I have two Combo-Boxes like this
I need to create an auto-fill feature for the 1st Combo-Box. It should list the EmployeeID if Search-By Field is specified as Employee-Number. Similarly it should list Employee First Name along with Last Name if the Search-By Field is Employee-Name.
How can I do this? I have no clue, I am doing this for the first time. I am using SQLite, Visual Studio 2010.

View 1 RepliesI have this test form where I'm testing the idea, but ran into a snag. Now the main idea is to load all the data from a dataset into the one column of the datagridview. This works perfectly as shown in the image. Now there is something that I want to happen, but just can't get it right. when on the DataGridViewComboBox Column I also want to be able to type in my own data if the one I want is not available in the combobox.
Also if there are 50 values in my combobox and 2 of them are:

When I type jac, I want the combobox to only give me the options starting with "jac"

I've hit a small issue on a project of mine. I have a comboboxcolumn on a datagridview and the items list has the items ("enabled" "disabled") as the values (stored at design time). When my sql table gets the value "Enabled" or "ENABLED" stored somehow as it's value then I throw a dataerror.
I am trying to avoid this dataerror, I was told to modify the value during the cellformatting event however with my experience the dataerror fires before the formatting. What is the workaround to this behavior? As a textboxcell type the error is not present, it's all because of the case sensitivity of the "items" list on my comboboxcell

View 1 RepliesI have a data-bound combobox that pulls values from a BindingList(of T). Combobox loads fine, correct values are displayed (I'm not using SelectedItem or SelectedValue). I'm using properties and connecting the data to the control via a bindingsource.
What I want is if the user types text into the combobox, I want the data from the bound table to change to that new text, i.e. edit the bound data directly.
Easy as pie to do with a textbox, but can't seem to get a combobox to work this way.
I was trying to use the validated event of the combobox to write the data to the datasource, but it doesn't fire when I press enter. Is that the way to do it? Can I not link the data to the combobox directly?
I need this code urgently try to sort out my problem and please explain the code with proper way.

And I only want to have a single row in this table. I then write the changes to an xml file. The user will edit the row in this table save the values in the settings.properties. And then when ready write the changes to the config file.
However, I am thinking is there a better way. As I have to keep removing the row that was currently added. Then create a new one.

I have programme which contains two list box. when exe is launched it retrieves data from web references [from web services] and immidially it creates folder of cache so when next time exe. is launched it displays data so fast in listboxes. and if cache folder is deleted and exe. is again launched it takes some time to retreave data and again it create cache folder.. how can be this done. if i wish to added controls in cache

IDEA: First the user chooses an excel file which he wants to open and then the sheet he wants to be read.
I can manage everything else except making the sheet selection a multiple option one.
At the moment the name of the wanted Excel sheet is typed into the text field in the inputbox. But I want the textfield to be a dropdownlist which would be populated with this:
