VS 2010 Constants And Calculations - Project - Input An Employees Sales And Calculate The Gross Pay
Apr 6, 2012
This is the Project that i have to make. Create a project that will input an employees sales and calculate the gross pay, deductions, and net pay. Each employee will receive a base pay of $900 plus a sale commission of 6% of sales.
After calculating the net pay, calculate the budget amount for each category based on the percentages given in the tables below:
Your Form should use text boxes to input the employees name and the amount of the sales and also use text boxes to display the results of the calculations. Provide buttons for Calculate, Clear, and Exit. Display a message to the user for any bad input data. Now i want to know for constants its going to be : commission sale, deductions and everything in Budget? I am also guessing that for the gross pay its going to be the" Gross pay = base pay * Commission" ?

I am trying to get a function so when i press the calculate button it somes up with sales totals and sales commissions. this is just a simple project i just cant find the answer.
In my form I have Gross Earnings Calculated. Then that goes to a label. I then click a button to Clear Current Employee. Then I can input another employees info to get that employees Gross Earnings. Well when I click View Summary I want to display a Total Gross Earnings. The Total Gross Earnings should be a Total of all Employees Gross Earnings.
I have this code that is supposed to calculate the gross pay based on hours and rate, the program debugs without a problem but when I click the calculate button it gives me and answer of "0.00".
Public Class frmMain Private Sub btnCalc_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnCalc.Click ' calculates and displays a gross pay amount Dim dblHoursWkd As Double [Code] .....
In the discussion in this thread: [URL] it was reveiled to me that vb.net, using double, could only calculate values up to 18 digits after decimal.... so I started thinking and came up with this class
Public Class LargeNumber Private pNumber As String
Public Sub New()
[CODE].............
I want to split the string into a series of doubles.... and than combine them into a large number.... The size of each double component should be 18 digits on a 32 bit computer... so that I will have room to add the last carrier...
The project is suppose to total the 8 commissions (in the array) I see the coding but when I try to put in a label at the bottom of the txtReport I get an error now I have deleted the box and am confused as to what my next step should be. Do I create a label box in the txtReport. I am so close to being finished.
The item "objDebugWindowsApplication1.Form1.resources" was specified more than once in the "Resources" parameter. Duplicate items are not supported by the "Resources" parameter.
Calculate and display the total cost of the sale, as well as the total cost of all sales and the average cost of all sales. - Clear the box for the number of yards, the total cost, and return the quality, padding, and installation settings back to their defaults. Use constants for the cost of each quality of carpeting ($4.95 for Fabulous Flat, $8.95 for Precious Plush, or $12.95 for Super Sculptured), the padding charge ($1.25 per yard), and the installation charge ($3.50 per yard).
My code works correctly if I do not have the DO WHILE statement, however we are suppose to have it loop. Which it will continue to ask for the salesman's name, code, etc. but when the user enters the name "eugene" the program is suppose to calculate and output the total monthly sales and the total commission dollars. What is happening is that when a user enters "eugene" the program is not recognizing it to do what it is suppose to do(calculate and output the total monthly sales and the total commission dollars) I am stuck and need assistance on how to make it recognize eugene. I am also having trouble with trying to figure out how once eugene is entered to tell the program to add the salespersoncommission and monthly sales of each case to get the totals to output to the user. Can you add the cases?
I need my program to output and input a customer ID and sales amount multiple times. I need it to display both outputs, customer ID and sales amount, on mulltiple lines. It also will need to accumulate the sales amount and then display the total sales. it should look something like that.[code...]
I think that I was supposed to use a messagebox but wrote the program a different way. the form.vb was already locked, but I added two text boxs. Not sure if I did this right because I need to enter multiple sales for one customer ID.[code...]
is there any way to populate a listbox with totals data from previous pages? I'm working on a project for a class where the final form needs to have all the totals from the previous 3 pages (each page has one total each), in some capacity (so I do not necessarily need to use a listbox if there is an easier way to do this). One thing about the previous 3 forms, two are set up in radiobuttons and one is set up w/a checkbox format (but I will likely change the radiobuttons over to checkboxes as a later revision).I just can't figure out how to populate the listbox with info from a previous form, I keep thinking load events, but that doesn't take into account which options might be taken from previous forms.once the totals from the previous forms have been added to the final form I will need to add a 7% sales tax. I assume that something such an if then statement will take care of that though.Just wanted to run that everyone here at the forum just in case there is a better way to do that.
I have a base class, with a const giving its name. If I inherit that class, how can I override the const to give the name of the new class?E.g. (and I know this won't compile!)
Public MustInherit Class BaseClass Const ClassName="BaseClass" Public Sub DisplayName MsgBox(ClassName)
[code]....
What I want is for class One to display its own name, not that of the base class.
I'm looking for a way to calculate an average from a input integer within a loop. When the user enters something like -90, the average will be calculated using the previously input numbers.
I'm trying to convert input and display in a label using a calculate button click.I need to take the input from the textbox add it to data inside a label and display it in a label (output). The data has to be validated for no negative or non numeric data. [code]Nothing is being displayed in the output label and only getting label with error msg???
