I have 2 forms: form1 has a combobox form2 has a textbox for new names and a button to add
Basically I want to be able to type in a new name in the textbox and click add to add the new names to the combox in my form1.

In the combo box, it should only list the United States only once, not multiple times.

View 1 RepliesI have this test form where I'm testing the idea, but ran into a snag. Now the main idea is to load all the data from a dataset into the one column of the datagridview. This works perfectly as shown in the image. Now there is something that I want to happen, but just can't get it right. when on the DataGridViewComboBox Column I also want to be able to type in my own data if the one I want is not available in the combobox.
Also if there are 50 values in my combobox and 2 of them are:
jacky, jacson
When I type jac, I want the combobox to only give me the options starting with "jac"

I've hit a small issue on a project of mine. I have a comboboxcolumn on a datagridview and the items list has the items ("enabled" "disabled") as the values (stored at design time). When my sql table gets the value "Enabled" or "ENABLED" stored somehow as it's value then I throw a dataerror.
I am trying to avoid this dataerror, I was told to modify the value during the cellformatting event however with my experience the dataerror fires before the formatting. What is the workaround to this behavior? As a textboxcell type the error is not present, it's all because of the case sensitivity of the "items" list on my comboboxcell

View 1 RepliesI have a data-bound combobox that pulls values from a BindingList(of T). Combobox loads fine, correct values are displayed (I'm not using SelectedItem or SelectedValue). I'm using properties and connecting the data to the control via a bindingsource.
What I want is if the user types text into the combobox, I want the data from the bound table to change to that new text, i.e. edit the bound data directly.
Easy as pie to do with a textbox, but can't seem to get a combobox to work this way.
I was trying to use the validated event of the combobox to write the data to the datasource, but it doesn't fire when I press enter. Is that the way to do it? Can I not link the data to the combobox directly?

I want to make the combobox not to be able to write yourself. for example there are 4 options ,"A","b", "c","d".If i type w in the combo all the project is ruined!i want not to be able to type at all to prevent this...Which property should i change?

I'm trying to bind data to a combo box but it does not appear to be working. I've setup the DataSet and the DataSetBindingSource and all this appears to be working, within the form design I can expand the little arrow in the ComboBox control and preview the data. This appears to be working but when the application is run, nothing appears in the drop down box.

Well here is my problem, I have an XML file and from there I have data going into a drop down ComboBox, what I need is the data from the next column over that corisponds to the same row, ie. the phone # that corisponds to a person's name in a data table.I semi-know what I need to do I just can't figure out the code to take the index of the ComboBox and take the data into the Label.

I am doing a payment system and what I really want to happen is that when I select the payment type(full or installment) the data that I inputted will show on another form.
