I have a listview attached to a dbase app I am working on, the last column has a price value and I would like to create a total value for this column in a label or text box below the listview control.I was searching back the old posts looking for some pointers or a code snippet that would do this, but was unable to find anything. i'm using vb 2008.

I am developing a module in DotNetNuke using Telerik controls. I need to upload files to the server in the user interface, so I am using the RadUpload control and the RadProgressArea/RadProgressManager.

When I hit the button, it does a postback to the page, but the files do not get uploaded. I tried using the autoupload functions and specifying pysical and virtual paths but that didn't work. I did it exactly like they said. I manually registered the controls in my web.config, then removed them and used the auto-register feature to re-register thinking maybe I did something wrong, but I'm still at a loss.

View 6 RepliesI am trying to creat a program to automate many of the things I do when I build a computer. I was attempting to do this via batch files but got stuck when I needed to search the registry for cetain keys and delete the parrent folder in which it resides in.
For instance: Installing a MS Loop Back Adapter I found a utility that works at the command promt called DEVCON that will allow me to install a MS Loop Back Adapter. I was doing this through a batch file but found that I can call the utility through VB and get the same result (of course I still need to have the DEVCON.exe)

I am trying to search through items in listview control in vb.net one by one. i.e When the user types in some keyworrk in the textbox and presses enter, the first found item in the listview should get highlighted, when he presses enter again, the second search item in the listview should get highlighted and so on.
I am not fully aware of how to keep track of already found items while searching. As of now , I am searching all the items in the listbx using the code :

That is the code I have, Its supposed to enable/disable the back forward button. But it doesn't work. I have:

This now happened to one of my ASP .Net pages. The page uses a user control, aspx page, and a master page. It uses no redirects and seems to be happening when I click the back button and then the forward button (after the forward button is clicked, it does not fire the Load event and the back button becomes disabled).

I have a listview1 with two columns Name and Age. This code when I click on a listview item it is higlited and then i click on textbox1 it will remove the row and place the text in textbox1 and textbox2. Then when I double click on textbox1, it will add the text back into listview1 at the bottom of the list. I want to place the two columns at the same place it came out of. I am using the xmldocument (loadxml) and xmlPathNavigator to parse xml files I am compiling through a incoming stream. The first point of processing the files is to split the file into the different entries and add those to a list. I do this using either xmlPathNavigator or string.split if either one fails.At times both will fail because of some issue in the xml and would still like to salvage the file contents without having to fix the xml. I tried to use regex parsing but its not producing the content as I would like. I use the following code but in the end I do not get all the contents of the entry, only those between some of the tags.

View 5 RepliesI'm having trouble with a DropDownList within a GridView that posts a NULL value when in fact a value is selected from the list when using inline editing.
The problem is that I can't use this method to bind the value to the UpdateCommand in my SqlDataSource:
SelectedValue='<%# Bind("Value") %>'
The reason for this is because the value might not exist in the list so it throws an exception.
Is there a way I can bind the value to the UpdateCommand without using SelectedValue?
I am writing a basic blog application to learn mvc 3. I have problems retrieving posts by category. The url looks like /Blog/Browse/Category_Name. I can get the posts if i hard code a value for category. So it would seem that Category_Name is not getting pass to my EF statement in my controller. the category had a period in it so it was not matching.

The characteristics of CSV data are:The comma character is used to separate the fields. I am doing an assignment for class and it is searching an SQL Database file. On the GUI I have a text box and a button to search this database. I am currently trying to develop a program, for personal use, that will monitor the lending of items of music equipments to friends and family etc. And, for my program, I have a requirement, which is the ability to search a relational database, for items loaned, through my program, based on criteria entered in a set of text boxes located upon the program's form. I have already set up the form, and have searched the Internet high and low, to no avail (probably didn't look hard enough).e,I would also like to make another request... if possible I would like to achieve this task with use of the 'LIKE' statement, so that I don't have to input the criteria in full, when I wish to search the database.
The database that I am using is a standard Microsoft Office Access database, saved in a '.mdf' format, and the database comprises of three tables; LoanTbl (which specifies the loan details), EquipTbl (which contains information about the equipment loaned) and a LinkTbl (which forms the relationship between these former two tables) - the reason for the LinkTbl, even though it may seem unnecessary, is because the data has undergone 'normalisation', so that it is stored in the most efficient way possible.
Also, whilst I am on the point of linking together my program and database, does anyone also possibly have any ideas as to ways in which to add data to this relational database; I do have coding for this, however, it only applies to a stand-alone table, whereas there are relationships between my tables.
I am in the process of creating a program that is linked to a database. I want to automatically generate a reference number that is not already present in this database, to do this i know i am going to need to search the database to check whether that number is already present or not.
