Sql Server - SSIS - Killing Excel.exe When Data Flow Task Fails?

How can I kill the excel.exe process in SSIS during the data flow task when it fails? There could be multiple instances of Excel.exe running from other packages that are perfectly valid so I don't want to loop through all instances killing them.My problem is that during the data flow task the process will sometimes fail due to a sheet that is named incorrectly or missing columns. This keeps an instance of excel.exe running which is now an orphan task eating up resources so it needs to be killed.At the same time there are other SSIS packages running that are accessing their own excel.exe process and aren't having any issues. So how can I kill the orphan excel.exe process without impacting the other excel.exe process?

I am trying to create a datagrid and export the contents to a text file using VB.NET and I am doing this inside an SSIS script task in order to automate the process to export a dynamic table to text file. I don't get any error and the files are created but the files are empty. [code]

My DBA has several SSIS packages that he would like the functionality of providing the end user with a way to input values for variables in the package. What would be the best solution for creating an application that would take the user input and pass the data through to the SSIS package variables?
I can get this work locally using this code

I have a SSIS package that runs every 5min.My package has an error routine in the onError event handler but I don't want it to get in there.So in fact, the package should just exit / close / kill itself without any warning or error.Preferably this should be initiated by the script task (vb.net 2008)

I have set up several tasks on a new installation of Windows 7 and they are working as expected.But when I attempted to run a batch file it fails. It works fine from the command line and I can run it from the scheduler on Windows XP manually (although not on the timer yet).What is about batch files that I need to know to make them run from the Task Scheduler?

I'm currently creating an SSIS job that will pull picture data from a SQL database and write each picture to a file. We have an ID system that stores all images taken of staff directly to database fields, but we're going to be moving to a new system that stores all of the images as files in paths by User ID.
I have already created my main data flow that gets all of the users and the proper path, but I'm having trouble writing the script component that will create the images. I have the image data as a string, but how do I get it to go out to a file at the proper path?

I'm currently using SQL Server 2005 and I've created a business intelligence solution that has a "Package1" copying a table from a database to my local database. I tried executing this package/solution from my .Net IDE and it worked.
Later, I tried creating a job that will execute the package at the intervals of 1 hour per day using SQL Server Agent but when I get to the part where I select the type of job (under the "Job step property", I can't find the job type of "SQL Server Integration Services Package". I've been following this: http://www.mssqltips.com/tip.asp?tip=1180 tutorial but I can't execute my job probably because I'm using an incorrect job type.

I am trying to do something fairly simple.. allow my user to import thier data from Excel into SQL Server, where it can be used by the application.To do this, I'm using the fairly simple code that is common everywhere I look:

Now, on my development computer this code works perfectly. The data imports, and I can go on my merry way.
On the TEST computer, this code throws the error: "ODBC -- Connection to {SQL Server} servernamesqlservername failed." This seems very odd to me, because I'm using exactly the same SQL Server and database to interact with the application, and all the other screens in the application work perfectly. The test computer CAN connect to this SQL Server, but it keeps throwing this error whenever I try import data from Excel.I've tried everything I can think of - using the server's IP address instead of the server name, sending the SQL Server administrator data along with the request, taking out the Trusted_Connection=Yes... nothing works. What is going on here? How can this code work fine on my computer, and hiccup on another?

My problem is that when trying to print out a excel worksheet, after it has just beeen printed out onces. It gives me this error: "Object reference not set to an instance of an object", when trying to open the existing worksheet(the template)

I have finally figured out how to download a file with background worker and downloader. Now the form does not freeze.. I have only one problem left now... How do I get the progress bar to increment in tandem with the data flow? I have listed my full code below. I am currently using the AsyncFileUpload in my VB.NET web app. Locally it works perfectly, however on the server it fails to upload a small file (<9k). I can't even seem to debug this as in JavaScript handlers I have no idea as to how to get the error reason.
