Is it possible to attched some kind of Flash animation Menu & Navigation buttons in VB.NET? or only in website can do that? cause i want to create some flash animation buttons and datagridview or something components.....
I have placed a few radio buttons in a panel, but I have a weird problem where they require 2 clicks to change their state. If one of the radio buttons is checked, and I click once on another radio button, this will uncheck the checked radio button leaving no radio buttons checked. I then need to click the radio button a second time to change its state to checked.
I want to make an application witch involves logging into google. It is basically a small application to always have your gmail with you without always having to go to the web browser and log in. Basically what I want to do is, when the person signs into their google account (or the page url changes) I want the webbrowser to refresh and go to a new point in the form and create an animation using a timer. I dont need advise with the animation, I just need to know how to link it together with the person signing into google. And also, If it's possible I would like to have the person log in without the actual google web interface, but with 2 textboxes and a button. I am using Visual Studio 2008.
i recently posted a thread about the same project, but decided this was a more specific question, so i decided to open a new thread My question regards the graphics class in visual basic 2008. Ive searched the internet low and high for an answer to this, but i cannot find anything! I am attempting to 'shoot' a circle drawn on the form when the user presses the 'r' key. if a string property is set to right, the graphic should be drawn, then updated to different x coordinates based on an interval. if the property is 'up' or 'down' then the y coordinate of the graphic should be changed based on another interval. Now i cannot use one preset timer, because i would be able to shoot only one bullet at a time, which would not work!
Does anyone know how i can either create an array of graphics(bullets) and add to the list every time the user presses r, then using one preset timer, update them all, or simple create a timer every time a bullet is created, then update the bullet position with its own timer.
i need to get some buttons to interact with other buttons on screen when i click then, as each indivual button gives a slightly different result.imagine this:[code]....
then i need then to hide different buttons depending on which button was pressed. so say i pressed button 1 then all the buttons showed but alternativly if i had of pressed 2 then say button 5 and 6 disapear.managed to get one way to work but then i would only ever end up with the first results every time.
I am using an webservice to update my dataset and have a picture box to show an processing image i.e. a gif showing a progress bar and the words processing. My prob. is the gif stops animation as soon as the control goes to the webserver. I have done this. Timer1.Enabled = True Timer1_Tick(Nothing, Nothing) picServer.Refresh() GetMasterData() In the timer1_tick even too I have tried picserver.refresh (picserver is the picture box). Getmasterdata is the process where the data is returned from the web service and as the control goes to the web service it somehow stops the process of the gif. It takes about 5 mins to popup the data from the webservice this code is in the form load event of the main form.
I'm a new to visual basic and I need to create a boat animation in vb in visual studio 2008. The animation needs to be able to move from left to right, then stop in a specific place and then move from bottom to top. However before it moves it should bring up a labels. I have managed to move the boat from right to left using the timer and left and top assets but unable to stop it on a particular place on the form.
I've been trying to make basically a simple animation player inside a class so that I can use it in a game I have to make for a school IPT project. When I first tested out some code I found, it was not in "class form", ie there were just loose variables as I was only animating a single .gif file. The code worked perfectly, and the animation was drawn frame by frame by the e.Graphics.DrawImage function.
Now that I have moved the code into a class (So I can run more than one animation at a time, though Im still trying to get only one to work), The e.Graphics.DrawImage function didnt work. It would draw the first image, but then (even though the function is called as shown by stepping through the lines of code), the picture doesn't update. I know the frame has changed as Ive kept track of the current frame in the debug window, but it still wont work.
I have had troubles like this with other GDI functions, where if the variable to draw is inside a class (etc) it simply wont work, it will only work if it is a loosely floating variable. (i.e. Sprite.Image doesnt work, If I just make an image it does). With the code below, I have tried in the e.Graphics.DrawImage function submitting me.wth.animatedImage and wth.animatedImage
Public Class Form1 Dim wth As New vsprite Public Class vsprite Public animatedImage As New Bitmap("C:Documents and SettingsSamDesktopexplosion.gif") Public currentlyAnimating As Boolean = False [Code] .....
I am using a Gif animation on my Mainform. When i open a second form and then return to the mainform - the animation stops. How can i make sure that the animation restarts after the second form was closed?
I have a piece of software with two tabs, inside each tab there are buttons (the user can add the buttons when they want). when tab1 is full tab2 should start to fill. I currently know how many buttons fit on the screen so I just say something like if buttons > 150 then start to populate tab 2 The problem i have now though is if the resolution is changed then a different amount of buttons can be displayed. so if I put my screen to 1280x720 some buttons are left of. I was thinking of detecting the resolution and then using different cases for different resolutions but this seems very inefficient im wondering if there is a different way?
