VS 2010 Print Two Richtextboxes Plustwo Labels On Form?
Feb 21, 2011
Ok, so I done some reading and searching and I am confused on what is the best way to print my form that has 2 labels, 2 richtextboxes on it on get it to print to a 3x5 card or 4x7. I had this built in vb6 and used a picturebox but that method doesn't work in .NET. So what is easier, printform or printdocument or DrawString. I tried the printform but I don't want the whole form printed. Also read about DrawString as well. Honestly, I am confused on all of it.
trying to print a Form that I created using a VB.Net console application. My console application creates an instance of a Windows Form and fills it with data. I then created an instance of the Print Form class from the Microsoft Power Pack and am trying to get the form I filled with data to print but no matter what I've tried it just prints the command console window.
Dim firstPage As New FrontPage 'Windows Form Dim pf As New PrintForm 'Print Form Power Pack firstPage.Visible = True
I'm using PrintForm which comes with PowerPack to print a form with a couple of Labels into it.But the letters appear a little blur and not clear at all, bad quality, I tried by increasing the size of the labels but the result was the same.Under the PrintForm parameters I only found one that could be relevant, the papersize but that doesn't helped too.
I have a form with 25 RichTextBoxes. I need to clear them all when a user presses a button.I think it's something to do with: Me.Controls.Clear but I'm not sure.
So I have my main form (Form1) and I have a module called globalMod. On start up, Form1 loads, and globalMod contains functions and global variables (using Friend). I need to be able to have a function inside of globalMod edit a label/text box/etc in Form1. I tired Form1.object.Text = "content" and it doesn't do anything, even if I update / refresh the form.
the application I'm building is ALMOST done. The ONLY final feature I NEED to add is the ability to receive email. Now I'm using VB 2010. How would I go about doing this? Would I use 2 listboxes and a form with labels on it to display the message. I haven't any code yet. How in the world do I do this??
I'm trying to write code that can print only filled text boxes in the form and then print the label near them. I searched and thought the code below is the end result I could reach.[code]...
I have a list of names in Excel and wish to print name badges from this list. There is a second line of information to be printed under the name. The only label producing software I have is MS Word.I am programming in VB in Office 2007.
I have run into another problem with my current project. I have a form that I need to print. Doing some searching online I found a few examples and implemented it into my code. It prints but prints all my text boxes and labels stacked on top of one another. How can I get this to print my textboxes and labels formatted as I have them in the form?
Here is my code: Private Sub PrintToolStripMenuItem1_Click_1(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles PrintToolStripMenuItem1.Click PrintDocument1.PrinterSettings.Copies = 2 PrintDocument1.Print() [Code] .....
I have wrote a program to help me arranging roster of 4 workers. The program is putting textboxes and labels on form1, textboxes and labels are interactive each other and calculate total working hours. how can I print out the "form1" ?
I designed a simple Table using Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition in the GridView design. I am able to run the application and enter names and addresses then print them out in record view. I do not need to connect or save to a database, or set up any type of datasets and recordsets. Its is a simple DataTable design from the datagridview where I can run the application, then enter information and print it out, that's all. Now, I need to go a step further by adding another print button for printing labels, Avery 5160.
My question is not so much how to do it, but after running the application and entering the names and addresses, is it possible and how much coding will it require using the same GridView Table and the information I entered to result in a print output in Avery label format? If so, can someone please direct me in the right steps to get started, at the least?Currently the table is set up where I enter names and addresses in separate cells under each column and row, as shown in the example below. I arranged this so I can print out a record of entries where I am able to print preview and print a list of names and addresses in record view. Here I've accomplished my task and get the results I need when I run the application and print.
[Example] [HEADER] LastName FirstName Address City St. Zip [ROW] Marti Frank 12345 Somewhere Pl. ##### [ROW] Another Name 12345 Somewhere Pl. ##### [ROW] ##### ##### ##### ##### ## #####
Additionally, I want to be able to print a format of address labels, specifically Avery 5160, from the same entries I entered into the table, when I run the application. I do not want to enter names and addresses again but rather set up and click another print button. Kinda, similar to setting up a mail merge in word. So then, using the same application will I need to customize the cells to print out in an address label format, such as a similar format below, for multiple entries? Please check out this application at [URL] which is an excellent online label source but the format is set up different in that you enter the complete names and addresses into each cell. For my purposes, it is useful but requires more data entry and additional steps. Can I do something similar to this with the table I'm using in it's current design by setting up another print button and customizing the cells to get the proper format to print labels?
LastName, FirstName LastName, FirstName LastName, FirstName Address, City, St., Zip Address, City, St., Zip Address, City, St., Zip LastName, FirstName LastName, FirstName LastName, FirstName
[code]....
Do I need to run another application with VB? Is there a lot of coding required? Do I need to customize the cells? If I need to run a Word application to set up a mail merger then can use a PDF format instead?
Public Class frmLargeLabels Inherits Form Private WithEvents printDocument1 As New PrintDocument Dim memoryImage As Bitmap
[CODE]...
