When I put the code into the onbutton click it seems to work fine. But when i put it in the above fuction and start the function i get this error:
Error:System.IndexOutOfRangeException: Serials

Is there any possibility that I can put this large chunk of code to a function so that I can call and verify the input without having to repeat the code for every textbox.keyPress event.

How do i put "" quotes in a string because the string is defined with " and " i want it to be something like Dim TempString As String = "Test="Test"" but how do i get the "" inside the "" if you know what i mean.

I don't really know how to explain this except that I want to draw a bunch of rectangles in a LOOP, then I want each rectangle to be put into an array. To be more specific as alot of people keep telling me to be....I am making a robot, that can move left or right from below the screen, the robot is a rectangle with a barrel in the middle of it. The robot can shoot bullets, but as I understand I have to draw the bullets from the code. So far I have the functions written down to get started and I have tried all the drawing methods, and none of them will do what I want.

I'm developing a new programme that uses multiple table to store Orders placed via my website, on the form that i have created i have a Combobox that displays the Point of sale name. what i need it to do is when the record is updated in need the Point_of_sale_ID value that matches the name from the Point_Of_Sale table to be put into the Point_of_Sale_ID field on the Sales_Order tableI have added the Foreign Keys for the fields, but i cannot find any help in regards to this, i mainly wor with PHP but have taken on the new challenge of VB & ADO.Net, i have rear several book on the subject and have produced several single table programs but am now stuck!! I'm currently grabbing all files in a folder and displaying them into a listview. Below is the code I'm using:

If you look at the "For" line, you can see that pulling all files with an extension of .txt. There are some files that I need to pul with different extensions. I tried just doing "*.", and it would grab the files with not extension, but not the txt extension.
So, I wanted to know if there was some way to just pull all files or specify more than one extension.

OK, SO i have this program that outputs all the servers on a specific game. It outputs it to a text file. HOWEVER, There is a lot of annoying spaces. This is kind of hard to explain, so ill try to explain it. This is what The text file looks like. [Code]
As you can see, they have these annoying spaces. What I want to do: 1. Get rid of the spaces, BUT KEEP A SPACE BETWEEN THE IP AND THE PORT. 2. After the spaces that are bad are gone, I want the program to output each single IP AND port To its own text Box. It doesn't matter is the textbox of the IP and Port are separated, It can just be one textbox with the IP and port, with a space between them. Thats about it. I have the GUI done, and the rest of the programming, all I need now is this. Reformat without spaces > output each separate line of text to a separate textbox > TYTYTYTY
PS, is there a way for VB to send a command to the command prompt? Say, I wanted it to open a CMD box and send ipconfig into that box, what would that be?

I want to make an numerical integration method with takes in an analytic function and integrate it over a specific interval. For the numerical integration procedure I want to use some procedures in nr.com. The problem is that these are programmed in C++ and they uses functors to pass a function to the integration method. How can I do this in VB 2010?
I want to initialize the function (i.e. set a=1,b=0 for function y(x)=a*x+b) and then pass the function to the integration method. Then when the integration method call the function it only calls the function with one parameter (i.e. x since a,b is already set)
What is the best way to do this in VB2010?I want to make a general integration method where I can pass any single valued function and integration limits.
I have just started using VB, and from what I have found so far it seems like the tools you have is
- to us a delegate for the function
- to use a lambda expression for the function
- send a pointer/adressOf
- to create a function class/structure and submit this to the function
As for now I am most inclined to create a function-class. But I am not really sure how.F.ex. I make different classes for each "uniqe function" I want to integrate, but how can I pass them to the integration function when I need to specify the argument type in the integration-function-call?This seems like a basic problem which applies to many Math operations, so I think it would be very useful to clarify this.

I am currently creating a program that outputs an image, but the image being outputted consists of text and other graphical elements.
So the text element would look like:
graphics.DrawString(text, variable, variable, variable, variable)
My problem is that I cannot create more than one set of each element that I am creating. And then put that into the code that creates the image. Is there a way of creating this line of code and then putting it into say a variable and then putting the variable into the code where the image is created?

Is it possible to set an *.ico (icon) file as an image for a button ? I tried it but I saw I can only select *.jpg , *.bmp , *.gif files etc , but no icons . I am sure it's me who's stupid enough not to be able to do that , not Microsoft for removing this possibility which was available in VB6 , therefore , please tell me there is a way to do that !

I have attached a picture of yahoo Messenger with this Thread and highlighted the 2 text fields and a button with red line. The problem is that I have seen a small program in the computer of my friend. When He double clicked on that program, it (program) automatically puts the User ID and Password in Yahoo Messenger relevant fields and automatically presses the Login Button. I have tried much to get the source code of that program, but cant.

I need a little advice in manipulating DataGridView in Visual Basic .Net. This is my first time playing with DataGridView. My program is to load a .txt file containing data of every room in a building and display them in the DataGridView. Here is a portion of the file showing 2 rooms:
1;1812;1812;F18;T1;26808.16;.00;.00;.00;.00;.00;.00;
1;1813;1813;F18;T1;24000.00;3500.00;.00;300.00;.00;.00;.00
A room is a one-line string that ends with an endline character.I have no problem with loading the file and getting all these information. I store data of each room into an object of class Room, and put them in a list.Right now, I put all of the properties of the room into the data grid's columns like this:
Now, how can I put all these rooms' data into the grid? I tried follow [URL].. at first, but setting DataSource to a list of class Room imitating from the given link doesn't show anything in the grid view.How can we tell the program to link rows of the grid to a list of objects? Or am I doing it wrong?

I have a vb.net window app that has a number of combo boxes on it. These are being populated from a number of XML files and all this works like a charm. The problem i have is when it comes to putting the comboboxes in a datagridview. I have set up my columns and have set the first column to be a combobox but i'm having problems referencing this so that i can set the datasource to populate it.
I've looked everywhere but cant seem to find how to reference this control. Once this has been selected it will populate a second combo box based on the data from the first. I think i can sort this out, if i could only work out how to set the datasource of the first combo programatically.

I'm trying to undersatnd the syntax of calling a funciton and it seem confusing when I'm using a web service in ASP.net. Maybe this question should be in an ASP forum, but it is a VB question. This simple web service allows you to type in your name and it response with an alert box with you name.
My question is, How can you call a function with 2 arguments when the function is only defined for one. I understand that the second argument is actually a method that handling the respons, but how can you interchange function arguments for methods and how do you know that there are methods for
