View 1 RepliesI need to have the Calendar Control start 36 hours after the current date. How would I do that?
I have a form that requires that the future date has to be at least 36 hours from the current date in the order for the workers involved to be able to complete the task.
check values and keep the form from processing:
Protected Sub calPickupDate_SelectionChanged(sender As Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles calPickupDate.SelectionChanged
If calPickupDate.SelectedDate < Today.AddHours(36) Then

I want to start the Windows calendar (c:program fileswindows calendarwincal.exe) minimized from my VB 2005 app. I have tried the windowstyle set to every option (including hidden), and it still comes up full screen. I tried it in VB6 using shell, then appactivate, and then using sendkeys, and it gives an "access denied" error.
View 4 RepliesWhen I clear my form, I am trying to clear the Month Calendar of all selected dates. Using this code clears everything but the Selection Start Date, I would assume there would be a way to clear this, Refresh doesn't work, and I can't seem to find anything else.
Public Sub clearScheduleControls()
Me.MonthCalendar1.RemoveAllBoldedDates()
Me.MonthCalendar1.UpdateBoldedDates()

I have written a simple utlity in VB 2010 Express that reads data from an Access database and displays statistics graphically.It work fine on my development machine running XP. But on another XP machine I get a System.InvalidOperatinException erro on program startup. I added a MsgBox as the 1st line of the form load event on the startup form, but the exception is being thrown before the MsgBox is displayed.

View 3 RepliesI know that here there is a similar question but I would like, if possible, to be able to define a relative path for 'Start External Program' or any workaround that do not constrain me to add a complete new empty project to my solution. I am using VB.NET in Visual Studio 2010 environment developing WinForms apps.
View 4 RepliesHow can I make it so when a button is clicked it will make the program start on start-up but only if the checkbox is checked?
View 9 RepliesI know that to start a program at startup, we should add this subkey
"C:Program Files<myprogram's path><nameoftheprog>.exe"
to
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun
Alright!
But the problem is when my program has to delete a certain file in C:/ at startup, it just can't because it's not ran as administrator!
I have a vb.net application and want it to start at Windows start up only if the user checks checkbox1 the procedures on how to do this and the code

I've commented out various things to limit it to specifically this command (example, I can swap mklink out with notepad and it works fine). The command runs fine from a DOS window, but can't be found when I use it this way. I also tried using the SHELL command just to test and I get the same results. No idea why it can't be found, as like I said it executes from the command prompt just fine.
I want to design a birthday programe which tells me if a birthday is coming up, How do I go about doing that, I want the day on the calender to be highlighted and when the arrow of the mouse moves over it it will show the persons name and age.

View 7 RepliesFor the past day or so, I have been trying to compare values in my SQL server against an actual calendar. I have had mixed luck with this and I have exhausted my limited knowledge. I am looking for a shove in the right direction.
Background:Right now, I have a program that writes a record to a database when the program completes successfully. This time stamp has both the date and time on the SQL box. I want to grab that information and compare it against the basic calendar. I have attached a picture that should help explain things. This is just my test app,

I have a procedure at the end of my console application that ask the user to either hit enter to end the program, or type s to perform another search. The issue I'm having is no matter what the user types in the program end. What I would like to happen is if the user types s, then the program starts over and lets the user perform another search. The program is procedural and I need to find a way to start back off at the top of the program which ask the user to type a name to search.

I am using a monthcalendar control and I want to use a mouse over event. Basically when the user hovers over a date I want to be able to display that date in a label or something is that possible?
View 7 RepliesI am using VB.NET and Visual Studio 2010 to write my program. The source of the control that I am using can be found here. First, I imported the Calendar.DayView.dll file into my toolbox to use as a control. Then I added the following code to my existing code:
Private Sub DayView1_NewAppointment(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal args As Calendar.NewAppointmentEventArgs)
Dim appointment As New Calendar.Appointment()
appointment.StartDate = args.StartDate
appointment.EndDate = args.EndDate
appointment.Title = args.Title
appointments.Add(appointment)
End Sub
I get this error 'Title' is not a member of 'Calendar.Appointment'. I have no access to the Calendar namespace or the Appointment class. I am able to view the properties of both in the Object Browser but I can't edit any of them.
I have a program that backs-up remote locations to a centralized FTP server. Upon successful completion, a record is written to a SQL database with the following information:
GUID (uniqueidentifier)
StoreID (varchar(5))
DateStamp (sqldatetime)
ProgramAndVersion(varchar(50))
I am currently managing the program by running a report on who has written a record to the database. If the record is not written, I manually go in and backup the necessary files.The problem with this, is that it can take up to 30 minutes/day to do this task. While that's not a long time, it's getting somebody to be dedicated when I'm off and that has proven to be difficult.
I want the program to automatically search for missing records, but I'm not sure how to do this. I was thinking about bringing in the last 30 days with a SELECT statement and then comparing the information that I have in the SQL database versus a calendar control (or something). I need to make this process completely automated and not very intensive on the SQL server. I only have the following
2010
Sub FindMissingBackups(ByVal DaysToCheck As Integer, ByVal StoreNumber As String)
Dim TodaysDate As SqlDateTime = Now()
Dim PastDate As SqlDateTime = DateAdd(DateInterval.Day, -DaysToCheck, Now())

View 1 RepliesI have a simple form in VB.NET with one button which when clicked opens an Outlook Explorer to display an Outlook Calendar. When the user closes the Explorer, the form picks up the close event, garbage collects the Outlook objects and attempts to close itself.
However the Me.Close() does not work - if I pause the code on the Me.Close line and set a watch on the Me form object, lots of the form properties say "{"Cross-thread operation not valid: Control 'Form1' accessed from a thread other than the thread it was created on."}System.InvalidOperationException" If someone could help me out with this one I would be a very happy bunny...

Writing a little program for my wife and thought it would be cool to have the calendar auto select the next day of her choice when she opens it. Example it's Monday and she opens the program to make notes about things for her girly get together every Thursday. Right now she opens it and has to select the next Thursday first to get the date.
What i thought would be cool is if the program picks the next Thursday for her, in the future the night may change to Tuesday so i don't mind hard coding the selection for now as it wont change all the time.Is there an easy calendar or date picker routine available for this or is it a roll up the sleeves, i searched and not finding anything.
i'm working on a calendar and i'm stuck on how to make the grid (where the user put the events )i want to make my calendar look like this!
