VS 2010 - Combining Multiple Records And Doing Calculations

I have a database (SQL Server 2008) with multiple tables and records. 1 Table contains all kinds of invoice items, which have a unique id, Client ID and invoice number.
My goals is as following:
- I want to show the invoice items in an datagrid, all merged as 1 invoice item (showing date, total without VAT, total with VAT, VAT percentage, VAT value and if the invoice has been paid or not.)
- The datagrid should only contain the invoices for a specific client.
- Should add up totals (Amount paid, Amount not paid, Amount Overdue, Total Amount)
- Should be withing specific date range.
Everything in this table has been saved as varchar except invoice id and unique.

I originally developed a simple application software [VB.Net + MS Access] (Lets call this project A) but now I want to include more functionality in it. I have an encryption/ decryption software utility (Lets call this project B ) and a Text to speech generation utility(Lets call this project C) . That is, I want to add Projects B and C to project A. [Such that clicking on the main form of project A calls a form from project B or C as desired].In solution explorer, I right clicked--Add Existing Project--and added both the above mentioned projects 1 by 1. (Added B and C to the solution explorer with the already present A).As the application software's (Project A's) main form is the main form of my project, I want to have a menu option on the main form (Of Project A) so that a user could click on one of the menu options and the main form of my other projects ( Project B or Project C or Encrypt/Decrypt or Voice Generation) should open by him doing so. To this effect, I tried the following:
1. I dragged the form simply from one of the projects (From B or C ) into the folder of my Application Software (Project A).This generated a lot of Build errors and the Voice Generation utility (Prj. C) would not work like this.
2. Tried to reference a dll, however the authors of Projects B and C did not include a dll in their projects.
3. Now I came to know that to call a form residing in another project folder or even another folder within the same project, you have to give a path for the form. HOW DO WE DO THIS?

I'm writing a time entry program to record when an employee checks in and when they check out.I'm struggling on the part where I need to calculate a time span (time out / time in). I am selecting the In Time, Out Time, and Total columns.I want it to take the Out Time subtract it from the In Time and place that value in the Total column.I have so far and have tried several variations of different updates but have had no luck.[code]I keep getting a syntax error in the UPDATE statment.I'm not very fluent with OleDB yet and I'm not sure if I'm doing the update correctly.I have no problem with OleDB and single UPDATES or single field updates but when I am updating multiple rows with different values.

I am trying to fill a temporary table with one column( a code) with the unique results of three queries of their respective table adapters.I can't figure out how to do it from here.The database is Access 2007 and I have activated the appropriate dataset on the form from which this code executes. The table adapters are part of that dataset.I could try to use the recordset approach, but that means making another connection to the same database.Is that a preferable approach?My purpose in doing this is to build a VB process like the one that works in a VBA Module of this Accessdatabase, partly to help me learn VB2008 and partly to overcome the necessity to keep updating queries used by the module.Code below

I am combining data from multiple tables into one table for a presentation software. I am doing a select statement and running a loop. Inside that loop I have multiple selects and I build a datatable an enter the data into the main table. There is a ton of records and it takes forever.

I am writing a numerical model to perform a set of calculations within a unit, pass the output to a new unit and perform the same calculations and so on. To do so, I have created a complicated set of functions. I have various arrays which store function outputs that are used for other functions within the program. I am trying to modify the language of the program so the functions can be repeated for each unit without literally repeating each code sequence with modified variable identities. For example:

I have 2 workbooks( Book1 and Book2) with multiple sheets.I am only interested in one of the worksheets in the workbooks(both the worksheets names are the same).The thing is that the data is in the form of pivot tables, so each time i have to filter according to specific categories, copy and paste into another new workbook.The thing is column headings in both the worksheets are different,BUT BOTH the worksheets data must be combined into 1 single worksheet( row after row).
Meaning in Book1, my columns are in the form of Cost, revenue,margin and in book2, the columns are in the form of Cost,Revenue, Profit Margin %.... That means i must add a profit margin % column in Book1 and a Margin column in Book2 before I combine the data into a single worksheet. Each week, new data gets added into Book1 and Book2, so I wish to automate this by creating a code, so that when the source data changes, my new workbook's data also changes.

I currently have two stopwatches ( running in a VB 2010 program. What I would like to do is combine their values together and have their results outputted in a string formatted as 0:00:00.I tried the Add method and the + method but this fails.This is in short what I have:

I am working in Visual Basic 2010 Express and have a table with 3 columns created using a SQL dataset called 'test' if you like.The table columns are called A B and C If someone enters a value of 10 in A and 15 in B, is it possible for column C to automatically add them up and come up with 25? - if so how do I start?The above is only a simple example of the problem I have, but once on the right track I am sure I can apply the same logic to the table I actually have?

