If you remember in visual basic 6.0 there is a activix called VTAPI that represent the onDTMF event and PlayBackFile method:when user select number during a call, the OnDTMF event retrive the numbers or symbols and PlayBackFile can play a file when incoming call was answered.
My question is: Is there any component that can answer a incoming call and play sound and retrive the data from modem in vs 2005-2008-2010?
After upgrading my solution with both c# and vb.net projects I have encountered some problems:
1. When for example writing Public Property MaxDate As Date and pressing enter it does not create the Get/Set values
2. Refactoring is not available
3. The properties window is blank when viewing classes (normally I would see Serializable and COM properties to the right)Intellisense works and the above problems work in new projects.
I am attempting to call a remote modem using a local modem connected via USB. Programming language is VB.NET and I am using the SerialPort control to talk to the modem.
Communication is as follows:
I send: ATZ0[CR]
Modem responds: ATZ0[CR][CR][LF]OK[CR][LF]
I then try to dial a number:
I send: ATDTnnnnnnnnnn[CR] where nnnnnnnnnn is a valid number
The modem responds with:ATDTnnnnnnnnnn[CR][CR][LF]ERROR[CR][LF]
All other commands seem to work without any issues
For info the modem is a MultiTech MT5634ZBA-USB-V92
If I use hyperterminal and type the same commands in it works as expected and dials the number, so it must be something I am doing in my code, possible some setup in the SerialPort control
(from scratch as I've not done this before) how I can stream live through modem-to-modem connection. The modem here refers to dial-up modem (PSTN modem), there is no internet/lan involved.It will be 2 programs, the first is to transmit real-time video from webcam, and the second is to remote video from the first.

If the modem have some problem, for example doesn't have network, or even doesn't have a SIM card, I dont know if the message was sent or not. How can I test if the message was sucefully sent?

View 8 RepliesI just installed Microsoft Ribbon for WPF 2010 on 2 different windows 7 boxes. If I make a .net 3.5 project it works fine but a .net 4.0 it does not.I can load the sample ribbon application and it works but when I drag the ribbon controls over they just make a transparent box. I notice it does not make the XAML correct. Here is the code, 4.0 on top then 3.5 below it. Is there some setting or option I need to change?

It eventually morphed into a program and a library class (dll) so I could save/retrieve the byte serialization/desrerialization file from a different program that would use the same dll that originally serialized file in the first program. But, the first program seems to own the serialized file, not the DLL. The first progam is GenerateEventList and has the added reference Imports EventDBS which is the DLL. The second program EventDisplay also has Imports EventDBS to read the file. It produces the exception:

I know my modem is fine, I can use hyperterminal to call out on it with no problem.So, how involved is it to talk to a modem? Given the modem name, I need the com port associated with that modem (so that I can set the modem baud rate directly through the serial port). I also need a way to determine if that port is already in use.
