Feb 27, 2011Is it possible to get the network information of another program/Process like Bytes sent and Bytes received. I looked under the Process class but that didn't yield any results.

Find 64-bit Process Info Using A 32-bit Process?
May 2, 2011I have a 32 bit application that shells a second application that can be 32 or 64-bit depending upon the computer it's running on. I only want one instance of the second application to run at a time, and I need the first application to prevent the second from being launched more than once. I want to be able to use GetProcessesByName to obtain the running processes. This seems to work fine. It's when I attempt to obtain the module data to find out what folder the second application was run from that things fall apart.

May 19, 2010I need to be able to get the current users LAN id using VB.NET and then use this info to pull out the phone number and full name and perhaps other dept info from the address book in outlook. The application I am building is web based in VS 2008, and the users will access the site once they have logged into the companies network. So I need to obtain their LAN ID. They will then be able to send an email using the smtp client. I need the email to send the lan ID of the person as well as include the address book info in the subject. how to use the smtp client.

VS 2008 Getting 32/64 Bit Info For Shelled Process?
Oct 30, 2009So I transitioned over to Win 7 64 bit, and am starting to incorporate it into my program. I understand that My.System.FileSystem.SpecialFolders.ProgramFiles will resort to x:Program Files if the host system is 64 or 32 bit. However, if the host is 64, and the program is 32 bit, one would need to acess x:Program Files (x86).
My question is this:How can I test an executable to see if it is 32/64 bit, and then apply the proper program folder?

Nov 19, 2011I am working on a small VB application that listens for commands sent from an Android app.
One of the functions is to extract an archive. I am familiar with how to listen for the unrar process to finish, so I can display a progressdialog on the phone while the extraction is happening, and clear it as soon as it's done.
BUT ... if there is an error/alert from WinRAR, WaitForExit() never gets called because WinRAR is still sitting there open until I click "OK" on the MsgBox.
For Example ... if you try to extract a file that is not actually an archive... an alert will pop up saying "No Archives Found", and basically everything is halted on the VB app and the Android app, and the Android app just sits on a progressdialog saying "extracting..." until you manually hit "OK" on the computer.
As you can imagine, this is a problem if the whole point of your app is to NOT have to go over to the computer.
So... I am wondering if there is something similar to WaitForExit() that will wait for an error and allow me to close out the alert and let the process end.

One of them is a MySQL server, one will have a vb.NET program wich will act as a "second server" and the rest will be different clients. What I want to do is that the "second server" will send out some kind of message or network package to some of the clients in the network, and they will execute a code based on what message it is, or what kind of package it is. Jun 4, 2009I have written a windows service that is meant to launch a notepad when a specific action happens. The problem i have is that even though the service launches notepad, the actual notepad it self is NOT visible. I know that it has been launced because i can see the process in the task manager. By the way the process is listed as a SYSTEM process rather than a process under my user name (i believe that is because my process is a "LocalSystem" one).

Feb 23, 2012I am trying to get my project to be able to save the data been input from a user. I have uploaded a screen shot of the dialog I am currently trying to use. You will see that I have got a combobox for member at the top. What I want is when the "new" button gets clicked then I can add the desired information then click "Ok buttton which will then save the information.
I want to be able to select members from the combobox after multiple have been recorded to be able to delete or edit them. I have got as far as "changing" the combobox to a textbox for input purposes. I have tried a few attempts to get it. I am getting "ConfigurationErrorsException was unhandled"

This works great, but I need to add extra info after "RB_REF:" and "KT_REF:" (e.g: RB_REF: 12345 / KT_REF:6789) Those values are located in another table. How do I change the code/query so it also get the necessarily records from that table? Obviously there is a column "kan_id" with same values. I can't merge the tables btw.
