I'm just struggling to find tutorials about drawing text using XNA 4.0 in VB.net 2010. I have tried the code from here: [URL] but it does not seem to work. I think that was written for XNA 2.0 though.

The game is using DirectX, is there a way to sort of "Inject" something to be drawn into the paint event ? even if this is not possible with vb.net I can do C# or C++ if I know how.

The purpose is that I do alot of work with remote control cars and need to acuratley set toe and camber angles, it takes to long with the "old" method So I am creating this little program. ok, so, lets see what I want to do. Well, the first thing I would like to do is draw a line from top to bottom of my picture box dead center of left to right, this is dead center of the cam so the bottom of your item should be posistioned to meet the bottom of the centre line. I then draw a line from bottom to top of the objects angle. I then use the dead center line and the line I drew to calculate the angle.

View 10 RepliesI have started to work some more on my 'shape editor'. If you're not familiar with it,ust imagine the Visual Studio form designer: a 'canvas' (the form) with a bunch of 'shapes' (the controls) that can be selected, moved, resized, etc. I have just finished implementing snapping between shapes and the canvas boundaries. But now I am having some slight issues with painting the snap lines.Just FYI: this is what I mean by snap lines:The blue lines that indicate that the 'buttons' are snapped to each other, and a purple line indicating that button1 is snapped to the boundary.
My shape editor is based loosely on jmcilhinney's 'manipulating GDI+ drawings' codebank entry, and a central idea in that post is to only draw what is necessary. In other words, when I move a shape I could re-draw the entire canvas, but it is much faster and smoother to only re-draw the old and the new location of the shape. Since nothing else has changed, I don't need to draw the rest. So, I simply invalidate the old bounds and the new bounds, and even with a lot of shapes all moving simultaneously it still feels very smooth.
How would I Pre-Draw/Pre-Rendering Controls on a form before it appears? Is this possible??
View 10 RepliesI'm writing a simple program that takes a screenshot of tab1 of the GUI, then takes a screenshot of tab2, then tab3, etc. I've got the screenshot code down pat, but the problem with my current code is that it's taking the screenshot of each tab before the screen has a chance to fully redraw, so the resulting images are screwed up.Is there a way to get the program to wait for each tab (and all the controls in it) to be fully visible before each screenshot is taken?I'd like to avoid using a timer for this, as the screen redraw speed will vary depending on the user's computer, and the contents of each tab, etc.[code]

Now, it draws perfectly when I drag left to down (vice versa), but when I try and drag the opposite way (this is when I get negative x and y values), it doesn't seem to draw the rectangle.I've tried fixing it but with no luck at all, it just messes it up :c
I display a Chart with several graphic lines on it. What I want to do is draw a line (using the mouse) overtop or below the chart such that it can be seen on the chart. The mouse line draw code is below. What is required is either make
the line always be on top or make the chart transparent. I don't know how to do either and I don't know if it is possible in Visual Basic 2010 as it was in VB2.

This is a followup to this thread, where I'm trying to draw two sets of dots using HatchBrushes to create VS2010-like interface. If you take a look at the zoomed image of the IDE background (blue with dark and light blue dots): that is what I'm trying to draw using GDI+. In the previous thread ForumAccount find the correct HashStyle to use (Percent20), but there is a problem: I need to draw two sets of these hatchstyles: once with a slightly darker color and once with a slightly lighter color, at an offset of one pixel downwards.

View 2 RepliesI am practicing using the drawing commands, and have gotten a grass background and black happy face that moves around the background.It's a 10x10 grid of 50 pixels.I want (at the moment, when i press enter) it to generate a random number of trees (15 ~ 25) at random locations on the background. The program doesn't freak out about anything, and the variables seem to be right (using stop commands) but it's not drawing anything. Here is the code for the "GenerateTrees" command I have for when I press enter.

I'm Making a Simple syntax highlighter and I'm Doing the highlighting in the text Changed event of a RTB and for obvious reasons I can't re highlight the whole document each time someone presses a key so i highlight one line each time the text changes. But this creates a Problem. If someone pastes code into the RichTextBox It only highlights the last Line. So is there a way to get if the user typed the text in with his keyboard or pasted it from the clipboard in the text Changed event?

View 1 RepliesI'm trying to create a small program, which I think will be helpful to others(in here). My aim is to convert the English text shown in screen to Malayalam. English-to-Malayalam conversion is not a problem. But the problem is, how to extract the text from the screen. In most of the converter/translator, the text needs to be copied or written down in the translator tool. But my program will cut off that part. That is, simply move the program window (having a rectangle hollow portion) to the English word that needs to be converted. And upon pressing a button (or autodetect), the English word is converted to Malayalam.
So, my question is how to extract the English text(or words) from the screen (which is seen through the hollow portion of the window.

I need to make a listview, for each item to be like this:
- An image on the lef.t
- A header text on th etop.
- A minor text on the bottom.
im trying to make a program in which if the textbox text and the listbox text are the same order, which they are in the picture, a bluie fonted text saying well done appears. However only the red text appears which is only meant to come when the order of the text in both listbox and textbox isnt the same.
Here is the code that i used for this:
