So, I make a public array: Public files As ArrayList
I try to add a value to the array inside of the "Form1_Load": files.add("Hello")
Which returns a null error. how to add values to a public array for multiple subs to access?

I want to declare a set of arraylists and the base values so that they are available throughout the entire program. When I set the declaration for the array list as public and attempt to add a value to the array the add.("john")is underlined in blue and it says end of statement is expected.
I have an array of people stored in a custom structure array... how can i copy this array to a temp array so that the temp array has all the same values as the original custom array?
View 4 RepliesAt runtime, I have a collection of rows (Row class). Each of them consist of column values, represented by instances of a ColumnValue class. The name of the columns are determined at runtime, and are in a separate columns descriptor collection (Column class).I want to create a DataGridView that displays all Row instances. Of course, the DataGridView's columns shall be exactly those specified by the Column instances in the containing collection.But since DataGridView's columns can fetch their values from a list item's public properties only, and I cannot easily define such a property at runtime, I cannot use DataGridView to display the tabular data.

It seems to work fine in Form1.vb but module1.vb complains about that it isn't declared.

i am new at everything VB.net/ASP.net. I have an ASCX.vb page that lets the user choose someone from a table. Once they do select someone, the page reloads with that persons information into another table below that one where they can submit an order for that person or remove that person. Problem being is that i wanted to store the users ID that are selected but it seems that everytime the page reloads to show an update, it dim's my array again back to default. This is my code once they choose a user:

I want it to take each number from the player's number array individually and compare them to each row individually in the lotto results array i.e. the first six cells in each row in the results array will be compared with each user number to find any matches, if a value matches then a count is incremented. if the count is greater than 2 but i'm getting no where with it :( i've been trying to use the For To loops but keep getting index out of range, or else nothing is happening at all!
