How do I make VB.net console recognize the color red and green at XY-axis? I start up the program. The program check...if X450 and Y503 has a green pixel or something like that...do this. If X450 and Y503 has a red pixel or something lik that...goto line number. You know what I mean? I took the X450 and Y503 as random numbers.

I would like to load a GIF file, and start with the first pixel and check to see if that pixel color is closer to Black, Red, Green or Yellow, then take what ever color it closest matched to and output that color as a number, 0, 1, 2 or 3. I am having some major problems with the code in VBA and recording a macro didn't get me anywhere nor is the VBA help file. I have to have it so that I can input a values for the x axis rotation and the y axis rotation so that my 3d surface graph will rotate whatever values I input, the 3d surface graph will rotate those degrees. I also have to have a method for having the default rotation. I was also wondering how to put scroll bars for the x and y rotation. The only other thing I am having trouble with is having an input to check box for right angle axes. So far I have two cells for entering the x rotation value and the y rotation value. I also already have my 3d surface graph.

I'm trying to make a Toolbox component which the user can drag onto a form in the VS Designer. The component has to recognize the Form it is on, in order to handle certain Form events. I have the smallest dataset in the world that simply consists of a month (text) and and amount. I want to produce a chart showing the month along the y-axis and the value up the x-axis. How do I do it? I have dragged the chart control onto the report page and populated the dataset. The chart shows but nothing like what I would expect. Just to make it simple I populated the dataset with an amount equivalent to the month number so it should show as 1 in January, 2 in Feb etc...However no matter where I drag the dataset's column names I don't get what I want. Where am I going wrong?

View 10 RepliesI'm building an application in which a certain CSV schedule is read and searched for time and date values.
I want to read each cell in the CSV file with a streamreader and have VB determine if the contents of the cell represent a date (like 31-10-2011), a time (like 22:30) or random text data which is not formatted like a date or time.
How can I make VB recognize a string as either a date, a time or neither one, so I can use this string formatted as Date, Time or discard of it?
The contents of the CSV file will look something like this:

Although the CSV file will never contain much data, the position of the date and time fields in a row may vary, so I cannot tell VB which cell to read as date/time. It has to recognize the value as date, time, or unusable text.

i'm having a problem with AxisX interval labels. I want my AxisX length to be exactly one minute and labels showing every 5 second. So it should be 12 labels all the time. But after that minute passes, I'm getting 13th, than 14th label and so on.

It sounds confusing but it's not really. What I need is basically a way to emulate the console style text, without using a console. What I'm really doing is trying to do a matrix effect on my form background, by drawing symbols and moving them, alternating their colors (see this video for what I mean).
Is there a way to do this effectively with a timer and a draw event, with the timer calling the draw event and changing the intervals?
I'm seeing a strange problem with the labels on the X axis of my charts. I've setup two chart areas and aligned them (which displays fine) and the user can manipulate the chart by selecting different date resolutions (Year, Month, Day, Week, Hour) and different time periods.
The issue I'm seeing is that if a user selects say Months as the date resolution the X axis label display is inconsistent. If a fairly broad range for the dates is selected the X axis displays absolutely fine but as the date range narrows the X axis starts to duplicate labels ( please see the attached images). The second Image had a date range of 1st of May to 1st of August and as you can see the labels are duplicated. This is my first go with the chart control so I could be missing something basic. [Code]

I'm using Windows Task Scheduler Wrapper to schedule the tasks (basically to launch an exe console every two minutes or so) in a .net desktop application.However, I don't want it to pop-up the console every 5 minutes or even once. How do I hide it? I understand if I was using vb.net to launch the exe, there are several things I could have done. However, I am using windows task scheduler to launch it.
