Parse A Percentage Value From A Grid Cell?
Mar 12, 2011I'm trying to parse a formatted percentage value back from a datagridviewcell that has been set with the "P" formatter:
double percent = 0.96
cell.value = percent.tostring("p")
gives me a displayed value of 96 % which is what I want.
Now what I'm looking for is something like what is provided for the other formatting strings - NumberStyles.HexNumber, Currency etc so that I can do this
double percent= double.parse( cell.value, NumberStyles.Percent )
which would give me a percent value of .96
I have scoured the .net documentation but can't find any sort of AllowPercent style like the others - is there one?

May 7, 2012I'm making a seat booking system in vb.net (WinForms) and I need the user to be able to select the seat they wish to use and for it to change colour (so they can tell that it selected).
I began to try using buttons, but 480 buttons seriously slowed down the load time for the form. I then tried a data grid view with buttons in the rows/columns, but couldnt make that work properly.
Would it be worth trying to use 480 picture boxes and change their background colour? Or would that just slow the form down the same way as 480 buttons?

My ultimate goal is to hide the grid out of view from the user and access the data in the grid based on the coordinates of the grid specified i.e (The cell in column 5, row 6 contains the value "Taco") and I want to save that value to a variable...Eventually I want to loop through all the values of a column and save them to individual variables to be later used. Mar 3, 2012I have a piece of software with two tabs, inside each tab there are buttons (the user can add the buttons when they want). when tab1 is full tab2 should start to fill. I currently know how many buttons fit on the screen so I just say something like if buttons > 150 then start to populate tab 2 The problem i have now though is if the resolution is changed then a different amount of buttons can be displayed. so if I put my screen to 1280x720 some buttons are left of. I was thinking of detecting the resolution and then using different cases for different resolutions but this seems very inefficient im wondering if there is a different way?

This works fine. But when the grid is dropped on a TabControl tabpage, the ctrl-tab looks very different to the sub above. e.keycode is seen as controlkey {17} I realize that by default cntrl-Tab moves between tabpages. I need to override this behavior. My thought is I probably need a subclass of the tabControl which will pass the keycombo through just as the form does but I confess to being clueless as to how to accomplish that. I tried to override the onkeydown of a tabcontrol subclass and just issuing a return and not and base call to onkeydown if the ctrl-tab combo was pressed but it seemed to see the e.keycode as controlkey as well.

Jul 19, 2010I would like it so my users can decide to add images to the form, but every time they add a new form, it is inserted directly below the last one (until the end of the page is reached). Then when the images reach the bottom of the page it starts a new column. I would also like padding around each new image and for the images to rearrange when the form is resized. Is this possible? How would I do this?

So for an example:

So the user would type text, insert the button where they want it and be able to click the button to change the answer.

When I click the button I called the function and datasource binded to propertyyGrid, its working fine. The same way am binding the grid from another class.vb, the datasource binding not throwing any exception. But the data not showing in the grid. Should I need to change any modifier.

I managed to do it using rectangles and graphics.rectangle (pens.black, rect) by using a vid on youtube, but it made the application virtually useless because of all the memory it was using. I don't need it to be an actual grid, but I do need it to have values as if it was a grid, so that I can issue commands (x,y coords). (I have been searching the forums for over an hour, but all examples are either useless or cant be converted correctly).
