I have created my site using ASP.NET Personal Starter Kits 3.5. I use Visual Studio 2008 only . .with its built-in SQL Server (2005 Express) ... my database in App_Data is ASPNETDB.MDF ...I have created some of my tables also ....in ASPNETDB ..In my local PC the site was running fine ...But when I publish my site on production server it doesn't work and shows the following error

There is a .Net executable (with a group of DLL's etc) that up to 100 people will be using simulatiously during the course of the day. Is it still acceptable/good practice to have all the users just have a shortcut to the network path for this executable? Or would it be better to copy the .exe, .dll's, etc locally to each users machine?

So the project I am doing is associated with iTunes. iTunes allows people to have one library. There is another way, but it is very confusing to some people, and very unreliable. So my project is that I will allow people to have multiple iTunes libraries on one computer. So the problem is this. In order to have an option to choose your library, I gotta make sure that iTunes is not running. So this is the script:

For my program to work i need to download a text file from the server. For example Text.txt In that text file for example i have 3 file names

I have a table "People" with the following columns:
-FullName (nvarchar not null)
-DOB (datetime null)
I want to write a LINQ to SQL to group the people by age, like following result:
Age 19: 4 ppl
Age 20: 5 ppl
Age 21: 6 ppl
Here's my try:

Notice that there are no DOB record for some people in the tables, so these shall not be included. The DOB column has record like this 1982-10-24 10:12:45 AM because it's a DateTime column.

the old string is splitted by "|" character but the name is lower. How to format just the first title name to Upper and other to lower in vb.net but the data to change is two thousand or more..

View 5 Replies[Code] The above code does not work. I need for this to check to see if there is a database entry with the office name and today's date. Then if not it needs to tell the user that it is going to create a new entry for todays date. Then the code is trying to enter a new row in the database but it is like i can't use command. commandtext = in two spots. Both SQL commands work if separated but not together in this code. Obviously the abcdefghij are just test entries but it works if it is separated from the other sql command above. Also of course i have changed the datasource above to hide mine.

View 1 Repliesconnect my vb.net application to a remote sql server database, so every one who installs the application would be able to connect to the same remote database. the application would obviously require the internet to run.i also want the option to add more databases in the future, preferably one for each business who would use my software.i am wondering the best way to set up this server that could hold multiple databases. i would think i have two options:
1) set up the server myself on a dedicated computer
2) pay for some type of service that host sql server dataases
