I am creating an Interactive map which displays the facilities when the user clicks on the Checkbox, such as toilets. It will display all the toilet locations via PictureBoxes. I want to do this without having to write all this code?

In my application, the user clicks a single button and the program displays each network adapter description into a message box and then gets all the ip info for the workstation and places it into a text file and opens that text for reading. What I would really like for it to do would be to display all the network adapters into a single messagebox instead of messagebox for every adapter like it is currently doing. I'm creating a program and i want it to secretly save when the user clicks on save.
In other words, i have made it so that it saves twice. Once for the user to read (like a fancy copy) and another that the program uses to open up the form.
Currently when pushed, 2 save dialog boxes come up after each other. I don't want this to happen. I want 1 to come up (the user friendly, fancy version) which is the easy part, but i also want the other 1 to save automatically and secretly without asking the user to set the destination.

I am creating a program that requires the user to click a checkbox and then select a date in a Date Time Picker Control. There will be up to 20 entries. I need to know how to take all of the dates entered and display on a diffrent form the latest date selected by the user from all the entries on a form. All the options will be training selected and when the last training item is selected and a date entered I need to be able to output the training completion date wich will be the latest date entered in the form.

I want to make my translator interactive with the user. In microsoft Word the User can change the dictionary terms of the word or insert a word to make the (little red line) beneath a misspelt word go away. In my translator program. I have a databank of words that are inside a strArray. The strArray is read as EnglishWord[SpanishDefinition] and SpanishWord[EnglishDefinition] inside the DataBank. I want the user to be able to insert a word with it's definition if the databank does not have the word or the definition...

I have a web application on a Windows 2008 server. The web application opens another application interactively.The issue: If I am logged into the server, the web application runs without any problem. If I log-off, and try to use the web application, I get an error "Buffer cannot be null."If I log myself back into the server,go to another computer and try the web app, it will work fine.What security setting is causing this?

The original code came from AutoItI just rewrote what was necessary for VB.NET and added the structures and throws. If successful the PID of the process started is returned, else an exception is thrown. No imports needed.

I'm afraid this is a very simple question, but I can't figure it out... I hardly ever use the DataGridView (usually use a third party grid) so I never needed to do this before.Anyway, I have a DataGridView that is data-bound to a List(Of SomeClass). The grid is not ReadOnly, but I made every column ReadOnly except the very first, which is a boolean column so it displays a checkbox. This way, the user cannot edit any cell value, but he can check/uncheck the checkbox in the first column.
What I need now basically is an event that is raised when the user (not programmatically) changes the value of this checkbox. I also need to be able to retrieve the bound item from that event (from the row number I think?) but that should be no problem, I hope.Anyway, there's a bunch of events that looked promising but all have something I don't want:
1. CellBeginEdit - Fires before the checkbox value has changed, so can't use this.
2. CellEndEdit - Only fires after the edited row loses focus. I want to save it back to the database as soon as the user changes the checkbox value!
3. CellValueChanged - Same problem as nr 2.
I'm sure it must be possible for me to react as soon as the user changes the value of the checkbox? How can I do this?

I'm trying to create a small game in VB2010. The gameplay is as follows:
civilians would walk/stand in a room/street and suddenly an evil character would pop from the ground/wall. This evil character would suddenly vanishes too. So, the player has to shoot it to kill the character. The evil character, civilians, etc. would be random. Also, there would be sound effects too. That is the popping up of the evil character, it's voice, the civilians voice, etc. I'm trying to make it as simple as possible but without degrading the quality of the game play. I think, I could somewhat create the graphics for the characters, scenes, etc. and can get the sound effects recorded.
So, the difficult part is,[ ] how could I make it a smoother for playing the game ?
[ ] what would be the best way to do animations ?
[ ] Creating a GIF and placing it in the picturebox and moving it ?
[x]how to play the music in background and at the same time play sound effects on certain instance ?

I have a form in which I draw a rectangle and a line depending on the button click. I basically want a dynamic line/ rectangle that moves when the mouse is clicked on another point on the picturebox. I found some code online for a rectangle, and I'm trying to extend it to draw a line too, but i'm having some issues. The line is not displayed when the mouse is lifted(mouse up event).

Basically. I enter a name and a score. And my program will store them in an array. Then i press "grades" and it provides me with a grade for each name and score entered.BUTi now need an array that will give me a count of how many numbers are in the array.e.g.

The 1st Struggle already is that hitting Enter after adding the Address does not display the content. I need to click on the Search Button. Additionally it would be nice if the Address is an IP Address that the last Part of the IP address could automatically be incremented and show the next Device in the Browser.

I have an application I am creating that displays pump information based on customers in a database. I am using VB2008 .NET3.5.I have a combobox that has a selection for a unit of measure. What I want to happen is when that is changes the labels that have a unit of measure change to reflect the change. There are 15 labels total that need to be changed and all there names are the only ones in the project that start with a X if that helps at all.
I would like to avoid creating a bunch of labels and changing the visible property and just change the text value of each one. I have just started learning VB.NET

I figured it out. Check out the finished control [URL]..I'm trying to make myself a simple 'star rating' control.
It would have the properties:
StarCount (number of stars)
StarValue (number of stars highlighted)
I want to draw the stars using GDI+, have them highlight on mouse over, and change the StarValue when clicked.I have an idea on how to do this from experience with working with forms, but I'm having some difficulties with the Control development part. I couldn't find any tutorials which didn't inherit a control (such as a checkbox or button), and I have no idea how to make my control editable in the designer.
I think what I need to do is create StarCount as a property like this:

I also want to execute my drawing code at design time, so I can see the stars while laying out a form. as a side note to that, I don't know how to change the size of the control at run or design time, nor how to disable the user from changing it at design time.as a side note - I know that there are a few star rate controls already floating around the internet, but I do not like the quality of them (or at least the one's I've seen), they felt very windows 98. I'm trying to make something that will fit well into windows 7 (plus I want to implement custom images, but that can wait until I get it working)

I have a START and STOP button and when the user clicks "start" the program does a whole bunch of calculations and all. However, I noticed that when I was testing the program I clicked STOP the program continues to execute stuff.
My START code is basically a while loop that iteratively does some calculations.
So I just put a boolean variable as the while condition and when user clicks stop its set to false and when user clicks start its set to true. However, when I click stop, the condition is set to false yes but it still executes all the code until the condition is re-evaluated right...so my question is how can I get out of the while loop when user instantly clicks "stop"?
