the application I'm building is ALMOST done. The ONLY final feature I NEED to add is the ability to receive email. Now I'm using VB 2010. How would I go about doing this? Would I use 2 listboxes and a form with labels on it to display the message. I haven't any code yet. How in the world do I do this??

This is the first time I have used this messaging library and used some example code to implement it. The first time I ran it it worked perfectly but I abruptly stopped the code since my parsing method seemed wrong. So when I restarted it, the code freezes at the following line:

I have a problem in timers, I want to display 2 forms each one after 3 and 5, how to do that? I mean when the first form appears, after 3 seconds another one will appear, then after 5 seconds the second will appear. I have a code where someone gave me here but its for message box only, thus I modify it to put a form still does not work. Here the code I put in the timer below:

I still have problem when the message box stops, it displays all the forms together. All I want is when the message box stops, then it display the first form then stop to display the second then stop to display the last. The first form must stay for 3 seconds on the screen, then after 3 seconds the second appears then after 5 seconds the last appears.
I'm having trouble with collections and how it works, what I have so far is classes and I have attempted to do collection but it is not working properly. I am trying to have the collection hold the classPerson,classCustomer, and classPreferredCustomer properties, and then display it to list and labels in the Main form. [Code]
View 7 RepliesI'm seeing a strange problem with the labels on the X axis of my charts. I've setup two chart areas and aligned them (which displays fine) and the user can manipulate the chart by selecting different date resolutions (Year, Month, Day, Week, Hour) and different time periods.
The issue I'm seeing is that if a user selects say Months as the date resolution the X axis label display is inconsistent. If a fairly broad range for the dates is selected the X axis displays absolutely fine but as the date range narrows the X axis starts to duplicate labels ( please see the attached images). The second Image had a date range of 1st of May to 1st of August and as you can see the labels are duplicated. This is my first go with the chart control so I could be missing something basic. [Code]

im working on an application that is sort of like outlook. You will be able to set up your email account (from a internet email like gmail or aol) and it will grab the email the internet mail. I have the sending part taken care of but i need the reveiving part. I have posted about receiving email before and this is a follow up of my progress. I have only one form and it consists of 2 buttons, one for downloading messages from the server, the other, to disconnect the connection. I also have one listview and one textbox to display the message. I took the codes from a few open source programming website and compiled them. My program works as such that upon clicking the 'Download Messages' button, a message box will pop up and the user/admin will be asked to enter the POP3 account name. My doubts are I am not sure what POP3 account name to put in.

View 3 RepliesI am working on a program where a user either enters "small" or "large" and then the number of toppings. Once the user has done that my program outputs the total cost of a pizza based on user input. If they enter something else besides a number in the txtNumberOfToppings I am trying to show they message box that says "Re-Enter a valid number!" Likewise I am trying to display the error message "Re-enter a number that is 0 or greater!" If they enter a negative number into the textbox. However they do not display when I do enter invalid input.

Ok, so I done some reading and searching and I am confused on what is the best way to print my form that has 2 labels, 2 richtextboxes on it on get it to print to a 3x5 card or 4x7. I had this built in vb6 and used a picturebox but that method doesn't work in .NET. So what is easier, printform or printdocument or DrawString. I tried the printform but I don't want the whole form printed. Also read about DrawString as well. Honestly, I am confused on all of it.
View 12 RepliesI'm using PrintForm which comes with PowerPack to print a form with a couple of Labels into it.But the letters appear a little blur and not clear at all, bad quality, I tried by increasing the size of the labels but the result was the same.Under the PrintForm parameters I only found one that could be relevant, the papersize but that doesn't helped too.

View 3 RepliesWe receive an HTML document in an email which has some special pricing and products. I want to be able to parse the data, perform some lookup operations on it, assign some pricing markups, save it to a data source for future referance and do it with VB.net and a web browser. I'd really like to use MSHTML.HTMLDocument, but all the documentation I have is based on HTTP URL's, but since these HTML pages will be opened from an eMail or saved to a fileshare, they won't have the HTTP. I've also tried to read it as a text file and parse with RegEx, but it's not very effecient and to be honest, RegEx is still a fog to me.
Would anyone be kind enough to suggest a way to do this? Is MSHTML able to do it and if so; how do I set up a reference to a non-HTTP URL?
So I have my main form (Form1) and I have a module called globalMod. On start up, Form1 loads, and globalMod contains functions and global variables (using Friend). I need to be able to have a function inside of globalMod edit a label/text box/etc in Form1. I tired Form1.object.Text = "content" and it doesn't do anything, even if I update / refresh the form.