I am calling this function when a button is CLICKED and received the error; The name "The" is not permitted in this context. Valid expression are constants, constants expression, and (in some contexts) variables. Column names are not permitted. Unclosed quotation mark after the character string 'True)'.
The function is as follows;
Private Sub Save() Dim conn As SqlConnection = GetDbConnection() Dim query As String Dim cmd As New SqlCommand
I am working in Visual Basic 2010 Express and have a table with 3 columns created using a SQL dataset called 'test' if you like. The table columns are called A B and C If someone enters a value of 10 in A and 15 in B, is it possible for column C to automatically add them up and come up with 25? - if so how do I start? The above is only a simple example of the problem I have, but once on the right track I am sure I can apply the same logic to the table I actually have?
OK, so my accumulator is now adding and showing properly in the form as a total. However, something is wrong in my if... then statement and it's not throwing it to the 2nd level after reaching the 125.*Edit to show updated with the Do While Loop. Now causing issues with my input error msgbox... *
do while decTotalCredits < 125 If IsNumeric(txtCredit.Text) Then ' This statement will convert the string entered to decimal and establish the
I seem to occasionally find myself trying to compare two List(of T) to see whether or not they contain the same elements. A quick check of the documentation shows the SequenceEquals method, but that appears to check whether the two lists have the same length, and have the same elements in the same order. I don't care about the order. I want to know whether two collections have the same elements. Doing this is not terribly difficult, and seems common enough, so I was expecting that there would be some function that handles it.
I have a database (SQL Server 2008) with multiple tables and records. 1 Table contains all kinds of invoice items, which have a unique id, Client ID and invoice number.
My goals is as following: - I want to show the invoice items in an datagrid, all merged as 1 invoice item (showing date, total without VAT, total with VAT, VAT percentage, VAT value and if the invoice has been paid or not.) - The datagrid should only contain the invoices for a specific client. - Should add up totals (Amount paid, Amount not paid, Amount Overdue, Total Amount) - Should be withing specific date range.
Everything in this table has been saved as varchar except invoice id and unique.
I'm trying to make a program that uses Ohms circle to calculate varying data regarding electricity, I think that if you look at my code you'll get a good idea. The problem that I'm having is that I'm using On Error Resume Next so the program will automatically find the valid calculation to calculate the value for the variable, but what's happening is that when it divides by zero (the default value for variables with no value) it gets Infinity, which it has decided IS a value, but I don't want it to be, I need a runtime error so it will bypass that calculation and go on to the next one.
'Skip erroneous statements and continue on to next line of valid code On Error Resume Next '-------------------------- 'VARIABLES '-------------------------- 'v = voltage [Code] .....
my question is regarding a calculation and control display that I am doing.
The application is a project tracker, and I am trying to calculate the total spend of the project and display it on either the first tab if it is an open project or the second tab if it is a completed project. For some reason, it is showing 0 for all but one of the projects. If anyones eyes can see the problem I would be really greatful. The code is below
I'm writing a program for my class, which pretty much is an energy cost calculator. It takes 4 inputs from 4 text boxes and multiplies them, and the result is the cost. Well, now I have to come up with a way to check for empty text boxes and display a prompt to enter a number. I've tried inserting multiple codes to display a prompt and to no avail nothing has worked, I also receive the error "when casting from a number, the value must be a number less than infinity" error.
It's being some years since i actually wrote a program in VB, last time was VB 6.So it's being a long time, and things have changed a bit.And i am still very rusty, so i need to get back into it.I got a few problems which i cant remember very well.1st question.I got several text boxes, in these text boxes there will be prices of products. The very last text box is inactive, and is supposed to show the total of all of the above.I have to declare the text boxes to contain numeric values only, so there will be no mistake when doing the calculations. But i cant remember what it was, and what the best option is to add up all the values from the text boxes.
I need some help with the input validation of my application. Attached is the code that I have written as well as a screenshot of the front end. I specifically need input validation to verify that the user selected input for cbLengthOfStay is a number between 1-10 as well as input validation to verify the user input for txtMedication, txtSurgicalCharges, txtLabFees and txtRehabilitation is a positive numerical number. Please feel free to critique my attached code. [Code]
Which is the most efficient and speedy data structure in order to carry out calculations on it?. I have seen, collections, arrays, list arrays, databases and more. I would prefer to write just straight forward code that will be effective and which I can still understand. What I would like to do initially is have the ability to add new draws to the end of the file, edit the individual files and delete lines if required.
File would then be reformatted to show the corrections made. Some kind of data entry window is envisioned. As far as number crunching goes, I would like to make counts of each number in each of the columns , calculating averages, times since last drawn and so on.
Without being too long winded, I would eventually like to find triple combinations and maybe use them as predictions. So there you have it. This way I wont have to go off on the wrong path, on a data structure that may not be able, or be too slow for the tasks at hand.
I have to make a virtual keyboard with my application which needs to input Chinese characters.
I can change the input language to Chinese, but cannot input Chinese coding as normal keyboard does...(I am using SendKeys.Send("A") as if I am pressing the "A" key on the keyboard, but the focus is on my virtual keyboard (another form other than the form of editing).)
any solution which I can get the virtual keyboard and the main task in the same application?
