Forms :: PictureBox - Image Packaged In The .exe Rather Than Using The File's Extension

Feb 2, 2010

Currently I'm using a picturebox object in a program which is referenced to a location on my local computer ie "PictureBox.image = Image.FromFile("c:/image.jpg")". I would like the image packaged in the .exe rather than using the file's extension. So if the exe is copied to another computer it will display fine. How can I do this? I was able to do this is the drag and drog editor by importing an image rather than specifying a location, but for my purposes I'd like it done programmatically.

VS 2010 Get An Open Application's Image?

Oct 11, 2011

Does anyone know how to get the image of an open application (any open application or game)? Like the image that shows if you mouseover a program on the taskbar of Vista or Win 7.

I'll need to get a list of all open programs and retrieve an image of each, but if you only know how to get the image, then i'm sure I can resolve the rest through repeated googling.

Open Image File And Save After Resizing?

Dec 27, 2008

Code that opens image file this code works properly
Private Sub MenuItem4_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles FromFile.Click
PBDisplay.Visible = False
If OpenFileDialog1.ShowDialog() = DialogResult.OK Then
PBDisplay.SizeMode = PictureBoxSizeMode.AutoSize
[Code] ......

This code is what I am using to save image after it is re sized, It will not save the new image, it saves the old image and the old size. I am using a picture box to import the image into, then I am resizing the picture box and the image. But when it is saved it reverts to the original image.
Private Sub MenuItem6_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Save.Click
If SaveFileDialog1.ShowDialog = DialogResult.OK Then
PBDisplay.Image.Save(SaveFileDialog1.FileName)
End If
End Sub

SQL Server Open File From Image Field?

Apr 25, 2012

I have a field in a SQL Server 2005 DB of type 'image' that contains documents, mostly pdfs. When I view the field in the database, it looks as though the data is stored as a hex string. I have extensively googled and came up with the VB.net function below to convert the field to an actual file, but it only outputs a file containing the string of hex characters rather than the file that the field is supposed to represent.

This is a sample of the fields' data (I have truncated it for privacy purposes):

[Code]....

And is it possible to open the file straight from a query in SQL server?

Jun 25, 2009

I am using VB 08 running an openfiledialogue wanting to get the result of the GDS file (*.gds) to be the default extension at the drop down menu instead of All file when the openfiledialogue box opens.

I coded it with:

but the results i get in the open file dialogue box remains as all files being in the drop down menu as the default file extension. How to i set it to ".gds" format?

But on my flash drive, I have the same set up (E:/Homework Assignment 1) and I am not missing any files. Lets say I have a mutli-line text box, is it possible, and if so how would I go about making it so if I clicked Open with > editor I could do things with this text, such as TextBox.text = [file contents]. If it's not possible just let me know and I'll stick with open file dialogs.
