When I run it, it works because I have MsgBox() in there (at the end of the script). As soon as I remove MsgBox() it stops working properly, why?
What it should do: When the program loads, it will call my sub, the sub will check to see if the two files exist, if they don't exist a folder dialog box is opened and you select the folder that they are in, it will then call it's self again and do the same thing. If the files do exist it should continue with the program.
The Problem is, that it only works the way I want when I have the MsgBox() function there otherwise it only works if you select the correct folder the first time the dialog pops up.
At the moment my problem is when the function is called If I run it without line 3' MsgBox("bfdbfbniu") the x & y aren't being returned, however when I put a msgbox they are? I don't understand why it would work with a textbox, in comparison to without one. I honestly think the msgbox() should have no effect;
'If CPU is second If count4win = 1 Then MsgBox("bfdbfbniu")
I'd like to display a form with some information on it (i.e. this is what's happening now inside the program) and essentially two buttons, "dismiss" and "halt" that would either close the form & continue processing, or tell the code to stop right away.
I can do all of that, no problem. What I ALSO want, though, is that if NO button is pressed within 5 seconds, then the "dismiss" option happens automatically. That way if I'm away from my desk, I can see what was happening from the logs, and the processing doesn't pause until I get back. But at the same time, if I DO happen to be watching the screen & see something I want to investigate, I can halt things right now.
I have what might just be the most retarded problem ever...the thing is, I have this loop, and it runs just fine(except for the boringness it is to run it) if I use Msgbox("whatever") after some of its lines. But it won't run otherwise...I guess it has to do with the time my local server takes to awnser, but I tried System.Threading.Thread.Sleep() up to 10000 and nothing worked...even tough it did on msgbox's which I went trough faster than those. I am building a very basic local program to test my website for vulnerabilities,a s you can probably figure by the code.
Also, how can I clean Webbrowser1 cookie's?

i have 4 TextBoxes, TextBox1, TextBox2, TextBox3, TextBox4..When i press the button1 If any of them is blank, i want to get the message "You cannot leave any text field blank!" and do not execute the command from the other side, if the user has input text it should execute the commands..How can i do this, because if i had 1 text box it would be easy to make it now i have 4 and i don't know what to do!
I have a simple tcp server listening for clients. I use a mud client to test if it's working. The mud client says that it's connected to 127.0.0.1, but the server doesn't show the msgbox that a client has connected.[code]
It is a word scrambler in which the user must guess the word that is scrambled. It is not completed obviously but the code only works with one form. As soon as I include other forms for title screens and the likes, the code doesn't work at all. Here it is (This is the multiform version):

Ive had success using the GET method to retrieve a series of web pages but my new challenge requires me to use a POST > GET combo. I can get it to work once just fine but no more. I get the feeling that something isnt closing or completing properly. When I try to do the second GetRequestStream() I can see from my sniffer app that nothing is being sent so when the next command to stream the POST data to the request session it fails. I removed it all from the loop and simplified it as much as possible. Can someone tell me why it fails?
Also as a general question is my tack or reusing WebRequests viable? Or is there a best practice for looping a POST > GET combo? Ive been assuming that since nothing in the WebRequest changes besides the post data Im sending, even its length remains the same, that I should be able to re-use it.
Dim Cookie As New CookieContainer Dim encoding As New UTF8Encoding Dim byteData As Byte()

Note: The section after the Experimental comment is a surrogate for the second iteration of the loop. The GET that normally follows the POST section has been removed.
I have a program that uses the mouse to find window captions. I made a test program that just does that and it works fine. I copied and pasted the code into my other program and it doesn't work. The mouse position changes, but it will only get the caption of a window if it is at the top of the screen. It seems that only the Mouse.X position is changing, but I put the MousePosition.X and Y in a label and they are both changing. Can anyone explain why this is happening?

I have an app that moves the mouse, and does a click on the screen however, it seems to work great on windows XP machines, and when i try it on my windows 7 box, the window dosent close, or do anything..
I typically will hit my "execute" button, that will minize the window, then i place my cursor where i want it to go, and hit space bar, and it should move my mouse up a few spaces, click, and move to the next.. But again, winXP it works fine, win7 dosent do anything.