OK, so my accumulator is now adding and showing properly in the form as a total. However, something is wrong in my if... then statement and it's not throwing it to the 2nd level after reaching the 125.*Edit to show updated with the Do While Loop. Now causing issues with my input error msgbox... *

I seem to occasionally find myself trying to compare two List(of T) to see whether or not they contain the same elements. A quick check of the documentation shows the SequenceEquals method, but that appears to check whether the two lists have the same length, and have the same elements in the same order. I don't care about the order. I want to know whether two collections have the same elements. Doing this is not terribly difficult, and seems common enough, so I was expecting that there would be some function that handles it.

I'm trying to make a program that uses Ohms circle to calculate varying data regarding electricity, I think that if you look at my code you'll get a good idea. The problem that I'm having is that I'm using On Error Resume Next so the program will automatically find the valid calculation to calculate the value for the variable, but what's happening is that when it divides by zero (the default value for variables with no value) it gets Infinity, which it has decided IS a value, but I don't want it to be, I need a runtime error so it will bypass that calculation and go on to the next one.

I'm writing a program for my class, which pretty much is an energy cost calculator. It takes 4 inputs from 4 text boxes and multiplies them, and the result is the cost. Well, now I have to come up with a way to check for empty text boxes and display a prompt to enter a number. I've tried inserting multiple codes to display a prompt and to no avail nothing has worked, I also receive the error "when casting from a number, the value must be a number less than infinity" error.

It's being some years since i actually wrote a program in VB, last time was VB 6.So it's being a long time, and things have changed a bit.And i am still very rusty, so i need to get back into it.I got a few problems which i cant remember very well.1st question.I got several text boxes, in these text boxes there will be prices of products.The very last text box is inactive, and is supposed to show the total of all of the above.I have to declare the text boxes to contain numeric values only, so there will be no mistake when doing the calculations.But i cant remember what it was, and what the best option is to add up all the values from the text boxes.

Which is the most efficient and speedy data structure in order to carry out calculations on it?. I have seen, collections, arrays, list arrays, databases and more. I would prefer to write just straight forward code that will be effective and which I can still understand. What I would like to do initially is have the ability to add new draws to the end of the file, edit the individual files and delete lines if required.
File would then be reformatted to show the corrections made. Some kind of data entry window is envisioned. As far as number crunching goes, I would like to make counts of each number in each of the columns , calculating averages, times since last drawn and so on.
Without being too long winded, I would eventually like to find triple combinations and maybe use them as predictions. So there you have it. This way I won�t have to go off on the wrong path, on a data structure that may not be able, or be too slow for the tasks at hand.

This is the Project that i have to make. Create a project that will input an employees sales and calculate the gross pay, deductions, and net pay. Each employee will receive a base pay of $900 plus a sale commission of 6% of sales.
After calculating the net pay, calculate the budget amount for each category based on the percentages given in the tables below:
Your Form should use text boxes to input the employees name and the amount of the sales and also use text boxes to display the results of the calculations. Provide buttons for Calculate, Clear, and Exit. Display a message to the user for any bad input data. Now i want to know for constants its going to be : commission sale, deductions and everything in Budget? I am also guessing that for the gross pay its going to be the" Gross pay = base pay * Commission" ?

I have two problems with my datagridview in VB 2005 that I did not encounter in VB6. I would like to add multiple records to a datagridview by allowing the user to tab and type.When they get to the end of a record and tab it should go to the next record like Access does. The user can move to the next record and it even shows the pencil on the left leading them to believe that a new record is being created. But, it will not create the record unless they first click on my button that will add the record with the code BindingSource2.AddNew(). I use a bindingsource to populate the datagridview. I have problem and I've been looking for a week now on how to solve it. Yesterday I thought I solved but apparently I didn't when I tried the query with new data added in my database.Here's my query

The problem I have is: when I have a station selected there are more than 1 trajecten (connections in English) but I had to use the .first else Visual Studio would give the error "the '=' operator is not defined for 'integers' and 'system.linq. IQueryable(of integer)".
So I give the name of a station -> I have to select all trajectens with the given station as beginstation -> I have to select all ritten which have the given trajecten -> I have to select all tickets which have the given ritten So: I have to show all tickets for a certain station.

I have a form that is going to displays the same field from each of my 185 records. How do I get it to show all records for that field without using a data grid. If you think of this form as a layout of a parking lot and each field is a parking spot then what I am trying to do is display the assigned parking spots. When you click on the spot I want to open a second form that I already created to display and edit that spot.
