And another question, off-topic. Which operators can be replaced with VB.net operators: IsNumeric, Mid, Microsoft.VisualBasic.Left.
The function checks for the input only the digits.

Microsoft.VisualBasic.Left(.Text, .SelectionStart - 1) &_

my problem is that when I try to write a exe application for measuring the cpu usage every time I get the error:
A first chance exception of type 'System.InvalidOperationException' occurred in System.dll
A first chance exception of type 'System.FormatException' occurred in mscorlib.dll
The code I use is: [Code] And I get the above error,I searched a little in the internet but the most post were for database optimization and so on.
When i add an attachment to my email and click send i get an error.

Working with an If statement I have tried the following
If -0.6 > (LLum_Gline(8).X - LLum_Gline(12).X) > 0.6 Then
patient_frm.llum_gline = 2
MsgBox("Measurement is Abnormal")
End If
I am getting an error message that says Argument out of range exception unhandled. I have double checked and verified that LLum_Gline(8).X and LLum_Gline(12).X are in fact valid.Is my problem simply in how i am phrasing the If statement. Is there a way for me to phrase what im doing without writing multiple if statements?
have anyone experience this error? I try to share my project to the other computer and i got this error:

I have a large project where we have 2-3 dll projects that are converted from VB6 to VB.NET. We have fixed all the issues that caused compilation errors, and most of obvious issues in running, so now we have basically a program up and running. The exe is created from scratch in VB.NET, using a lot of functionality from the converted dll's (including GUI forms). What I wonder is when I run the program in debug mode, I get a bunch of warnings in the "Immediate Window" saying:
A first chance exception of type 'System.Exception' occurred in Microsoft.VisualBasic.dll
...and some of other type (but most of them in Microsoft.VisualBasic.dll).I was wondering if this is common in projects converted from VB6, or if it is caused by bad design in our code...
I have a project that reference from leadtools 16.5, and after that, i want to run my project..i see am error like it " An error occurred creating the form. See Exception.InnerException for details. View 8 RepliesA friend of mine has requested my assistance in making a "panic button" application where you place the directory, click a button and boom. Directory deleted. You might assume this may not be the most legal application. I have already figured out how to delete directories due to this MSDN post. My code is near the exact same.
My problem is, I want to make sure the button is fully intentional. So I added a MsgBox with Yes, No, and Cancel. As you can see below:

I am using VB.NET 2005 to create a Windows forms application. I have a procedure named SendMail that creates an instance of Outlook.Application, to send an email from my application. I found the code on this forum, I think.The procedure works fine, but I can't use error handling with it.I call the procedure from a button click event. I put the procedure call in a try/catch block, and the application won't build, with the following error.
Error 68 'Catch' cannot catch type 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.Exception' because it is not 'System.Exception' or a class that inherits from 'System.Exception'. C:datadevdmtiQTSQTSv7_1_20100212wQTSQTSReportsCriteria

All of a sudden i'm getting this error "A first chance exception of type 'System.ArgumentException' occurred in System.Drawing.dll"Here is a print screen of it, including the part of code it's coming from - http://img190.imageshack.us/img190/6908/37996913.png
I haven't changed anything except i removed 1 line of code "If Len(imgPicture) = 0 Then Exit Sub" from a different function. Then ran the project and it keeps throwing this error.
I am doing a project of insert,delete,update and search of customers in a windows application. But I have the problem on the search part. The search part is that I am searching by telephone. if its possible to have a msgbox cleared without having the user do it manually? what would be my best option here?
View 8 RepliesUsing MS Visual Studio 2010 Express, when trying to debug, the build finishes and the following error below appears. It doesn't seem to effect the running of the program.
The error is:
An exception was encountered while constructing the content of this frame. This information is also logged by running the application with the /log parameter on the command line, which stores results in "C:Documents and SettingsCorkyApplication
DataMicrosoftVBExpress10.0ActivityLog.xml".
Exception details:
System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80040154): Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG))[code].....
I can't find the "ActivityLog.xml" file the message references.
I was scripting a very basic process manager, with a ListView component, and it was working fine for many days, up until now.Here is the code for getting processes:
Dim Process As New Process()
Dim Count As Integer = 0
ListView1.Items.Clear()[code].....
The line of code where I put "*WIN32 EXCEPTION LINE* keeps running into an error(Win32 Exception was unhandled; Access is denied). Here is the full error description:
System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception was unhandled
ErrorCode=-2147467259
Message=Access is denied[code]....
As I said before, this had been working for several days, up until now.
I have inherited a VB.NET project which was created in VS 2003 and is now in VS 2010. It works fine on one macine (32 bit). However, on my Win7 64 bit machine it simply won't build or run. I get an error saying "xxx is not a valid Win32 application. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800700C1) Line 4762, position 5"

I'd like to display a form with some information on it (i.e. this is what's happening now inside the program) and essentially two buttons, "dismiss" and "halt" that would either close the form & continue processing, or tell the code to stop right away.
I can do all of that, no problem. What I ALSO want, though, is that if NO button is pressed within 5 seconds, then the "dismiss" option happens automatically. That way if I'm away from my desk, I can see what was happening from the logs, and the processing doesn't pause until I get back. But at the same time, if I DO happen to be watching the screen & see something I want to investigate, I can halt things right now.

In the msgbox the LauncherExe isn't changed!?
I have what might just be the most retarded problem ever...the thing is, I have this loop, and it runs just fine(except for the boringness it is to run it) if I use Msgbox("whatever") after some of its lines. But it won't run otherwise...I guess it has to do with the time my local server takes to awnser, but I tried System.Threading.Thread.Sleep() up to 10000 and nothing worked...even tough it did on msgbox's which I went trough faster than those. I am building a very basic local program to test my website for vulnerabilities,a s you can probably figure by the code.
Also, how can I clean Webbrowser1 cookie's?
Here is the code
Public Class Form1
Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
[Code]....
Taking the following
vb.net
Dim ImageMagick As String = ""
Dim convert As String = ""
Dim mogrify As String = ""
[Code]...
When I run it, it works because I have MsgBox() in there (at the end of the script). As soon as I remove MsgBox() it stops working properly, why?
What it should do: When the program loads, it will call my sub, the sub will check to see if the two files exist, if they don't exist a folder dialog box is opened and you select the folder that they are in, it will then call it's self again and do the same thing. If the files do exist it should continue with the program.
The Problem is, that it only works the way I want when I have the MsgBox() function there otherwise it only works if you select the correct folder the first time the dialog pops up.
I imported an app from vb6 to vb.net It works fine. It has one axmsflexgrid control. Now I want to add another axmsflexgrid control in the same app. I tried to copy and paste from one frame (groupbox) to another and got this error:
"An error occurred while processing this command: Exception from HRESULT:0x800A018A (CTL_E_GETNOTSUPPORTED)"
An inputs on how would I fix this? Or just make a new axmsflexgrid?
ok so i viewed some other question that are ruffly the same and i am still confused, here is the stacktrace
