VS 2010 Creating Dataset, Table Adapter, Binding Source(...) And Everything Else In Code?

Can you please explain me and/or show some good tutorials how to do it?It seems pretty complicated because visual studio usually does it all for you and that made me stupid and not to do anything about it.Things I don't know to do in code but I know VS does it for me:

I'm sure there is a good tutorial somewhere on the internet. I'm okay with doing it with designer, but now when I have a situation where I can't use MDI container but tabcontrol.Other solution would be to make a MDI container out of tabcontrol. Is it posible or only other form can be MDI container.
I've made a dataset using the dataset designer, and I'm trying to add a column to reflect changes made to the database (added a column, nothing fancy). Is there a way to 'refresh' the dataset schema from the datasource without deleting my adapter (and all the methods and queries I've created)?
I have some code in my ApplicationEvent.vb to handle The problem is that I need to execute a procedure that has a dataset table adapter in it.Obviously as I want it to run in batch mode I can't have a table adapter as they are GUI based (or at least I think they are) so I am getting this error:

I have code in vb.net that was created using Visual Studio 2008. It has got queries done via data sets and table adapters. dsStagMyfileDesigner.vb and dsStagMyfile.xsd are the files having all the sql queries. They are code generated by using data table adapters I believe. Editing them might screw the system.
Only my local dataset updates when adding, deleting or editing records.The Source Database is supposed to update on issuing DataAdapter. Update(dataset )However, when I check my source database after running the operations it remains the same as the original.
I have text box which I use the properties window, datasource set to bindigsource1 in my dataset.. I want to trim the text that is being populated.. Is there a wayt o do this through the visual studio gui or is it redo in codebehind?
In a DataSetIf I right-click on a TablesetAdd QueryCreate New Stored Procedure. The creation will fail for me using a SQL 2008 database. "There was a Problem with the UPDATE stored procedure. The stored procedure was not created."If I "Preview the SQL Script..." copy it and run it manually it fails because it is not putting brackets around my user name. But is there some setting change in VS2005 to get this to work correctly in the first place?
i created a type dataset. added two table adapters and made relationship on the key. now i want to show the datagridview with master/detail. how i can do it?

I added a table to my Access database. I added that table to my dataset. Using Database Designer VB Studio, my table and tableadapter show up in the design view. The class definition is in the datasetdesigner.vb, and it shows in the object browser. But, I can't reference it in code. I am a newby and obviously missing somethning.

Re DataGridView Sorry don't really have any code - just a whole project. Basically I changed the underlying Access (accdb) Table by adding a new field, The new field shows up in the DataSources section of the Solution Explorer and in the "Edit DataSet with wizard" page but when I attach the binding source to a datagrid view, the new field is not there. I also created a new bindingsource but still not there.I just noticed I've another table where I changed the names to something more meaningful, and the old names are still there and the data for those fields doesn't display in the DataGridView
I have inherited an application at work that someone else started creating, right now about 1/2 of it is functional and is in use. My problem is that it is all done in 2.5 ?? and I am trying to step through it all to figure out how it works. I have always created my own binding sources, adapters and data tables.
One of the things I need to do is add a field to the fm_fieldman_master data table. I add the field in the db (SQL Server 2005)table, I come into VS and refresh the datasource, I then add the field to the fm_fieldman_master data table and the Fill,GetDAta() query I go into the designer and create all the attributes for the combo box
I copy/paste one datagridview from one form to another (different solutions) using two instances of VS 2005.The target form has the datagridview with all settings, including the DataSet and tableAdapter used by the original form. The datagridview also has all old settings. Everything is fine, it works as expected, with one drawback: every time I make any change in the target form surface, VS tells me that the dataset and the tableadapter are not defined and no longer loads the form in design mode giving errors mention that the dataset and the tableadapter are not defined.To be able to view the form surface in Design Mode, I have to edit the form.Designer.vb file and replace the references to the dataset and tableadapter as follows
I have a typed dataset with 2 tables and a relation between the 2 tables. The relation is a 1 to 1 relation.First, who cane help me how to bind both the fields of the parent and the child table to a textbox.And second, in the dataset designer you cane preview the data. I am newbie with vb.net and i used the wizard,I have a tableadpter that references to a sql view and it is displayed in a grid.The problem comes when i update a table that is related to the view, i only can see the changes when i restart the application.

The idea is to detect if the cell of the first datagrid column is null and display the message. However, the code is not detecting the cell as null and the table adapter is throwing the OleDb exception.

I am working on a CMS system for my business, and need to be able to generate notifications dynamically into a control panel. Please note, I am using .NET 2.0, coding with VB and my data is all held on a MySQL database.This is pretty simple for most aspects, but as the whole thing is dynamic some things are proving more difficult.I have a set of tags which are dynamically generated with a repeater as follows:

The data is really, really, simple, all I need to be able to do is query a table on my MySQL database for COUNT of ID WHERE locationName = Container.DataItem during each loop of the repeater... but I don't know how to do this.I'm thinking maybe I have to do this first, create a table in memory somehow, but I am afraid I have no idea how to achieve this.
Has anyone got any examples of a similar thing, it's kind of binding to a repeater from two datasources... each task is very simple, but I don't know how to put it all together!
I'm trying to accomplish that every time I click + on binding navigator, datetimepicker get the today date. Not only on the form, but on the binding source also.After previewing saved data, the date cell of datagridview is empty.That doesn't happen when I select wished date manually on the form, only when I enter it in code.

But I'm having trouble just getting the bare-bones code to run properly!Downloaded both the source & install folders from [URL] Created a new VB Web Application Project Took out all the default pages Copied the Survey source code into the VB Web Application Project in exactly the same structure Made a batch script that creates an installation folder identical to DNN's install folder (double-checked by running a folder-diff on it, and all files/folders were identical) Zipped up my installation folder using 7-zip The source code compiles perfectly. But even though the files/folders are identical, DNN's zipped package will work properly on my DNN site, and my own zipped package will fail with this famous error message:

I have a data table whose one column is related to a column of another table. I have a listbox in a form which shows a column (which is sorted by another column value by ORDER clause) of the parent table and other columns are in textboxes. The child table is represented by a datagrid. When I add a new item in parent table and click save, the newly created item is listed at the bottom of the listbox violating my ORDER clause. When I wrote some codes to fill data again after updating, it shows an error message[code]...
I have connected my sql db with vb and I m trying to make a UI. My question is that when I write code in order to create datatables and I fill them with the results of queries I've created, where do these datatables belong? I'm wondering if I have to define a new dataset or do they belong to the existed dataset which is created by the dataset configuration wizard??
I have a search page in my application where I am searching the database for the records that meet the specified conditions that the user selects. All of this works by creating the dataset, datatable, and dataadapter in the code. I then take a created bindingsource link it to the created datatable and then attach the bindingsource to my datagridview to display the results. Now what I am trying to do is to figure the Mean, Median, Mode and Standard Deviation of the results that were found above. My question is how to I run a select query on the code created table. I have the select query I want to use and when I try to use it in the code it talks about the connection. Now I have a dataset that is part of the project and I have the on just for the search page. Let me know if you need any code samples.