I'm trying to make a email client but my biggest problem is finding a component that is (preferably) free. I need one that works with IMAP and POP3. Also would be nice if it could handle sending emails (Via SMTP). It would also be great if it worked with gmail.
need to know exactly how does the API functions Read/Whrite Process works. I'm so confused while working. I know that I have to work using something like sectors. But I don't know how. Can someone give me an example. I dont know hoe to do it. for an example, for you to give me. Create a basic programa with a button and a textbox the button searchs what is in the textbox in a process memory. Search the title of a program for example.
I am running a website for a F1 racing game, where users can submit their laptimes and compete with each other for the fastest time.
I am now trying to have my website create an image of the top-5 users every... 5 minutes or something, and copy it to the webserver somewhere I can link to. This way the image under that link will update with the latest information every 5 minutes.
To layout the times (these also include the position (1 to 5), the username, the platform, the time of course, and some more details) I am using a DataGridView. I could take the long route and layout the specific 'columns' manually, but I thought using a grid was far easier. I simply set some properties of the grid to make it look nothing like a grid (basically hide the column and row headers and grid lines and give everything the same backcolor). Then I load the times into the grid, and take an image of it using the Control.DrawToBitmap method.
This works fine, but it returns the entire grid. This is a problem because I made the grid extremely large (5000x5000) so that it can always accommodate the times regardless of the length of the usernames. So, the image I get is 5000 pixels wide while it only contains data in the first 500 px orso.
I am currently using the GetRowDisplayRectangle and GetColumnDisplayRectangle methods to figure out the part of the grid that actually displays the times, and use that to cut the image down to the portion I need.
But here's a problem: these methods only return something when the grid is on a form that is currently being shown! I am already giving the grid a parent form (even though I am just creating it in memory and it doesn't need to be displayed anywhere) because otherwise the data wouldn't load, but I was never showing that form. Now it turns out I do need to show the form, very briefly, in order to figure out the area that I need to take a snapshot from.
Remember that this is all happening on a webserver, so I'm not absolutely sure if this is a problem. Is it ok for a webserver to have a form popping up and down every 5 minutes? Or will this cause problems? I honestly don't know but I don't think it's a good thing. Moreover, it also pops up on my own machine when I'm testing, and it's damn annoying.
So my question is basically twofold:
1. Maybe I should ask this in the ASP.NET forum, but is it a problem to show a form briefly every 5 minutes?
2. Is there any other way to get these Get...DisplayRectangle methods to work without having the grid on a physically visible form?
I have a code keypress that automatically input a text in a particular textbox if the text i pressed match the fields.eg. when I type 32 in the ID textbox . The name of the person whos ID is 32 will be put on the name text.it works perfectly but when I use autocomplete on the textbox it will not work anymore. is their a way or can anyone tell me why it isnt working.?

I am not stuck with the code side but rather what seems an issue when using VB and creating well verifying an Twitter Account. I have tried to explain as best as possible but please ask if you need more info
I am currently well on the way to finishing my Twitter Account Creator which also verifies and completes the profile fields but I have encountered a problem and for once not a problem relating to the code side of things at least I don't think it is.
At the moment for testing reasons I have 2 buttons one which creates the account and a second which verifies the account now I am using incognitomail.com (temp email provider) and have 2 web browsers running within my VB program. 1 is for Twitter and 1 is for Incognitomail.com I have no problems clicking and navigating to the verify link and then logging in to verify the Twitter Account but it never verifies and I cannot figure out why.
Say I put another text box and used it to navigate to url's on web browser 1 (twitter) and copied the verify link and put it in the text box it navigates I login and its the fine the account is verified but if I set VB to navigate (can't click because it opens in IE and not within the VB web browser) to the verify link it never verifies I have even tried making the text box fill and then navigate via that just as if a human was doing it but still no luck.
Does anyone have any idea as to why these Twitter Accounts are not verifying when the VB program performs the navigating to the verify link then login but if I do it myself i.e copy the verify link put it in the text box which navigates the web browser then it verifies fine? This is the one step standing in the way from my program being about to create and verify accounts and will not cost a fortune as this was a personal project to counter the lack of Twitter Creators which both work fully and are cheap.

I'm developing an application in vb.net. You drag any type of file onto the exe, and a window pops up with some options for the file, then it saves the file to a different location, works some SQL magic, etc. It works great for the most part. The only issue I've found is that if the path of the file contains any spaces, the application will crash immediately with the error window:[URl]..I'm using: Private filename as String = Command$ This is located right inside my form's class declaration, not within a sub/function.Without this line, my program runs fine (although useless, without accessing the file).I've also tried (I think this was it, I don't have the code with me at the moment): Private filename as String = Environment.CommandLine So, in vb.net, is there a way to drag a file onto an exe and use that path name, even if there are spaces in the path name?
I have one tool which we developed on visual studio 2010. there are basically two parts of my project, one is UI part which i wrote in VB and algorithm part which is in C++ on back end. When we compile C++ part it creates a .dll which is used by my front end VB program.
Now my problem is little weird since i am compiling and deploying this tool on windows xp machine but some of the users are using windows 7 64 bit machines and after running the program for about 5-10 minutes, it crashes on windows 7 with following error
Not enough storage is available to process this command and when i view details of that error, i get the following description.
See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

And another question, off-topic. Which operators can be replaced with VB.net operators: IsNumeric, Mid, Microsoft.VisualBasic.Left.
The function checks for the input only the digits.
