How do I save a reduced size image with Exif data
I have an app that reduces images fo email which works fine but the save does not include the Exif metadata
How do I save a reduced size image with Exif data
I have written simple module in C#.Net which reads image property (i.e EXIF Data) and to do the same i have used below code:
[Code]....
i'm creating 64 button dynamically during run time. and from database i'm getting the description, font color, back color and picture path. and if the picture path is not nothing, then i need to display that picture in that button. if picture path is nothing, then need to display the description as button text using font color and back color.
this button values are not loaded only once. using button click Addhandler, each button values keeps on changing each time.
The Code i used to display is
Code:
For Each c As Control In Controls
If c.Name = "ItemBtn-" & x Then
c.Text = ButtonText
[Code].....
while i run the program, the image is diplaying in correct button if picture path exist and button that didn't have the picture path is displaying the text.
but the image is not fitting inside the Button. i can see only half of the image. i need a way to make the Image stretched or reduced to fit inside button.
I am developing a Open/Save dialog that has reduced access to the system (no editting, moving or deleting existing files and folders). I have been succesful at achieving these goals now and I only have one thing left to tackle, but I can't figure it out yet.I want to change the things that are displayed in the top combobox. I want "My Computer" to be the top element and then show specified hard drives beneath it.
I have achieved all my previous goals by using hooks into the default dialogs and I wonder if my last problem could be solved in the same way.
I have an owner-drawn control where performance is an issue during quick repaints such as object drags, resizing and painting the selector square. i have noticed that several other apps, including Picasa, will temporarily draw a reduced-quality image during fast repaint scenarios and then update the image with a higher-quality version when the UI "settles down."
How should I (can I?) produce a lower-quality image to paint when many quick redraws are taking place? Are there other strategies similar to this i can employ to increase performance (or fake increased performance.) [code]...
That works fine, but the highlighted line creates a new bitmap, so the exif metadata are not exported to the resized image.
Is there a way to resize a picture without loosing exif data?
Creating a new bitmap with the new size is the only way to resize a picture?
how i can reduce image size to save in a database.
View 3 RepliesI use some code to successfully resize and save images - but I want to save the image to 800x800 px size on a canvas of 900x900px so it has a white border type thing around it.
View 8 RepliesI am working on a project where I create image files from calculations done from user inputs. The work is saved as jpg images in various sized and I want to add EXIF data to the saved filed and later on retreive these data again so the user can continue working on the basis of a re-opened image file as I hope to store the project variables as metadata in the image file.
View 1 RepliesHow can I access the EXIF data stored in a Nikon NEF file? I can't seem to find a lib that will allow me to extract some basic information from the metadata. (Preferably without having to install the Nikon codec)
View 1 RepliesI have just found that if a DataGridView image column's size (height & width - in pixels) is smaller than the image's original size (in my case all images are exactly 180 x 180 pixels) at the time the cell is populated then the image is automatically being converted to a lower resolution I assume to fit the image completely within the size of the cell). How can I stop the automatic scaling of the image?
The image below show the same file displayed twice, both at 60x60 pixels ('Thumbnail' column) and a blowup of the image (PictureBox populated via the CellMouseEnter event) to it's right. You'll notice the resolution of the first blowup is far less the the second. so, what made the difference in the resolution of the blowups is? In the second blowup's case I'd first stretched the image column's width to ~180 pixels and set the row height to match (via the ColumnWidthChanged event) then populated the DataGridView then stretched the image column to 60 pixels (its minimum).
I am working with vb.net and want to increase the size of image when the cursor is over that image, but the image should come back to its original size when the cursor leaves that image area.I've used the following code to increase the size of image:[code]I've used the default size class but, it gives some different dimensions.by the code that brings the image into its original size that I've been declared into the picture box properties.

