WinHTTPRequest.ResponseText Not Returning The Full HTML?
Jun 16, 2011
I tried to use WinHTTP Request to retrieve a webpage (HTTPS website) in VB.Net and for some reason it was only returning the partial HTML, is there any length restriction on the number of characters it could take? If so, can I get the content after, say, 10000th character?
I am trying to automate a daily download of a file on one of our customer's sites. I have run into a challenge because the file name does not fit into a patter. The file name in addition to the days date usually contains about 12 digits randomly generated by their system. what I need to do in order to automate this?
Const HTTP_PATH = "https://sitewithfiles.com/vendor/" Const LOCAL_PATH = "\mycomputerdownloads" Public Sub Get_daily()
I have a funtion that returns a generated PDF file but the problem is it shows it in the current browser window... I need for it to open in a new window. I dont see how I can pass it into a view for displaying where I could simply use target: _blank.
Function showUserPDF(ByVal pdfName As String) As ActionResult Dim _fileName As String = pdfName Dim _path As String = Path.Combine(AppDomain.CurrentDomain.BaseDirectory) +
This morning I was trying to work out how to update a User Control from a button on a page using jQuery.Refresh User Control with jQuery. From the info gleaned from this article: http [url]...I now have a method of loading a User Control as a page with jQuery using the converted .VB example from the codeproject.com article.However... this won't render into the browser, Firebug is giving the error "element must be contained within a form runat=server tag" So I posted this question:
re: better way to manage a dynamic select list using jQuery and User Control.Since posting that though,I have thought about it further, and believe it is the fact that the jQuery Handler class created by the codeproject code is send the browser a complete page.Given that I sadly don't really understand what that codeproject code actually does I am having trouble working out how to alter it.What I need it to do is not return a Page at all, but I guess, an HTML string, which can then be pasted directly as HTML into the div as required.how to alter that code to return an HTML string?
I am trying to use my web browser control to get retrieve date from a specific page, including all sub-page content. Problem is some of the sub-pages are on a separate domain and thus I am getting a permission deigned error when i try to access the frame [through document.windows.frames(i).document].Is there any work around to do this, even if I have to manually change security settings? I tried turning all my settings in IE to allow and still same error. I will only be running the app locally and no one will be browsing on IE so I can literally change anything needed to get this to work (even install older version of IE which may allow it but can still handle JS processing).
Note the reason I am using web browser is a great majority of data I will be accessing is JS generated, so I need to access the DOM after JS processed / generated the HTML. Because of this, simply using SOCKETS to get the HTML is really not an option. Even if I had the HTML, I still need some type of engine to process all of the DOM elements based off javascript.
I have made quite a nice and tidy little game. Its based around space invaders and works quite well. however because i have finished my college project almost 2 weeks ahead of the assignments release date, my tutor has asked me to tweak my project and make it better. So far i have added a full main menu to the game and a full splash screen. I would like to add in a section for recorded high scores but have no idea how to attempt this at all.
I have an ASP.NET web application (VB.NET) using an Oracle database. On an insert, I need to get the identity of the inserted row back. I am trying to use RETURNING, but I keep getting a value of 1 returned.
Dim strInsert As String = "INSERT INTO L.TRANSACTIONS (LOCATION_KEY, TRANS_CREATOR, TRANS_EMAIL, TRANS_PHONE) VALUES (:location_key, :trans_creator, :trans_email, :trans_phone) RETURNING TRANS_ID INTO :ukey"
This may sound really stupid but I have to ask cause I'm not finding this answer anywhere.I have an application where the user will need to sign up for a new user account on the website [URL]..However when I am using Firefox's plug-in Firebug to view html I am getting something totally different than when I just right click on the site and view the page source.
What I am trying to do is to get the captcha from the website and display it in a picturebox on the application so the user can view the captcha, solve the captcha and then the app post is back to the service for a response.
Here is the source that I am getting using Firefox's Firebug to inspect the element:
<td> <input type="hidden" value="Oo3Jo1I8bgzK68agMqo3s79ZZib2OkbK" name="iden"> <img class="capimage" src="/captcha/Oo3Jo1I8bgzK68agMqo3s79ZZib2OkbK.png" alt="i wonder if these things even work"> </td>
[Code]...
Why would the two be showing me two different versions of the HTML?
And how would you be able to grab that source to view in a picturebox using webclient?
My brain may just be fried since it's the end of the semester, but my teacher kicked this back to fix and resubmit...she said that I am "returning the name of your function rather than your variable name".
Here is my code for all 3 forms.
code:
These are forms to calculate the cost of getting a cell phone package.
