My program writes text to a multiline textbox. After the input is finished, the cursor is at the end of the text. I want the program to position the cursor at the start of the text so that I can see it.
MSDN suggests:-
tbPositionCursor.Select(0, 0)
I believe the cursor is now repositioned, but I cannot see the start of the text. How do I scroll back automatically, refresh or whatever so that I can see the start of the text?

View 1 RepliesI have created a maskedtextbox to do a simmple validation >L99999. My problem is when the user clicks on the empty box the cursor stays where they clicked it, not at the beginning of the box as it would with a normal textbox. I have found some suggestions but these all seem to affect the way the cursor moves within the box rather than just changing the start position. As far as the end user is concerned the box should behave just as any other textbox but with validation.

View 9 RepliesSo i am working on a GUI for a game (just some messing around in VB.net tho) and i came across the following problem. The board of my game consists of a 70*35 grid of RectangleShapes on which i can move around. When i start my program it renders the board from right to left on the screen and i have serious lag when i try to move around on it. I know you'd normally use double buffering to reduce flickering, but that didn't do anything (unless i'm doing it wrong).
This is my code:
Code:
Dim player As Player = New Player
Dim board(70, 35) As RectangleShape
#Region "Initialisation"

View 4 RepliesIs there any specific reason why camel casing examples often start with a lower case letter?
E.G:Dim btnSave As New Button
'as compared to.>>
Dim BtnSave As New Button
Is it to make a distinction between the ( object / variable ) and its TYPE?
Why then does the IDE not add items starting with a lower case letter if lowercase initial lettering is more common or more accepted?

View 1 RepliesI have written a simple utlity in VB 2010 Express that reads data from an Access database and displays statistics graphically. It work fine on my development machine running XP. But on another XP machine I get a System.InvalidOperatinException erro on program startup. I added a MsgBox as the 1st line of the form load event on the startup form, but the exception is being thrown before the MsgBox is displayed.
View 6 RepliesI am currently working on a program for a higher or lower card game. I have my game set up and in place, however I am having trouble keeping track of the cards that have already been drawn from the deck. I am only playing with one deck and need to make sure that once a card is drawn it is placed in a discard pile and will not be drawn again. I did not post my code due to other students in my class using this forum for their version of the assignment. If someone would be willing to take a look at my code I can send it to you via private message.

View 3 RepliesI have two forms: Main and Options.Main can be moved around the screen (like a normal window). When the user clicks a button, the Options form opens up and the Main form HIDES.How do I set the Options form to open in the exact place that the Main form was last on the screen (to give it the effect the MAIN form never went into hidding)I was thinking to set Option form's StartPosition to Main's current position, but I don't know the syntax for that or if it's even something you can do.
