I am trying to wirte a function for a Phone number class called "import phone number". It should take any string with 10 digits in it somewhere (and allow for an extension), and import them into it's own properties: AreaCode, Prefix, Suffix, and Extension (aaa-ppp-ssss-xxxx...).
I check the input with a regex to make sure it's valid, now i want to tokenize those pieces into their respective properties. What I have looks like this (incomplete):
Public Sub ImportPhoneNumber(ByVal anyNumber As String)
'phone number is 10-digits long, e.g.: 012-345-6789
Dim reg_exp_10 As New Regex("^((D*)d(D*)){9}((D*)d){1}(((x|ext){1}(d)+)?|D*)$", RegexOptions.IgnoreCase)
[Code].....

(^(+[1-9][0-9]*(([0-9]*)/-[0-9]*-))?[0]?[1-9][0-9-]*)/(^([0-9]( /-)?)?((?[0-9]{3})?/[0-9]{3})( /-)?([0-9]{3}( /-)?[0-9]{4}/[a-zA-Z0-9]{7}))$I'm trying to write a RegEx to check for International and Domestic phone numbers. This appears to be working for domestic phone numbers but it doesn't look to work for international numbers. Is there something I'm missing? Can anyone else try this with numbers you know and just let me know if it's missing anything?

C1 has a circle around him, with a diameter of lets say 20px.
Now the problem is, i need a formula to check if C2 is in the circle of C1.

I have a string which is like this - MVAL("A","01-01-1900")+MVAL(B,"01-01-1900")+MVAL("C")+MVAL(D). Now I want to extract B AND D out of this using regex because it is the first parameter and it has no quotes around it in both the overloaded version of the functions. Secondly because MVAL function is an overloaded function with two versions like MVAL("A") and MVAL(B,"01-01-1900") how will I find which version of the function is being used.
I'm using System.Text.RegularExpressions.Regex method.

Has anyone created a regex that matches each of the cell references in a given Excel formula? I'm trying to extract a list of cell references into an ArrayList from a provided Excel formula. Ideally, the ArrayList would also preserve any cross-tab or cross-workbook reference information. The key is for the regex to be compatible with any potential Excel formula, as the formula will change with each use.This seems to capture cross-workbook references:
'[.+'!($?[A-Z]+$?[0-9]+(:$?[A-Z]+$?[0-9]+))

I'm in need of some help trying to figure out the RegEx formula for finding the values within the tags of HTML mark-up like this:
<span class=""releaseYear"">1993</span>
<span class=""mpaa"">R</span>
<span class=""average-rating"">2.8</span>
<span class=""rt-fresh-small rt-fresh"" title=""Rotten Tomatoes score"">94%</span>
I only need 1993, R, 2.8 and 94% from that HTML above.

I am trying to make a loop to calculate the total costs for 12 days of costs. It has to compound sort of though. I need the total = cost for day 1(includes day 1) + cost for day 2(includes day 1 and 2) + cost for day 3(includes day 1, 2, and 3).....up to day 12. I have a for/next loop in my array, but it calculates the total for 12 days, but I need it to add as explained above. I have been strategizing and the program needs V= day 1 then add V to T. Then V needs to clear and then loop again so V=day 1 + day 2 then add V to T. Then V needs to clear and loop again so V=day 1 + day 2 + day 3 then add V to T and clear V.........up until all days are added together. If anyone has any suggestions or any idea of what I am talking about please comment! Here is the link to another forum that might explain the program in more detail:
Here is the code for my program so far:

I addressed a meeting and used the following....she worked there for 17 years.I was corrected later that it should have been 16 years.I argued that the first year of this persons employment was 1966 and her last years work was 1982. Therefore 17 years.Does someone have an articulate mathmatic reasoning that explains dealing with inclusive numbers.

I'm developing an application that generates mobile GSM numbers, but i need to find a way to make sure each generated number (e.g: +23408068576645egin_of_the_skype_highlighting +23408068576645 end_of_the_skype_highlighting) is in use and importantly the CellID or location parameters of the number: the software is not a mobile app, but rather a Desktop app.

I wrote a basic mobile directory search for work. When I apply the jQuery Mobile code to the results page it no longer allows my android device to "tap" on the phone number (formatted as xxx-xxx-xxxx) and have it pre-fill the dialer on the phone. Without the jQM it works fine. Am I missing something, do I have to tag the phone number a certain way in order to get the phone to recognize it again? The jQM applies the "data-role=listview" to my unordered list and nested unordered list.

