I have the HTML string:

[code]....
So I need to get from that string, a string that has:

I am trying to build my own website and realized that it would be a big help to also create my own vb program to enable me to embed tags with simple clicks of buttons. I am having trouble getting my vb code to be compatible with html code (I keep getting vb syntax errors).
Here is what I've tried:
<strong>'Inside of a button:Textbox1.text = "<html tag example></html tag example>"</strong>

I'm still learning the ropes in VB.NET and I'm currently up to a point in a current project where I would need to parse links on an html website once the information has been downloaded to the document completed section of my web browser.

How can you find a specific HTML element in a webbrowser.document? I'm making a program that will go to a specified address on the internet and find a html element and get the src link from the element then return the src to the imagelocation of a picturebox. Is this at least possible?

I need to find out if the TextBox control contains a HTML comment but without closing tag. e.g. <!-- content here notice that it's possible that they can enter more than one comments so all of the comments have their closing tag except one (or even more).
I just need to find if there is ONE or more html comments without closing tag.

so I had an idea today while modding a game I play. I decided to make a mod-manager.In order to start the game with mods, you have to go to the website, log in, click playnow and view the source of the html file. From there you get the sessionID variable and add it to a shortcut on your desktop. I wanted to be able to automate this process by doing the following:
on button1.click: somehow parse the source of the html file to locate the line that looks like chis:
var sessionId = 'random26charSessionID'; and take what is inside of the ' ' and add it to textbox1.text
Any ideas? Not sure if it will be in the same line every time with add banners and stuff...so I wanted to parse the doccument.

This may sound really stupid but I have to ask cause I'm not finding this answer anywhere.I have an application where the user will need to sign up for a new user account on the website [URL]..However when I am using Firefox's plug-in Firebug to view html I am getting something totally different than when I just right click on the site and view the page source.
What I am trying to do is to get the captcha from the website and display it in a picturebox on the application so the user can view the captcha, solve the captcha and then the app post is back to the service for a response.
Here is the source that I am getting using Firefox's Firebug to inspect the element:
<td>
<input type="hidden" value="Oo3Jo1I8bgzK68agMqo3s79ZZib2OkbK" name="iden">
<img class="capimage" src="/captcha/Oo3Jo1I8bgzK68agMqo3s79ZZib2OkbK.png" alt="i wonder if these things even work">
</td>
[Code]...
Why would the two be showing me two different versions of the HTML?
And how would you be able to grab that source to view in a picturebox using webclient?

Usage: Users create pretty HTML news letters in another app. They post the newsletter to the web, but they also want to set the contents of the HTML news letter file as the body of an email and send it using Application In Question. The users understand to use absolute link and image references when sending an E Newsletter. Environment:
AIQ is a VB.Net app deployed via ClickOnce. It is an intranet app; one can be sure MS Office 2003 and the interop 11 dlls are on the target machines.
Restrictions: MAPI is out. It mangles the HTML. Since it is a ClickOnce deployment, we can't register dlls (I think, correct me if I am wrong). Therefore CDO and COM is out (again, I may be wrong.... I would be happy to be proven so).

I've got a form - CMCConsole It pops up a dialog form for adding a new case.If the matter number in a textbox on that dialog form matches an existing cases matter number I would like to find it in the binding source of the CMCConsole form
Private Function CheckMatter(ByVal MtrNum As String) As Boolean
Dim cfIndex As Integer = CMCConsole.caseBS.Find("MatterNumber", MtrNum)
Dim cfIndex2 As Integer = CMCConsole.casefileBS.Find("MatterNumber", MtrNum)
[code]....
But it appear the filter for the CASE we were just on that is set on the binding source is keeping the FIND from seeing other cases.
caseBS.Filter = "CaseId=" & e.Node.Tag.ToString
Do I have to clear the filter in order to find a matter number in some other case??

I am writing the code as I got the time from the timeanddate site as I use html class method to get the string.
Module Module1
Public Sub time1()
'Create a request for the URL.
Dim request As Net.WebRequest = Net.WebRequest.Create("http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/city.html?n=240")
' If required by the server, set the credentials.
[code]....
The statement of If time1() Then is incorrect which it needs a value, like if it true. how I can find out the valid time on other the site and then find the "odd" strings from html class?

I have been writing VBA code for MS Access for years, but am starting my first project that will need to retrieve data from the Internet. I have come across code samples that use "Microsoft Internet Controls" and "Microsoft HTML Object Library", and I can make them available references in VBA, and available methods and fields etc. show when writing code, but I cannot find any documentation for these APIs. Does it come with MS Office on the CDs (if so, where?), or is it available over the Internet somewhere?

We're writing a Windows client application in VB.NET. On the first launch of the application it loads a local HTML file "User Guide" for the user to get acquainted with the new software. There is also a menu option to access the content which also produces the same error. Whenever the page is launched, a dialog box appears stating that "The system could not find the specified file.", and then the browser windows loads the content. This is IE8 specific, as we previously tested with IE6 and 7 as well as Firefox with no problems.
Apparently this behavior is also happening within Outlook 2007 for some of our users whenever they click a link in an email, but only on the first link they click. Also, one condition for the error to appear is that no IE8 window is currently running, otherwise another tab opens and loads the content just fine. We get this error on XP and Vista.

Need a bit of help with HTML Agility Pack!Basically I want to grab plain-text withing the body node of the HTML. So far I have tried this in vb.net and it fails to return the innertext meaning no change is seen, well atleast from what I can see.
Dim htmldoc As HtmlDocument = New HtmlDocument
htmldoc.LoadHtml(html)
Dim paragraph As HtmlNodeCollection = htmldoc.DocumentNode.SelectNodes("//body")
[code]....
I have tried this:
Return htmldoc.DocumentNode.InnerText
But still no luck!

I am trying save a value from an input tag in some HTML source code. The tag looks like so:
<input name="user_status" value="3" />
I have the page source in a variable (pageSourceCode), and need to work out some regex to get the value (3 in this example). I have this so far: [Code] Which works fine most of the time, however this code is used to process source code from multiple sites (that use the same platform), and sometimes there are other attributes included in the input tag, or they are in a different order, eg:
<input class="someclass" type="hidden" value="3" name="user_status" />
I just dont understand regex enough to cope with these situations.

I have to submit a HTML form to a 3rd party website and one of the hidden fields is an XML string. The XML needs escaping before it is sent to the 3rd party.
However when I add the plain XML to the form field it semi-escapes it for me. So then when I use HTMLEncode myself part of the XML is double-escaped. How do I prevent the automatic escaping that appears to becoming from .NET.
Or even better how else can send the escaped XML via the hidden field.
XML
<systemCode>APP</systemCode>
Basic assigning to hidden input field
<systemCode>APP</systemCode>
When I HTML Encode it as well
&lt;systemCode&gt;APP&lt;/systemCode&gt;
I can see what's happening - but I don't know how to prevent it?

I successfully wrote a code to retrieve a version number from a HTML page which is this:
<div class="header">Latest Version: <span class="version">6.59</span></div>
So the following code will return the version number which currently is 6.59 which is what I'm after. [Code] But then i remembered that releases are done as following: 6.59, 6.59b, 6.59c, 6.60, 6.60b etc. So when the b version of 6.59 is released the parser will still return 6.59. So how can i make this code better?
