I'm new to VB and i want to make a program that calculates with the text in the textbox.So in the first 3 columns you put the names yourself and the last column displays the names from highest to lowest points and the rows in the 3 first columns have points from 100 to 10 (highest to lowest). How let i calculate vb with these column and rows so i get the name with the best result in the "totaal" column?
View 2 RepliesI am trying to get my little program to do some calculations.So far i got 15 textboxes, named TxtPP(followed by product type),so i got TxtPPproduct1, TxtPPproduct2 etc..At the bottom of the form i got a disabled textbox which shows the total of all the above textboxes.Now i don't want to use a button to click when doing the calculations.I want this to be done every time a value is added to one of the textboxes(so on lost focus).

I am trying to calculate the number of years for my calculate age event handler, however i am apparently missing a method or whatnot because im trying to calculate the age , can anyone suggest help on this. I need to subtract years to get my age but when i try the birthdate.Subtract (currentDate) method i get an error about not able to convert from LONG?

View 12 RepliesI made a sort of downloader program in Visual Basic 2010, and it downloads okey. It reports the full size of the file, and how much that has been downloaded right now and the percentage.
But, a function that i am missing is to show the user how much time is left on the current downloading. I have searched for it, but i couldn't find any solution that would work.I should also mention that i use a webclient for the actual downloading part.

I am creating a puzzle game and would like to calculate the width and height of the puzzle taking into account the original image size and the screen resolution. My screen height is 768 and width is 1366. An example image is 1200 x 1600 and the jigsaw size that works well with this image is 480 (height) x 640 (width). The purpose is that I do alot of work with remote control cars and need to acuratley set toe and camber angles, it takes to long with the "old" method So I am creating this little program. ok, so, lets see what I want to do. Well, the first thing I would like to do is draw a line from top to bottom of my picture box dead center of left to right, this is dead center of the cam so the bottom of your item should be posistioned to meet the bottom of the centre line. Textboxes are ok and binding .. fills by 1 data adapter
ComboBoxs are filled by 7 data adapters
The problem is 6 ComboBoxes data is from one table filtered by id1 i.e.:
cmb1 : select id2,content from table2 where id1 = 1
cmb2 : select id2,content from table2 where id1 = 2
cmb3 : select id2,content from table2 where id1 = 3
........

I've a problem with accessing to values of added TextBoxes. I'm adding TextBoxes in my application using NumericUpDown control (event of NumericUpDown1_ValueChanged). Pay attention to the last bit. I want to take the variable txt and split it. Then I want to take the first 10 names and display them in RichTextBox1, take the next 10 names and display them in RichTextBox2, and display the last 10 names in RichTextBox3.
I have to make a calculator for school but I'm in a big dilemma. :( The thing is, I have this calculator with three textboxes and of course digits and operators. There's two input textboxes, txtInput1 and txtInput2 and then there's the buttons from btnZero to btnNine. My operator buttons automatically do the calculation and the output comes in txtDisplay which is disabled (so that you can't write in it).
And the problem is here, I want my btnZero to btnNine move their textvalue to my txtInput1 and txtInput2 as long as they are selected (so the cursor is blinking in it). Now I use "txtInput1 = txtInput1.text & btnZero.text" sure that works, but only for one txtInput. If I can't solve this I'd have to make all the buttons twice. ;( (Edit: If I press my operator button then "txtDisplay.text = (txtInput1 "operator" txtInput2)")