I'm supposed to design this program in ConsoleApplication about Phone Numbers:
You are writing a program and you need to store telephone numbers. You'd like to be user-friendly, and let the users enter their telephone number in whatever format they like with parentheses and dashes, so long as they enter 10 digits. Assume that they won't enter any other characters. The user will only enter ( ) - spaces and numbers.So, these would all be valid inputs

In my application I have fields where a phone number can be copied and pasted in a field. I want to strip that number of ),(,- and spaces. I want to use a function so I can just give the number a value like:
Public Function StripPhoneNumber(ByVal PhoneNumber As String) As String
PhoneNumber = Replace(PhoneNumber, "'", "")
PhoneNumber = Replace(PhoneNumber, ")", "")
PhoneNumber = Replace(PhoneNumber, "(", "")
PhoneNumber = Replace(PhoneNumber, " ", "")
PhoneNumber = Replace(PhoneNumber, "-", "")
Return PhoneNumber
End Function
Then in my form just simply type Phone= StripPhoneNumber(txtPhone.text)
I just needed to add the Return. It works. What do I need to do to that code to make it return a value?

I am trying to parse the parameters of Excel formulas like "=a(b)", "=a(b,c)", "=a(b,c,d)". I'd like extract the function name "a" and the parameters "b", "c" and "d".
There are loads of examples on SO to parse HTML and so forth, but none specifically for parentheses.
So far, I've got this "=(.+)(([^,)]*)(,[^,)]*)*)" but when I parse "=a(b,c,d)" it puts "a" in match(1), "b" in match(2) and ",d" in match(3). So "c" is lost and the comma before the "d" is a pain.
How can I parse a string like this with an arbitrary number of parameters, ideally dropping the commas?
The ability to parse "=a(b(c),d(e(f)))" would be great...
Edit: I know that a parser is the correct solution and I have used Devin Cook's excellent Gold Parser with great results before.
However, the particular case I'm facing is to extract the arguments from a known Excel formula. Specifically, if the formula contains the string "=Travel(", I know that it will have 4 arguments and if they don't parse it's not a problem. This is simply a "nice to have" function which can fail occasionally without it being an issue.
regex for "=a(b,c,d)", "=a(b,c,d,e)", etc., with the constraint that there will be no nested parentheses or commas?

I am wanting to allow a user to enter a number and depending on what number is entered, it will allow that many entries. For example, if 5 is entered, the user has to enter 5 numbers. Those 5 numbers will then be added together.I 6 is entered, 6 total numbers will be added.I was trying to do this with a for next loop but I wasn't getting anywhere.

On my form I have 4 Phone Number fields, at least one of them has to have a number entered for contact purposes. I am trying to check and see if at least one is. I declared a form variable;'declare a variable to see if at least 1 phone number has been entered Dim count As Integer = 0..In the text changed event I do this;[code]But when I add a breakpoint as soon as I run the app it says count is 1 on the first phonenumber. What is the error in my logic. Somehow I need to be able to tab through all 4 controls and if they are all empty then let the user know they need to enter at least 1 phone number.

I am pretty new on regular expressions, but as far as I've been wandering around Google, the only thing I could do to solve my problem is through regex. I have a collection of strings which have patterns like these:
"3 - Orange, Lemon"
"4 - Pineapple, Orange"
"12 - Lime, Strawberry"
[Code]...
Only the first few numbers. A comment, suggestion, or point to the right links/articles would help because so far I couldn't manage to find a decent tutorials that easy to understand.

I am making a program, where the user enters 6 numbers in 6 different text boxes, and it displays the larger of those 6 numbers. But I also want to make it where if the user enters a string value (like S for instance) in the text boxes, it gives an message and says "please enter the numbers again" and the user gets to enter the 6 numbers again. But when I do try to do that, it gives an error message saying conversion from "w/e the user entered" to Double is not valid. If the user just enters the numbers, it works fine. However, I am trying to make it if the user does enter non numeric value, it gives a message window and the user can reenter the numbers again.
Here is my code Example
CODE:
This is where I am trying to use IsNumeric to show a message if a user does not enter a string so the user can renter the numbers again, but when the user does enter a string value (say in textbox 1) it gives me an error message saying conversion from "S" to 'double' is not valid.
CODE:
Then right here this is where I have my series of ifs statements, this part works fine, it displays the largest numbers of the 6 textboxes every time. Error free.
CODE:
And do this with variable number 2, 3, 4, 5.
I know there are easier ways to do these with arrays and stuff. But I am not there yet. I am still learning about ifs and stuff.

Dim valid AS Boolean = Regex.IsMatch(TextBox1.Text, "^(,?d+){0,20}$")Allow numbers exactly like 32,1,6,32,12,21,21,54,675,8,4,3,2,9,0,21,21,21,43,744 in TextBox1. Perfect.
