I'm having trouble inputting data in to an array. The first input is fine but after that it just overwrites the first input. i tried to write it so that it would increase the array index by one each time but it hasn't worked.[code]
View 7 RepliesI'm trying to code an 'increase' button to prompt a user to input a rate by which to increase select prices in an array.It should request the increased rate, then request a number from one to five, representing which price in the array to increase.Then, if 'increase' button is selected again and another number from one to five is chosen, then that element should be increased.It's working, but all the numbers in the array are changed. And, when I hit the increase button again, the array is repopulated below the first price increases instead of only replacing the designated price.

Trying to input a high setpoint, low setpoint, a % load, and number of compressors, then calculate the temp that all compressors are off. Then build a datagridview with the staging of compressors from all off to all on for each compressor up to 10 compressors.I am trying to insert headers from 1 to 10 compressors (Variable) with the text "Comp1", "Comp2", etc....Two rows with header. I just recently started getting an index out of bounds error on one of my arrays at runtime. I was not having this issue previously. It only seems to happen when several items are added to a listbox.

View 5 RepliesI am coding a program for a movie trivia game that randomly shows a movie quote and the the user selects a movie name from a combo box that matches. I used a array for the movie quotes and a comboBox for the movie names. I have coded a portion of the program but I am stuck on how to compare the array quote being shown to what movie the user selects from the comboBox. I have tried numerous different things but none seem to work right. The way I have it coded now it shows that every movie I pick that it is right even if it is wrong. Im trying to increase the size of an array by 1 each time a button is pushed and have the new value read into the array. I use a variable nIndexItems which is increase by 1 each time the button is pressed. I need preserve the existing data so I have done the following: ReDim Preserve arHours(nIndexItems) This increases the array but doesnt preserve the data. I found the following so I tried it but its not working wither: ReDim Preserve arHours(UBound(arHours) + 1) how to keep this data?

Im trying to make it so I can input a number for a percentage, multiply that with my current array prices, and display the total in the listbox. I have a few theories on why it isnt working but cant pinpoint which one to use, I'm at a basic level to this and still learning the process. I have one user that is having a problem with my application, the error report shows an event type of clr203r and an index out of range exception. From what I've read this seems to have "something" to do with arrays or lists. (What that something is, so far, is beyond me or anything I've researched). I do have one array in my program -- myarray(13) as byte and I do have the syntax right as far as noting 20 elements in it. in my other bits of code.
I'm reading those bytes in the serial port, deciphering them and performing some actions. (to be vague). But just with what I've said, can anyone point me to a possible problem? Is the index out of range exception ALWAYS concerned with just arrays or lists? Or could it be something else?

I've got the web browser with tabs in all working fine, but there's one bug, i can add tabs, delete em, etc.. but when i delete a tab then go to create a new tab, it gives me the error: InvalidArgument=Value of '6' is not valid for 'index'. i am trying to complete a project. My task is to read large TXT files (300 files, 2.2 GB in total) read the customers inside, perform some data calculation and write each customer data to a separate txt file.
I made a code in VB6, it runs fine, however it takes 8 days to run on a quadcore processor, utilizing 20-30% of the CPU. Now I upgraded the code and am running on VB.NET 2008, the latest version. The speed still remains the same, and the CPU usage is also about the same.
Anyway I can make this process faster. I have a quadcore PC with 8GB of ram, possible to maybe make VB utilize all the CPU say 100%? so it executes atleast 2 to 3 times faster.

I have it automatically determining the correct font size of the text so that it will stretch from the left edge to the right edge, but the barcode isn't very wide (or tall), It's only about a centimeter tall (when printing a 9-digit number).

this is what I want it to do. On the label, I put a little image (a question mark icon). When hovered, a bigger image would appear. But the problem is, some other "labels" is going on top of the bigger image. And also, the bigger image, gets cropped when it reaches the border of "groupbox"

Under VB2 I could create a form with many charts (One form had 12 graphs). You could define the chart once and cut and paste it the required number of times on the form. Each chart had an index and the code used the index to create and update the desired chart with the appropriate x,y data. Is it possible to do this in VB2010?