View 2 RepliesI am trying to split the image into 9 equal regions , and the below code does it well the problem is i want to get the selected image size and not picturebox sizeso what should i change to get the selected image size instead of picture box sizei dont want the picture box to grow in size with image because it will hide other buttons/textboxes etc
Dim xi As Integer = (PictureBox1.Image.Height)
Dim yi As Integer = PictureBox1.Image.Width

View 5 RepliesI'm having issues with the way I've been reading my image datatype blobs from my SQL database (code below). This code works fine when I access this page directly. The PDF will open and works just fine. However, when I try to use this page to download a file and save it to the file-system programmatically, it fails (500 server error) and I've verified that it's the same URL either way.So, my question is what is the best way to download a file from a database image datatype and save it to disk?PDF.aspx

I have the following code found on internet:
Const WM_CAP_START = &H400S
Const WM_CAP_EDIT_COPY = WM_CAP_START + 30
'The first step is to recognize that the video captured by the web cam can be saved as individual images. By displaying a series of continuous images on the client, it is similar to watching a video stream. To capture an image, I have defined the following subroutine:
'---save the video data into the Image global variable---
Public Sub CaptureImage()
Dim data As IDataObject
Dim bmap As Image
Dim ms As New IO.MemoryStream()
'---copy the image to the clipboard---
[Code] .....
The problem is the code fail to retrieve the image from clipboard? What I'm trying to do is connect to a webcam, then save the video stream file on this webcam as bitmap file before transfer to the client side as an array of bytes.
I have a form which contains an Image control. What I am trying to do is find a way to adjust an image according to the size of the control and have the image look normal no matter how I adjust the Image control. I want the actual image to fill the Image control completely and not loose any integrity.

Snippet 1:
For Each sheet In WB.Sheets
wbSheetNames.Add(sheet.Name)
Next sheet
Snippet 2:
For i = 0 To sheetNames.Count - 1
wb.Sheets(i + 2).Name = sheetNames(i).Replace(currMonth, nextMonth)
Next
[code]....
Is there some construct or method that can do these in 1 line?
Note:All the snippets are different and should not be clubbed. These are the situations where I think there might be a smarter way of doing these simple tasks.
I'm writing a Cleint/Host program that sends a image over tcp (from printscreen, not a file) to the host. Everything seems to work fine and the image is transmitted and displayed in a picturebox plus saved to a folder. The problem is when the printscreen is bigger than 176040 B. First the limit was 128000B but after setting the sendbuffersize and recivebuffersize to 1000kb the limit is 176040 B. Could it be a limit in the tcp protocol?
Here's the client code

View 8 RepliesI am "weeks new" to visual basic 2008 but I was hoping that someone might tell me how I can open an image in whatever type of "visible" graphics window (always positioned at: x=0 y=0); move to some "definable position" of interest x=(n) y=(n); change the brightness of that "individual pixel" by some "definable means of measure" from its original state; and save the new image as a separate image file?
View 4 RepliesI hoping to find a current and simple way to do this. I'm using VWD Express 2008 and SQL Express 2008.I'm able to get the client's path to the image file using an asp:FileUpload control on the web form.
How do I upload the client's image file and display it in the web form's image control?How do I save it to the sqlserver? The image table is already set up with a "Image" data type column. Can the image be saved to the database as simply as other data types?
I have my form set up to be able to be kept on top if the user so chooses. When it is set to be kept on top, I want the opacity to be reduced when the form loses focus. When I set opacity on init, it works fine. When I use this code, it doesn't work:
Private Sub Form1_LostFocus(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.LostFocus
Me.Opacity = 0.2
End Sub

Maybe I misunderstand how LostFocus and GotFocus work, but according to MSDN this appeared to be what I wanted.

View 3 RepliesI'm a VB beginner.I've been playing with Graphics.DrawString by watermarking a picture with a text string. The picture below to the left comes from PictureBox with a text string drawn with Graphics.DrawString. The font style used is Arial 48 points, regular, I think. The picture in PictureBox shows just as I configure. Great... The resolution of the original Terri Hatcher picture is 300 dpi (300 x 300). Exporting this picture with Graphics.DrawString, I get the picture below to the right. The text string appears a lot bigger than previously shown in PictureBox. It turns out that the text size varies, depending on the resolution of the original picture. That's kind of odd. I develop several graphics applications in a different environment and have never seen this sort of graphics.drawstring thing. Anyway,
my sample application seems to draw a text string at an image resolution of