Usage: Users create pretty HTML news letters in another app. They post the newsletter to the web, but they also want to set the contents of the HTML news letter file as the body of an email and send it using Application In Question. The users understand to use absolute link and image references when sending an E Newsletter. Environment:
AIQ is a VB.Net app deployed via ClickOnce. It is an intranet app; one can be sure MS Office 2003 and the interop 11 dlls are on the target machines.
Restrictions: MAPI is out. It mangles the HTML. Since it is a ClickOnce deployment, we can't register dlls (I think, correct me if I am wrong). Therefore CDO and COM is out (again, I may be wrong.... I would be happy to be proven so).
Need a bit of help with HTML Agility Pack!Basically I want to grab plain-text withing the body node of the HTML. So far I have tried this in vb.net and it fails to return the innertext meaning no change is seen, well atleast from what I can see.
Dim htmldoc As HtmlDocument = New HtmlDocument htmldoc.LoadHtml(html) Dim paragraph As HtmlNodeCollection = htmldoc.DocumentNode.SelectNodes("//body")
I am trying save a value from an input tag in some HTML source code. The tag looks like so:
<input name="user_status" value="3" />
I have the page source in a variable (pageSourceCode), and need to work out some regex to get the value (3 in this example). I have this so far: [Code] Which works fine most of the time, however this code is used to process source code from multiple sites (that use the same platform), and sometimes there are other attributes included in the input tag, or they are in a different order, eg:
I am trying to build my own website and realized that it would be a big help to also create my own vb program to enable me to embed tags with simple clicks of buttons. I am having trouble getting my vb code to be compatible with html code (I keep getting vb syntax errors).
Here is what I've tried:
<strong>'Inside of a button:Textbox1.text = "<html tag example></html tag example>"</strong>
I have to submit a HTML form to a 3rd party website and one of the hidden fields is an XML string. The XML needs escaping before it is sent to the 3rd party.
However when I add the plain XML to the form field it semi-escapes it for me. So then when I use HTMLEncode myself part of the XML is double-escaped. How do I prevent the automatic escaping that appears to becoming from .NET.
Or even better how else can send the escaped XML via the hidden field.
I have constructed a form in ASP.NET MVC 2 that is bound to a Model, using code similar to below to generate my inputs and wrapping them within Ajax.BeginForm("MyAction").
I have a html string like this:[code]I wish to strip all html tags so that the resulting string becomes:From another post here at SO I've come up with this function (which uses the Html Agility Pack):[code]
I'm looking for an efficient means of extracting an html "fragment" from an html document. My first implementation of this used the Html Agility Pack. This appeared to be a reasonable way to attack this problem, until I started running the extraction on large html documents - performance was very poor for something so trivial (I'm guessing due to the amount of time it was taking to parse the entire document).[code]...
I am making a html application and would like to make an ftp as a folder for the html you are writing, similar to that of visual basic's solution explorer. eg. images wont show from the index location, basicaly something allong the slines of a local ftp / solution explorer is needed desparatley.
I have another question.I have taken an HTML file called "template.html" and got its content. Then I change some variables and save it to a new file in the same directory. Afterwards, there is something else I need to do before saving but I don't know how.In the template.html file, I have a table which should represent a table from a SQL database which means I would need to loop it. But I don't know how to loop that.
I am trying to get the full name of a user given their user id "domainusarname". Tried a couple of different examples, but none seem to work.I am using Visual Basic .Net 2010.I had originally found the following code in VBS and ported to VBA and worked nicely. If I try to use the same code in VB.NET 2010 I get multiple errors and the LDAP path not found, even if I enter it manually.
Function FindUser() On Error GoTo Err Dim objRoot As Variant
Im working on a Dll Injector. But that is not my problem. I am using a picturebox to display the icon of a running process.E.g. If google chrome is running. The picturebox should display the icon of google chrome.I can extract the icon to my picturebox only if I know the full path of the process. That API was easily found and works very well. But know I want my application to get the full path of a running process automatically as soon as I order it.Like in a textbox is write: chrome.exe, and press the button next to it. What do I need to write in the button to get the full path of that running process.(of course only if its running, I if its not running I dont want anything to happned)
I have an Input box that allows users to enter their full name. How do I break this input apart into first and last name to display tham into seperate boxes?
So I have a pretty simple UDF written in visual basic for use in excel. It calculates your approx. taxes. Lets say I use it as such: =Taxes(I23-I18,I24-I20,"Married")
If I type this in it works great. Now if I save the sheet and restart excel the cell now says #VALUE! If I select the formula and hit enter once again it recalculates it fine. What am I doing wrong? Application.Volatile shouldn't be needed but I was trying ideas. [Code]
