huge reso (1920x1200). The person that will be using it still uses 800x600 reso. Is there any simple way I can resize the entire interface to fit any resolution? I didn't really think about it at all while I was making the program.
I have a form that is hard coded to be 1182 x 780.
Private Sub ChangeScreenResTest() If MessageBox.Show("Continue On To Next Test? ", "Screen Test", MessageBoxButtons.YesNo, MessageBoxIcon.Question) = Windows.Forms.DialogResult.Yes Then
I have a form that sits on the user's desktop. It's only purpose is to display specific information about the computer. The layout is basically setup like this:
[Code]...
I want to be able to give the user the option to display whatever data they choose. In doing so, I'd like the form to resize itself based on the how many labels are in the form and for the labels to align vertically.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? For the form, I was thinking I could get the location of the last label and offset it's size by the location, or something similar.
developed my app on a Vista laptop and deployed it on an XP desktop. When deployed the Form and even some controls are resized so text and portions of controls are not visible.Next I moved the project files and VB to the XP desktop and published the application on that machine. Same result, in fact the sizes were changed within the properties of the forms and controls within the project files
I designed a form and managed to fit graphics inside it. Picture box is 465 pixels high. Form1 is 500 pixels high. SnapShot of the screen verifies that the 500 pixel height is the overal height. It includes the upper Bar and lower frame. Is there an instruction to set the From's inner pixel size and not overal?
I need my window to be an exact size. Isn't it possible to specify the exact size of the client area (the drawable part) as opposed to the entire form including the menu bars etc?
I had made it a goal to learn this particular aspect of programming with .Net at one point. I'm just getting around to it, but after many days of research I haven't come up with much, now I may not have thought of every possible search sure, but that aside I was wondering if anyone had any resources I could turn to for learning
I want it so when you click a button you have to select the window you want (A Temporary Red box appears round the window your currently selecting). Then when you click the final window decision then it will put a new form on then resize the form to the selected window!! how??
I'm trying to set up a system to resize multiple objects on a form (40+) when the form resizes. I've got it working but it's rather slow, when I resize the form it stutters a lot from looping through the objects to resize them. Is there a better way to do this that would not cause the stuttering effect?
I am working on a library of controls that clone Office 2010's Ribbon interface and theme. One of the controls will inherit the form control and will modify the ribbon to implement Aero Glass. This is what I have so far... In order to get the same look and feel, I've extended the aero glass margins exactly far enough to get this effect for the top 50 or so pixels. The ControlBox property is set to false, so that there's not an extra 30 pixels at the top that I don't do anything with, but now I need to get the
I would like to inform you that i developed fully functional application at client area . and then we need to create another application with some different functionality my problem is :

What is the correct way to find the client area of the webbrowser control, WITHOUT the scroll bars ?
Any area/rectangle I get from the control seems to give me the entire control size, including scroll bars wether they are there or not.
I have tried detecting whether scroll bars are present and finding how wide they are to subtract from the entire control width, but have found no reliable way to acheive this.
I am trying to find the actual size of the window I can see if when the web browser control is showing the web page, not including the scroll bars.
Since we have to resize the combo box dropdown area based on the combo box item length, used the drawstring() to add items to combo based on the item length. This gave us the below issue: On moving the cursor on the drop down area the font color and the background color are back hence the text is not readable (i.e. the whole item becomes black).
Below piece of code is used to achieve this, Private Sub cboClient_DrawItem(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.DrawItemEventArgs) [Code] .....
We tried changing font color and the dropdown area backcolor on selecting a particular item. How to make the text readable (i.e. the font color should change while if we scroll on the item).
The problem I have is: When I click on cmdListen in the server form and cmdConnect in the client form, both programs won't respond and they crash for some reason I don't know.
Client source code:
Code:
Imports System.Net.Sockets Imports System.Text Public Class Form1

below i have the form which i made in access, its BIG, REALLY BIGI am going to try and recreate this form using VB and MySQL, the question is how?The purpose of this form is to display all locations ready for someone to enter in information into them, normally the first field in each table has a unique name (which is set as the default value for that field), in the morning, the only field which is altered is a sign on field, which in access, the user clicks and the time is entered.
I am writing in VS2005 what, on the face if it, should be a relatively simple DLL, which will allow me to build a list of custom objects when called from within Excel 2007. To do this I have a Column and Columns class. As implied, Columns is a list of Column objects. The relevant classes are defined as follows:
