VS 2010 Extra Pages In ReportViewer

1. I get an empty page at the end of a report. I have 4 pages instead of 3, 8 instead of 7 and so on. I see and print these empty pages. The report width less than the page width minus margins, so this cannot be the reason of my problem. How can I get rid of these pages?
2. If I have a few controls ReportViewer then to print the report I must to press each print button on each ReportViewer, and each ReportViewer prints with a new page. Have I possibility to print all the ReportViewers consequently pressing one button and to continue the report?

I'm using Report Viewer(VS 2008) to make a report in VB.net. I add Table with Table Header, Table Detail, and Table Footer. Then insert a Table Group(table1_group1) and add expression =IntRowNumber Nothing-1/10 on that group. I check page breaks at end.
When I load the report its show normal :
page 1 : page header+ table header + table detail(10 list data) + page footer
page 2 : page header+ table header + table detail(5 list data) + table footer + page footer
But when I click Print Layout Icon its show an extra page(page 3):
page 1 : page header+ table header + table detail(10 list data) + page footer
page 2 : page header+ table header + table detail(5 list data) + page footer
page 3 : page header + table footer + page footer ( this is the error)
I also try to print the report and its print 3 page.

My boss has given me an asp.net web application that was done by his former employee. Now my boss has no contact with that employee. He wants me to make some changes in that web application. I went through the application. There is no documentation present for that application . Its a huge application. It contains many directories. I think it was a team work. It has many asp pages, aspx pages, jsp pages, xml pages, css pages, etc... How to understand other person or team's website or web application that was written in asp or asp.net and vb or vb.net?

my application uses a login form to connect to a remote SQL database, which uses SQL authentification. Normally, I define a connectionstring at design time which I complete with the username and password at run time.I now need to implement a ReportViewer which needs a connectionstring. I want it to use the existing connection however it obviously does not see the coded connectionstring, so I decided to add the connectionstring in app.config.

I am creating some reports using object datasources.in my software the user can create a list of products specifying a code, the product name, the price and the vat rate (this last two attributes will be used as suggestions when the user will place the product inside an order).When a user creates an order he can place products within it by specifying for each product the quantity and he can also override the suggested price and the vat rate.So basically i have two models to represent the products:
ProductModel (used to define product name, product code and the default suggestion for price and vat rate)OrderProductModel (used to place products within an order, specify the quantity and override the default product suggestion for price and vat number)

I have a ReportViewer showing a report that is bound to a dataset. The dataset gets its data from a Access database backend. I have a separate form that allows the user to add/update/delete data. My problem is when the user makes changes to the data using the data entry form, the report does not reflect those changes. I have to close the entire program and reopen it before the changes take effect on my report. This piece is used to bound the report to the dataset

So my program works off a few templates in a folder called "Templates".So far, i have been deploying my program as though it would run from a CD. Deleting the autorun file, inserting the Templates folder myself, and then using a self extracting ZIP to make it easy for the user to install.While this works, i would like to make it easier on myself by just including the Templates folder and the two template files (both .xls files) in the program every time i deploy.I've tried dragging and dropping the folder + files into my solution explorer bin folder but it doesn't work.I'm using Visual Basic 2010 Express.

I wrote a small API gui to communicate over foundation fieldbus.I've used a While loop that constantly reads some parameter values from the bus. At the end of the While loop, I put Application.DoEvents()so that I can use another button to stop the reading process. It all seems good and easy.. but there's one problem: when I get the While loop running and wish to stop the process, I have to first click somewhere on the form, anywhere, before I could click any buttons(either 'stop reading' or 'reset' button mostly). That extra click makes my form seem unresponsive and lame.I wonder whether this is a problem pertaining to DoEvents() or my use of Foundation fieldbus.

I have an rdlc report that always produces the last page in blank. In this page, the header and the footer are printed but no data is shown (all data finishes in the previous page). I already checked and re-checked the horizontal and vertical printable areas and all the report definitions fit into these areas (if not, a blank page will be produced in between each page, I guess). If the report has one page, two pages are printed, if there are ten pages with data, eleven pages are printed

How can i store unlimited multi-row strings without the need of extra files?Example: the user enter a multi-row string into a textbox and clicks save. Then the program should save that somewhere. And then the user enters another string and clicks save. And then there is a combobox where it can choose between those 2 strings to load.Can i save them in some sort of collection like My.Settings.Collection? Where each text also has a header.

Where can I find resources on authoring Reports. Say, I have a VB project and I want to add reports to it, do I have to add a ReportViewer for each report or can I use one ReportViewer for all?
What is the difference between a Report created using the Report Server Project of the Business Intelligence Projects and one created using the Visual Basic/Reporting Project tab? Which one is more suited for creating reports?Only performance counts!

I am using Stanav's PdfManipulation2.AddImageToPage(..., Pages) for iTextSharp library (v5.1.3) and was not able to add the image to specific pages: e.g. to add to only page 1 and 3 of a five pages PDF

Calling AddImageToPage() with the the optional Pages parameter will add the image to all pages though.

I have a form on a .NET webserver using aspx pages with the vb code-behind pages. The form collects the entered data and then emails it, that part works fine.Right after it gets emailed, this code checks to see if the email was sent or not and then updates the landing page accordingly. I have heard of setting server specs to have HTML pages parsed as PHP pages by changing the .htaccess or httpd.conf files. Is there a similar solution to have HTML pages parsed as ASPX pages?
A website I am working on does not want their PageRank to lower since their HTML pages are already indexed and used on other websites but wants to use some dynamic features of aspx pages (like include the navigation file so that changes to the nav will only have to be done in that one file).

I am working on a printing kiosk and it should handle PDF.When printing PDF I need to get the number of pages the PDF has, so that I can charge the user accordingly.The kiosk will support Word*, PowerPoint*, and Excel* (2010) and I print these files to PDF by Microsoft.Office.Iterop.* namespace.And then print the resulting PDF file to a physical printer. If the file is already a PDF then just print. What would be the best way to get the number of pages the PDF has. Also Printing via code and setting parameters such as paper_size.

I need to change which pages of a tab control are available at different times. Right now I'm just disabling the unwanted tabs (TabControl1.TabPages(x).Enabled = False), but I've got a user who can't comprehend why she can still view the tab page if she can't use it.
So I need to either hide the tabs altogether or disable them such that you can't switch to that tab page at all.

I've been programming in VB6 for years, I have decided to take the plunge into VB.net and C# 2010 but having a little problem understanding the big picture.In VB6 I could create user controls and save them as .ocx files, then use those .ocx's in other programs or on html pages. I am sure the same idea is present in VS 2010, I'm just not seeing it.Can anyone recommend a book or tutorial that will show me the big picture of all the aspects of the .net environment?

I have a Search web reference (from a Search Server 2010 express install) in a vb.net application that is utilizing the QueryService Class to search a production Sharepoint foundation 2010 site.At a previous point in time, we had created a proof of concept on an entirely test system that has since been turfed. From my recollection on this test system when documents were uploaded as a specific site content type (that inherits from document) and metadata was provided, we could search for specific metadata by making managed properties for each, and search results would be returned as documents (with the isdocument flag set to true). Viewing the document then became simple, as we could simply use the filename and path to display the stored file.Now we are developing a production system and we have encountered a new behavior, where these results now are returned as aspx results such as

This of course makes it terribly difficult to locate and view the document, we can extract the Title which will then give us the name of the file with no extension, but that hardly helps, as the FileExtension data is aspx, not the documents file extension, so we don't have a full filename. We could display the page returned as a result, but would much prefer the document itself.
I've made a test document library, with just bare bones setup, (not using the site content type, or site columns) and uploaded some documents on the same site, and they are returned in the same fashion, so I don't believe the document library, or content type are the issue.
With a fairly limited understanding of both Sharepoint and Search Server, I don't know if this is a setup issue with the search service itself, with the site configuration, or with the querypacket I am sending. We also have a third party application (Knowledgelake) installed on the server that ties into sharepoint which could have changed configuration somewhere as well?
I don't think the query packet has changed since it was working in the proof of concept, other than the custom data column names. I will provide it here in case there is something glaringly obvious to an external reader.

I would like to use the control on a simple Visual Basic 2008/Access 2007 solution.In the application all the application database communication is done programmatically.No binding with any text boxes or any of the controls.I can't find on MSDN, my books or googleing how to do anything with ReportViewer programmatically.I added a winform to my project on which i added the reportviewer for starters put can't figure out how to get anything done.

ReportViewer is a component I use frequently. Imagine my surprise in VS2010 when I find that a project MUST use the 4.0 framework choice or the toolbox will not display the component. I am trying to use a 2.0 project for compatability reasons. No matter how I try to reference the WinReportViewer it will not work unless I update the project for 4.0 framework.MS, I don't understand what this means for upgrade path for old projects being opened in VS2010. We are a VS2008 shop and it would be horrible to upgrade a bunch of projects to 2010 only to find that ReportViewer is no longer supported by 2.0 framework.

I want to render a report directly to pdf. I have an objectdatasource with 2 parameters. I obtain these parameters from a hiddenfield on the webform and from the datakeyname on a gridview. The report works when I load it in report viewer without rendering to pdf. I am using the Microsoft ReportViewer 2005 in one of my VB.NET apps and a couple of users are having image display problems (red X) on the reports. They have the correct version of the WinForms DLL on their system and the app does verify that the image file exists before passing the location to the ReportViewer. This problem was reported on XP and Vista.No other users have reported this problem and it is not something that I can reproduce, so I am stumped.This is a sample file path that is passed to the ReportViewer,