Ok everyone knows that you can get the visibility of a control by control.visible...now my question is this: how can i get the visibility of a control without taking parent controls into account ...ie. if i have a button in a picture box ... and the picture box is invisible (even though the button property is visible in the designer) the value returns false. How can i return the visible value for the control that is displayed as it would be in the designer?
I've got a nice little setup at the moment with how my button is, but for some reason, it shows a black border around it if I show any MessageBox or Dialog that I have, and I can paint over it, but it's impossible for me to do so without it looking wrong.[code]If I click the exit button without the message box code, it works fine!
i have a toolstripsplitbutton, and i want the drop down items to showhide when you click the button not just when the mini arrow is clicked so i call toolstripsplitbutton.ShowDrowDown on the event toolstripsplitbutton.click and to hide, i can call toolstripsplitbutton.HideDropDown but i can't seem to find any property that would indicate whether the toolstripsplitbutton is currently dropped down or hidden..i did not expect this to be this hard but i can't seem to find any indicator of whether or not the list is dropped down.
I have a form that has many checkboxes located on a tab control with 3 tabs each tab has checkboxes on it.I have a button that when pressed selects all the checkboxes. That does work and it does execute all that were selected. However there are no checkmarks appearing at all. This worked before! It seems like the more checkboxes I added to the form the less they properly showed f they were checked or unchecked. Now none of them show unless I close the form and reopen it then all of the boxes are checked like they should be when the select all button is pressed.
I have some code that does a Find & Replace in some text files, and closes the file when complete. However, when I try to use the Kill command in VB to cleanup these files (they are temporary files) when the program is closed, I get errors that the file is in use by another app or process. Is there a way I can force these files to close first? This also happens when I scan a document using the EZTWAIN.dll Scan to native function.Everything goes fine, but if I try to scan again to overwrite the file, the file is in use. This is happening on Windows Vista SP1.
I am trying to access the checked state of a CheckBox from a BackGroundWorker thread. I am utilizing properties and it seemed to work just fine. However, I'm using 10-15 CheckBoxes and I think using the InvokeRequired property would probably be best. I've looked over JMC's thread that talks about how to access controls from the worker thread a bunch of different times and I can't seem to grasp the concepts. When it comes to the InvokeRequired property, I suppose I understand why it is needed. But I'm not sure if I understand it completely.
From the example that JMC provides: vb.net Private Sub ResetTextBoxText() If Me.TextBox1.InvokeRequired Then Me.TextBox1.Invoke(New MethodInvoker(AddressOf ResetTextBoxText)) Else Me.TextBox1.ResetText() End If End Sub
If I'm not mistaken, this tells us that if invocation is required to access the control, then we access via the MethodInvoker if not, then we just access to directly? So, if I need to check the checked state of a check box, I know I can just put a conditional statement after the Else line if I can access it directly. But, if I can't how would I use MethodInvoker to check the checked state? And then, when calling it from the worker thread, would I just call the sub?
Before, my codes are working properly.. But not..I am getting this run time error. What the error means? Operation is not valid due to the current state of the object.
Can i put my app in some kind of wait state for a certain key on the keyboard before continuing? But that key can be targeted to any window, not just my app. My app would be out of focus and i hit that key on the keyboard and it would act.
I have an MDI Form that contains an MDI Child form. On this child form is a flexgrid. When the user double clicks on a row in the flexgrid this loads another MDI Child form. I have set the following properties on the second child form:
The problem is that if the first MDI child form is in a maximized state and the user double clicks on the flex grid, the second child form loads in a maximized state too! How can I stop this?

How do I revert a form including the controls back to a original state without closing the app? For example I got a picture box and 2 buttons in a form..
What I would like to do is to have four different buttons (e.g., buttonA, buttonB, buttonC and button D). I wanna give the following instruction to the people: press these buttons in the following order: first buttonA, then buttonB, then buttonC and last buttonD. If they obey this instruction then a picture will be displayed, for instance a happy face. All the other combinations will not activate this picture to be displayed, or in other words, there won't be any consequence. I would also like to save this data using windows note pad e.g., writeline (1, xxxxxx). Is there any chance I will make it?
I'm using a dialog form with two buttons and two Radio buttons.I'm oppening this Dialog when a button is clicked on the parent form.My situattion is when the Dialog opens the code in the button event continues to execute, but I only want it to continue to execute only after a button from the dialog form have been clicked
Private Sub btnSave_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnSave.Click If multipleEXT = 2 Then Extension.Show()
