VS 2010 Palindrome - Minimum Number Of Characters To Make A Text Palindrome?

I'm having a very difficult task here. I need to analyze a certain text and find the minimum number of characters it needs to become a palindrome. The text will not have any special characters or numbers, just alphabet letters. Now, I've made some progression and have tried a lot of situations correctly, but in some situations I've gotten wrong outputs on the MINIMUM number of characters needed. I've tested the below texts:

I need to create a a palindrome checker program. Now I know how to check a simple palindrome by using the reverse method however I am unsure if the palindrome had special characters or spaces. My question is what is the code for removing spaces and special characters from a string using loops and if statements. Also we cannot use arrays.

I am working on a project for the next week of my course and have the code built already and running but there was one section of it that looking at it I just dont understand why it works correctly.[code].....So i get that the second if statement here says that is palcheck1 = palcheck2 then its not the same telling the program its not a palindrome. But in the first part of it if palcheck1 is greater than palcheck 2 then it is a palindrome.

I need to create a code using String Compare() and Cases to figure out if a word, phrase, or what is typed in a textbox is a palindrome. If it is, a message will appear in a label under the textbox that reads, "What you typed is a palindrome." Or, "What you typed is not a palindrome." , if it is not.

I am having problems getting this program to run. It is a palindrome checker, you are suposed to enter a word or a phrase and determine weather it is a palindrome. The code is suposed to contain a Boolean valued function, and should display true or false if word(s) are palindrome.

I'm working on a problem where i have to allow a user to input a word or phrase and then determine if it is a palindrome (a words that reads the same forwards and backwards) . It also says that the program should use a Boolean-valued function procedure named IsPalindrome that returns the value True when the word or phrase is a palindrome and the value False otherwise.

example. i have 2 textboxes and if there empty it says "Incorrect Information", but how do i make it that like when a person enters something into the textbox1 it can be 3 values minimum.. like it could be eather 2 letters 1 number or what ever just more than 3 values (no special characters), and on the password.. 6 values minimum (no special characters).

I'm using Visual Studio and table adapters using an Access DB as the backend. I need the minimum 4 digit value. I want to get next available 4 or 5 digit number. And this will change depending upon the users request. Currently I use a table adabpter query. But how would I write a query. I suppose I could do a long iterative loop through all values until I see a 4 digit.But I'm trying to think of something more efficient.

I'm making a custom control suited for handling passwords. I have created a control that inherits from a text box and I have implemented a lot of things so far. But what i want to do now is create a system so that when a user types It will display his last character typed for a X amount of time.Is there a way to turn only selected characters into password characters and still be able to get the password text from the Text property ?

I'm working on a form in which strings of text are being imported. A lot of these strings contain special characters, like �, �, �, &, �, etc...
When I convert these strings to text, so they can be shown as labels, the special characters either disappear (like the '&' sign) or they are shown as some sort of icons. How can I let VB handle these strings, so the special characters are shown the way they should, without having to change the (many hundreds) original strings of text?

I am in a need of a Regular Expression to restrict input to only certain characters in a text box. The text box can only allow 0 or 1 "+" sign at the beginning and at no other position. I'm using a vertical trackbar. I got it all set: minimum and maximum values, tickfrequency etc... and so on... everything works great. The only problem is that I would like to have the minimum value of the trackbar on the top. In horizontal trackabar you can choose the RightToLeft property to put the minimum value to the left or to the right, but how do I make it to put the minimum value on the top if I have it in vertical orientation? There has to be a way to somehow "flip" it... but how?

When I read a value from text box I want to make sure user has entered a number(int/float/double etc.) not a string. Is there any function to check it? otherwise how do i validate it.