I pinched it from a Print Form routine but changed the coding in the Private Sub Capture Screen event. ie: RichTextBox instead of Form. (Dim s As Size..........) memoryGraphics has to be twigged to location on form. And, of course location and size to print in the Rectangle. All things to do with a RichTextBox - such as Font, Color, etc can be used making a super-duper label. :8-0::eek: I have not seen anything to do with RTBs giving this.
I need to design a simple label designer that could print labels for shelf items, just like in a grocery store. The requirements are that the label shall contain a name, a barcode (e.g. Code39 symbology), price and room for some extra text.
using vb2005 to write a windows mobile 6 app, need to retrieve data from the sql compact editions database and print info in labels and textbox. i also would like to know how to add the info obtained from a date time picker, radio buttons, and a textbox to load it back into the sql server compact database so that it is updated with new records.
Is it easier to print a VB.net windows form in Visual Studio 2010?
I have been struggling with this - the PrintForm utility in the Powerpack only prints the displayed portion of the current form.
I spent a lot of time creating a process which loops through each control on my form, converts to a bitmap, and drops it on the print document, only to finally discover that the RichTextBox control (which I used extensively) does not include a functional DrawToBitmap method.
I have already researched various ways of managing this, but if VS2010 will do it without jumping through the hoops then I'll spring for it like the sucker I am.
I can do this in Access and VB6, I believe, so I don't think this is an unreasonable expectation.
If it is at all possible, I would like to print a page that is layed out with labels filled with text from previousley stored information from the program. now, obviousley, because the text can change in amount, and so the labels need to be able to change in size, and if at all possible allow multiple lines, though if there is no way to do it, then an unchagable text box would serfice.
There is a problem though, the fact that the labels will be changing size means that the position of the labels needs to be variable to the previouse. Example: the box above needs to be bigger, so the box bellow needs to drop down equall to the amount that the above grows.
I have been able to do the exercise's in the first 2 chapters and half the exercise's in the third chapter of the text book (programming in visual basic 2008, Julia Case Bradley & Anita C. Millspaugh). but this one is making my head want to explode. please point me in the right direction with this.
Heres the problem. The company has instituted a bonus program to give its employees an incentive to sell more. For every dollar the store makes in a four-week period, the employees receive 2 percent of sales. The amount of bonus each employee receives is based upon the percentage of hours he or she worked during the bonus period (a total of 160 hours). The Calculate button will determine the bonus earned by this employee, and the Clear button will clear only the name, hours-worked, and bonus amount fields. A Print button allows the user to print the form. Do not allow missing or bad input data to cancel the program; instead display a message to the user.
Here's my code so far. its giving me the wrong results. i have tried many different ways,(hence the commented code) but I just dont know where im going wrong.
My instructor told us how to print documents and how to use databases. What the instructor did not mention is how to print or print a preview of records within a DatabaseDataSet. The book "Programming in Visual Basic 2010" does not explain how to print or do a print preview of Database Source records from within a form. The only thing I was told was to test the print document first before you try to do a print preview. Within a form I used a DataGridView to add, delete, and update the database. So now all I need to do is figure out how to print the updated records from the DataGridView and how to print a preview of the records within the DataGridView. So I hope my question is clear enough to give me assistance on how I can perform these two actions. Thanks this would be a great help, and since the class is online we can get assistance from any sources that we have.
I have several label boxes on my design form that all share the naming convention lbl_#.text where # ranges from 1 to 60. I want to make a loop that iterates through each lbl_#.text adding some incremental value, let's say multiples of 2 for this question's theoretical purpose.Something such that the end result would amount to the following:
I have a form where I need to place some labels dinamically. Some of the label's height needs to change depending on the string size that will populate the label's text. So what I need to do is position the labels one below the other, after the text has been populated and the height has been set.
how to do this. I have a search box at the top of a vb.net windows form. And a bunch of labels throughout the same scrollable windows form. so when a user enters a search term within the search box it will highlight and set focus to the label that matches.
is it possible to show 2 labels in a form (one after the other) with the click of a button for example i have label1 and label2 (but label2 is like hidden), the form loads with label and a button when i click on the button, label2 shows....is it possible?
I created a program that has serval labels on a form and a listview object. It has a button that when clicked reads a textfile and loads up values in the listview object. I then can click and drag text from the listview box to any label on the form and then the program removes the value from the listview box. Now, my question is how can I instruct VB to save these values in the text property of the labels so that the next time the program is loaded the labels will contain the values loaded during the last run time session?
Well im currently developing an application for public use, I have a login screen in which the user enter's their registered credential's and the progressbar loads by increments of 3, now i placed 6 labels ontop of eachother and where the progressbar coding is i put:
If Progressbar.Value >= 1 Then Label3.Show() If Progressbar.Value >= 20 Then Label3.Hide() Label4.show()
And so on up until Label8 Show at 100%,
Now the problem is... As i have placed the labels ontop of eachother i need them hidden until they are called to show, i have tried adding a background worker to do this but have had no luck, all i see is the labels overlapping eachother when i run my application when i want them hidden untill Label3.Show() is called, and then to display them as they are called and hide them when another one is called to show...
