So I have this program which I can use to drag files in it and do something with it, and when I run it as administrator, it doesn't let me drag the files in at all, but when I run it normally it does. Is there a reason behind this? And how would I go about fixing it?

We have a .net win forms application, using .net 3.5. Application runs from a terminal server, users access it with Citrix client. when users run this app memory usage goes higher and hiher and it never comes back. even tough we put objects with dispose and set to nothing also the memory usage is not comming down. it starts wuth 75 mb and goes up to 500 mb. it is a 32 bit application.
how can we find the exact problem with the application. the bahaviour is almost same when we run our development box locally.

I am currently working on a program for a higher or lower card game. I have my game set up and in place, however I am having trouble keeping track of the cards that have already been drawn from the deck. I am only playing with one deck and need to make sure that once a card is drawn it is placed in a discard pile and will not be drawn again. I did not post my code due to other students in my class using this forum for their version of the assignment. View 1 RepliesI've got my program running, but when I start it up on Vista, it does so quite slow. I need it to start up faster, I was fiddling around in task manager to check it was actually started and just taking a while, and I noticed it had the priority "BelowNormal", which I'd like to change.
How can I do this from the registry? I've got it starting up, but how do I add a parameter for the process to be started with a higher priority (I.E, normal, abovenormal, high, realtime, etc., I need to test which is suitable).
For some reason when i run a script to move an image based on an entered value the image stops moving on any value higher than 10, and i cant figure out why. here is a sample script

The problem is that after the SelectedIndex = 9 it won't read properly the SelectedIndex = 10, it seems like it consider only the first number (1) instead of the whole one (10). In fact get the same result as if it was SelectedIndex = 1
The situation: when i build my project (or publish) Visual Basic 2010 makes and exe and a couple ddl files. when i run the project with the .exe and the other files the program works perfectly.
My problem: I want to share it with friends and it is just a verry little program ( a n internet radio) so i want it to be 1 .exe with out any other instalation needed so i can easly share it to anyone who wants it. when i make an even smaller program and Debud->build it, it is only 1 exe and no instalation needed. so is there a way to make my program to 1 exe only?

The problem is it freezes up the program and makes it unusable. I fixed it using timers but it makes my program real sloppy and hard to edit.
I was wondering if it would be possible to monitor a programs audio output and identify when its on / off? I'm coding a carpc frontend and would like to mute the audio when the navigation program speaks directions.

I am working on a program which makes tables in MS WORD. But there are many parameters that should be asked. Its so embarrassing to ask all of them with inputbox while codes are working. I made forms for each tables which will be created. While codes are working, when it is the time to create table, form appears and user inputs the datas and press OK button and table is build according to these datas in MS Word. Im trying to make a program that makes a user type in a password, then open a folder where the user can put files. but once they close out of the file browser. the program needs to save the files and remove the directory. for example think of a file cabinet being the program, and the drawer being the temp folder. when the user closes the drawer, it goes back into the cabinet, or in this case the program.

I am trying to create a program in Visual Basic which will measure the performance of the CPU with every core, one at a time. In this program, I decided to place a couple of text boxes that display the processor speed and the actual processor speed. I need to get the actual processor speed to update and I have tried doing this already using a timer set to tick every second. However, when I load the program it runs really slowly and prevents me form doing anything within the program, including trying to close it down, and all it does is updates the text box every second. I have looked in task manager to find out how much CPU the program is using and it shows that my program is using 0 - 3% CPU.

I have a custom NumericUpDownColumn in my DataGridView. Problem is that when I type in a 0 in those cells it automatically changes to DBNull, this causes all sorts of problems with other code. I found the code for the custom column through a google search and don't know enough code to actually go through it and fix the problem myself. If I change the column to a TextBox column instead, it shows a 0 instead of DBNull and everything works as it should. So I figured the problem must be within the code for the custom column.
