Regular Expression Does Not Remove HTML Comment?

Jun 30, 2011

I have the following string:
<TD><!-- 1.91 -->6949<!-- 9.11 --></TD>
I want to end up with:
<TD>6949/TD>
But instead I end up with just the tags and no information:
<TD></TD>

This is the regular expression I am using:
RegEx.Replace("<TD><!-- 1.91 -->6949<!-- 9.11 --></TD>","<!--.*-->","")
How to keep the numbers and remove just what the comments.

VS 2008 Comment Control?

Apr 24, 2010

Im working on a comment control. I mean a control, that has an input area for text and images and a line or an arrow for pointing to something. It should a bit look like the comment control in Adobe Acrobat.

My first idea is to put four standard controls together:

1) a RichTextBox to hold text and images

2) a Panel to hold the RichTextBox and some GrabRectangles around it (the Panel needs to be a bit greater than the RTB for the GrabRectangles)

3) a little Panel (3x3 or 4x4 Pixel) to hold another GrabRectangle for placing and resizing the line (the arrow)

4) a LineShape for pointing (its startpoint on the RTB and endpoint on the little Panel)

I have added a drawing.My question is: what can I use to put these controls together? Another Panel would probably do a good job. But it would cover a lot of additional area around the contained controls and hide other controls, so that they dont get mouse clicks.

From HTML Content In A WebBrowser Control, Call Another Control?

Feb 20, 2010

I have a regular application form with a WebBrowser control.I have strung together a .htm file (from a regular text file) which I then assign to the WebBrowser control. In the html file, I have filenames mentioned.I am trying to string together the html in such a way as to give a clickable link or button that will parse into html and open the corresponding file in another WebBrowser control in VB.I have tried using VBScript and JavaScript to put a button in the html.As long as the function or sub I call is also in the same html document, it works, but I really need to transfer the control back into visual basic where I can do the heavy lifting I need to.can I just not do this as a regular VB application? Any way to do it without adding the complication of requiring ActiveX?

Forms :: Find Specific Text From Html Files?

Dec 23, 2010

so I had an idea today while modding a game I play. I decided to make a mod-manager.In order to start the game with mods, you have to go to the website, log in, click playnow and view the source of the html file. From there you get the sessionID variable and add it to a shortcut on your desktop. I wanted to be able to automate this process by doing the following:

on button1.click: somehow parse the source of the html file to locate the line that looks like chis:
var sessionId = 'random26charSessionID'; and take what is inside of the ' ' and add it to textbox1.text

Any ideas? Not sure if it will be in the same line every time with add banners and stuff...so I wanted to parse the doccument.

Closing Application Via X Button Without Closing Forms Inside Mdiparent Causes Exception Error

May 3, 2010

Form1 is a mdi container. It has a bunch of forms that can load inside of it as mdi children. If I close each open form inside the form1, and then click the red X at the top right, application exits fine.If I click the red X without closing the forms inside I get: An unhandled exception of type 'System.CannotUnloadAppDomainException' occurred in mscorlib.dll

Additional information: Error while unloading appdomain. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131015) However I can break from it. How do I get the application to not show that error? What must I do to fix those inside forms or close when the red x is clicked?

VS 2008 Closing All Forms When Program Closes Vs. Closing All But Main Form

Jun 4, 2010

Dim frm As Form
For Each frm In Forms
Set frm = Nothing
Next frm

The above code is what I used in VB6 to close all forms associated with my programs before my program closed. I have been searching for information on how to make sure all forms are closed when closing a VB2008 program.

I have seen info on using the Project Property Shutdown mode When startup form closes and I currently have this set.

Is this all that is really necessary? Will the garbage disposal close everything else to free up RAM?

Also, if I have several forms open and want to close all from the main form without closing each one individually, what is the best approach? Is there a collection like in VB6, go through the collection, compare it to the name of the main form and close it if it is not the main form?

Html Source Code Doesn't Show Html But In Firebug Inspect Element Html Is There?

Jan 10, 2012

This may sound really stupid but I have to ask cause I'm not finding this answer anywhere.I have an application where the user will need to sign up for a new user account on the website [URL]..However when I am using Firefox's plug-in Firebug to view html I am getting something totally different than when I just right click on the site and view the page source.

What I am trying to do is to get the captcha from the website and display it in a picturebox on the application so the user can view the captcha, solve the captcha and then the app post is back to the service for a response.

Here is the source that I am getting using Firefox's Firebug to inspect the element:

<td>
<input type="hidden" value="Oo3Jo1I8bgzK68agMqo3s79ZZib2OkbK" name="iden">
<img class="capimage" src="/captcha/Oo3Jo1I8bgzK68agMqo3s79ZZib2OkbK.png" alt="i wonder if these things even work">
</td>

[Code]...

Why would the two be showing me two different versions of the HTML?

And how would you be able to grab that source to view in a picturebox using webclient?

Sending An HTML Email, Where The HTML Comes From An HTML File .Net/ClickOnce Environment?

Jun 20, 2009

Usage: Users create pretty HTML news letters in another app. They post the newsletter to the web, but they also want to set the contents of the HTML news letter file as the body of an email and send it using Application In Question. The users understand to use absolute link and image references when sending an E Newsletter. Environment:

AIQ is a VB.Net app deployed via ClickOnce. It is an intranet app; one can be sure MS Office 2003 and the interop 11 dlls are on the target machines.

Restrictions: MAPI is out. It mangles the HTML. Since it is a ClickOnce deployment, we can't register dlls (I think, correct me if I am wrong). Therefore CDO and COM is out (again, I may be wrong.... I would be happy to be proven so).
