VS 2010 Aligning Webpage And Allowing Multi Logins?

Sep 9, 2011

I am new with VB 2010, I am starting a new personal project to control a browser based game for meWhat i have done so far is made a Windows Forms Application, with three tabs all with web browser and directing to the game. What i am having trouble with so far is to align the page so it is just the flash box of the game on the web site, so all i see in my window is the game and nothing more of the website. Also trying to work out how i can allow each tab to have a different account but on the same url address. A little bit like multifox made by firefox.

VS 2010 : Encryption - Allowing User To Set Key?

Oct 6, 2011

I am using the code from the following link. Basically I am using the built in functions in visual basic for encryption (Cryptography). Seeing as there is a lot of code for it, I posted a link to the code I am using.

[URL]

I get what this is doing and how it is doing it...for the most part. My question is how do you let the user set the key to be used instead of it randomly generating one? One of the reasons I want this over the random key is that the user will be able to remember it easier and the key generated sometimes has weird characters in it that not everyone will no how to use. I have tried everything I can think of.

The encryption works good, all I am using it for is to encrypt/decrypt a text document. If this is not too good of an encryption, that does not matter as I am not using it to encrypt any highly sensitive information. All I need is a way to be able to allow the user to set the key, but every time I try to pass a string through the encryption() method instead of a generated key (in the generateKey() method) it will give me an error.

VS 02/03 On Logins And MDI Close Buttons?

Dec 22, 2009

Let's say you have a useraccount table which stores data about the user accounts. What if the system is run fron scratch (with the database having no input whatsoever, meaning, there are no existing user accounts as well)? How are you going to have the user login to the system?

Would you incorporate a backup admin into the login form (eg: a backup admin user with admin and pass as its username and password, respectively)? I did this, but limited the account's authorization to making an admin-level account. Suggestions?

How do you make sure that the database connection has already been closed? Is there any method we can use to do that? What event should I use when making sure that the database connection has already been closed (particularly when a form is about to be closed)? And how can I disable the close button on the MDI Form (and disabling ALT+F4)?

Create A Program That Connects To Several Websites, Logins, Then Post Some Data?

Nov 29, 2009

I use Visual Basic.net to create a program that connects to several websites, logins, then post some data. I can't use the httpwebrequest, some java is required on those sites, so i use the webbrowser control. Now I created a form, some fields for input data and a submit button. The coding part is like this:

Code:
sub website1(vars)
'login here
'post some data

[code].....

The problem is that I can't control what happens after submit button is clicked. I need to pause or stop the process at any time. If I exit the program while processing, I can see that even if the window disappear, the program is still running!I tried to use a thread for this, but the subs only get called if I use begininvoke, or invoke on a starter thread.

Im doing a lil coding project in vb .net, i wrote up my login script and can can successful connect to a mysql database (not talking about the wordpress one) and pull login data from a table(called logins, fields are just username and password) to use for logging into my application. When i looked at the password fields in the wordpress database all the passwords are like encrypted and are random characters.

So the problem is im not sure of what type of encryption it is, and how I can utilize it for my login form in my vb project. I havn't tried coding this since i was certain if it was possible.

Asp.net - Right Aligning Statictextfield Controls?

Aug 30, 2010

So I am adding StaticTextField controls to a page. This is using ExtJS, but we use VB.NET methods to add ExtJS so we don't actually have to write it.I tried using

.Style = "text-align:right"But that isn't working, in fact it isn't doing anything. Here is the whole code of one of the controls:

[Code]...

Anyone have any idea why these aren't right aligning using CSS? For some reason, if I try to use the same code above (the CSS), to try and right align comboboxes, or number fields, it works, and they are located right underneath these static controls, but it's not working for static controls. They need to be static because we don't want the "box" outline on each of the values, we just want it to be text, nothing else on the screen.

Auto-Aligning Controls On Form?

Feb 11, 2010

I converted a VB6 application to VB.Net and in doing so, I seem to have lost the ability to auto-align the controls on the form. I thought I could change that in the "Tools > Options > Windows Forms Designer > General" area but that doesn't seem to work. Anyone have any ideas? I really don't need to use a grid for aligning since the auto-align functionality can be used but I just don't know how to get it back.

I need it to look like the following:

I've seen several representations of how to do this in VB6, but I would prefer managed code (VB.net). Also, I want to make sure that what appears in the textbox will translate to the printed page the same way.

Multi Key Hotkeys In VB 2010?

Feb 24, 2012

I've written a simple WAV player in VB 2010 - a Windows Form App with no menus. I'm trying to create a hotkey, like CTRL-D that would make a text box visible. Typing the correct password in the box will expand the form and show some Administrative functions. I'm having issues creating the hotkey with more than one key.I've got the following code, but it does not work. I do have KeyPreview set to True.

Private Sub _KeyDown(sender As Object, e As System.Windows.Forms.KeyEventArgs) Handles Me.KeyDown
If e.KeyCode = Keys.Control And e.KeyCode = Keys.D Then
txtPWD.Visible = True

I've also tried

If e.Keycode = Keys.ControlKey & e.KeyCode = Keys.D

and many other variations including changing to ALT and SHIFT but nothing seems to work. If I remove one of the Keys, it works just fine.

VS 2010 Having The Multi-Threading IP's?

Dec 11, 2010

I've been raking my brain for quite some time on this. Is there any way with VB.NET that I can use multiple IP's in one instance of a program? For example, I want to be able to navigate to a web page 10 times at once, with each one using a different IP. I want them to be parallel (multi-threaded) rather than going sequentially. Going sequentially, I could just do the action, change the IP, do the action, change the IP.
