View 6 RepliesThat works fine, but the highlighted line creates a new bitmap, so the exif metadata are not exported to the resized image.
Is there a way to resize a picture without loosing exif data?
Creating a new bitmap with the new size is the only way to resize a picture?
I've almost finished my multimedia project. On the photobrowser (which constructs thumbnails of every photo in a folder and draws them onto a bitmap which I then make persistent and from which the user can select a thumbnail and the image is shown in full on a new form). You can print the bitmap consisting of 100s of thumbnails or the full image associated with a thumbnail. The onloy thing missing is getting all the Exif info - which is proving more difficult than I expected despite the propetyitems in vb.net. Yes, I have set the encoding to UTF8 etc.

I have convert my image into the byte array and then encoded it in Base64 string format but when i try to send that image to the server it give me an error of soap fault. Here's the my code of android device:

I am working on a project where I create image files from calculations done from user inputs. The work is saved as jpg images in various sized and I want to add EXIF data to the saved filed and later on retreive these data again so the user can continue working on the basis of a re-opened image file as I hope to store the project variables as metadata in the image file.
View 1 RepliesI play a game and in the game you acquire skills which you can display on the screen in a box very similar to a data grid. The grid has 3 columns and X number of rows.Column 1 is the name of the skill, column 2 has a descriptive term like "Beginner" and column has the number of points you have acquired in that skill. So it would look something like this:[code]Remember that it is in a data grid so it has cells like an Excel spreed sheet.The program that I use is able to parse the skill name and the points and save that information outside the game to a n area in the program.My question is, is this possible to do something similar in VB? That is something like, Press a hot key, with will get a screen shot, parse the data and save to a data grid in my VB program.

View 1 RepliesI have used .NET and ShDocVw for years to grab data off webpages without any issues I couldn't overcome. This website has me beat though. It seems like such as easy task to grab the titles and other information off a library search page, but I can't see the data to be able to grab it. Usually, I just look in the DOM, but the data wasn't there. I did a view source, but the data wasn't there.

I am trying to read a 16bit binary file (tif image) and pixel values of the image ranges from 1200 to 4500. I tried to use BinaryReader using ReadUInt16 but I get EndOfStreamException Unhandled error. ReadByte method works fine with an 8bit tif file. I do not know how to read a 16bit image file using binaryReader. Shouldn't I use ReadUInt16 since values of pixels range from 1200 to 4500?

I'm stuck on a problem that I haven't been able solve. I'm making a visual basic program that communicates with an SQL-database. The problem emerged when I tried to retrieve data from the database with the help of SqlDataReader and save data from every row to a list (Customer) with the help of Add-method. It turned out that eventually the list had correct number of objects, but the information was the very same in each object of the list.

How can I kill the excel.exe process in SSIS during the data flow task when it fails? There could be multiple instances of Excel.exe running from other packages that are perfectly valid so I don't want to loop through all instances killing them.My problem is that during the data flow task the process will sometimes fail due to a sheet that is named incorrectly or missing columns. This keeps an instance of excel.exe running which is now an orphan task eating up resources so it needs to be killed.At the same time there are other SSIS packages running that are accessing their own excel.exe process and aren't having any issues. So how can I kill the orphan excel.exe process without impacting the other excel.exe process?
View 2 RepliesI'm using the ExifTools code to read and update the EXIF for JPEGs in a VB.NET project I am developing. So far I've been successful with doing what I need to but I'm having difficulty with the last thing on my wishlist- the "Keywords" or "Tags" entry. The "Tags" property (as accessed by file right-click->properties->Details and just below the rating stars) is populated with information but if I use the PropertyItem for Keywords (Value 40094) with the ExifTools GetPropertyValue() function, it returns nothing.
It's pretty obvious that the "Tags" entry under file properties is not the same thing as what EXIF defines as "Keywords" but I have not been able to figure out what the correct PropertyItem value to pass is.
I'm writing a program which uses sockets, Now the issue I'm having is, If the packet received is over a certain size, the socket then fails to receive anymore packets/data after it.

I have been looking for weeks for a way to update the exif metadata on a picture. There have been some individuals who tried to help, and there were others who simply referred me to a website, without any knowledge of the problem, or a possible solution.
Now I will take a different approach.
I will PAY for a working library. I want to be able to do these things from the inside of a VB program. Does anyone know of any commercial packages that will allow me to EASILY update the metadata on a picture? I am sure SOMEONE has already done this successfully. I just don't know if these companies wrote their stuff from scratch, or purchased libraries themselves.
I have many jpg images from a camera, I add a description using exifworks to modify exif data. What is the difference between saving as format.jpeg or format.exif. I had been saving as jpeg with no differences noted but which is correct & why?

View 1 RepliesIm working on a HSD 32 bit data bus to serial converter via a microcontroller. Now first I want to make a sort of data sniffer to read the data bus (32Bit) .All on the controller side is working and the stream of bytes are coming in via RS232 as 4 bytes in HEX like FD,A5,45,8B . I already converted the bytes in Dec and ASCII to determine what is passed true the bus and how fast and stuff.. Now that is all correct and working very well if the LSB (least significant bit) of the 32 data bus is Data line 0 and the MSB (most significant bit) is Data line 31 but if that is not the case I need to invert the 32Bits (like as I would invert the connector on the bus) . How do I best do this using the 4 bytes I send from the micro controller.
Example:
(MSB) 01001000 01100101 01101100 01110000 (LSB)
HEX= 48 65 6C 70
DEC= 72,101,108,112
ASCII= H E L P
I need to invert it with a button to:
(MSB) 00001110 00110110 10100110 00010010 (LSB)
HEX= 0E 36 A6 12
DEC= 14,54,166,18
ASCII= (SO) 6 : (DC2)
If something is written in VB is it compatible with android?If so, can you give me some documentation?
