i developed an application which takes input from drop down list and then creates files when we click on that button for specified value in dropdownlist.And if we click on send button it sends to remote database.All the application is working fine. Can any one suggest me how to run this application without user interaction.I dont have any idea about task scheduler, people said it can be done with task scheduler.

I have 2 drop down lists and 1 submit button. It works such that after the user has selected values from BOTH the drop down lists, then the user will click a "Search" button. My problem is, after the user click the "Search" button, the second drop down list is no longer displayed with the selected value, instead it displayed a default value. May I know how can I make sure the selected value remain selected even after the user clicks the "Search" button on the page?

For a class assignment I created an application that takes grades from the user via input box and adds them to an array called grades. Here is some of the code.

My problem is that the variable x is an integer and the user input from the InputBox is a string so I get the error: "Option Strict On disallows implicit conversion from 'String' to 'Integer'.I've already submitted this assignment with out the first three lines of code (which allows the code to run flawlessly), but I would like to know how to get around the error while still using the Option Strict On parameter. I am aware of the ToString method but I am not sure of how to use it here or even if it will work here. I've tried to use in a few variations but none worked.

I want it so when I click a button it takes the text from a texbox and finds the id or name that is stored in a .accdb file. I have an asp drowndownlist and I'd like to change its selection after a button click. I can't seem to find a way to do this, is there a way? (Its a reset button of sorts, and I would like the dropdownlist to return to the "default" value.)

I have to hidden buttons on my page that I can trigger using JavaScript (__dopostback...). I also have a list of object on my page and a dropdownlist giving the user the possibility to sort those objects on the page. My code checks the current value of the dropdownlist on Databind of the list and applies the chosen sort method to the list. The first button is triggered when the user has selected another sort method from the list.
The second button is triggered when the user adds a new item to the list. Sortmethod "sort2" should be set automatically in the dropdownlist if this happens. So when the second button has been clicked, I need to set the selected item of the dropdownlist dynamically so I can check the value of the selected value later in the DataBind method of the dropdownlist and know what sort method should be applied.
I don't succeed in changing the selected value dynamically. I'm using to controls: First is the objects.vb and the second is the ObjectContainer.vb. Objects.vb contains the two buttons, the dropdownlist and an instance of the objectcontainer. The objectcontainer contains the list with objects that needs to be sorted based on the value selected in the objects control.

I looked at "How do I place an image with a mouse-click in Javascript?" but it had a small snippet of Java; immensely larger than my knowledge of Java. And that is the closest I've come to finding an answer in the past week. Here's what I would like to do (don't know if its even possible):
I have a panel and a toolstrip with 3 buttons. Each button represents a different image. I want to click on a button (once) and then move into the panel and everytime I click the mouse button it drops the image where ever I clicked. This only ends when either I click back on the same button or one of the other buttons. I do not want to drag an image into the panel each time. In other words the button stays depressed and the event/action stays active.

I've done this multiple times in VB and VB.net, but this one button is giving me terrible issues in just clicking it.

I've been working on a program that takes input from a textbox, removes the punctuation, puts the words into an array (using the split method), and compares the array against a reversed copy of itself to determine if it is a word palindrome or not. I understand the logic, but I'm getting kind of caught up as far as what code to us. This is what I have so far, but no matter what I enter into the text box, nothing happens. I'm trying to make a form that takes user input 3 times, and each time compares it to the correct Answer... which is an array of {"C", "D", "A"}.Each time the user's input matches the correct answer ("strCorrectAnswer()"), then I'll add 1 point to intUserScoreCounter. I'm wondering why this code is returning an error (hilighted in blue)? Can I not compare a String to an Array?

I have a small doubt here. Actually on my current windows form, on the button click, I want the user to be given an option to choose a picture, a sound and text.What I have been able to do is to use the Open File Dialog to choose a picture OR sound OR button on Click event. I want three of them to be chosen together. Do I have to open another form and choose the three files from there? If yes, Is it the only way?

I have 1 picture box, and 1 image list with 11 pictures in it. I also have 1 button.
Heres what I want to happen:
I click on the button and the first image in my image list goes into the picture box.
I click the button again and the second image in my image list replaces the first image in the picture box.
I click the button again and the third image in my image list replaces the second image in the picture box.

I have created an shareware application using vb.net visual studio 2008 for windows desktop, and packaged it using innosetup 5.3.8. The problem is when i have installed the application in C:Program FilesApplication and it runs successfully(use trial period of the application), Im also able to install the application once again freshly with the same setup by installing in different directory.eg C:Program FilesApplication new . The application in C:Program FilesApplication new does not have any settings of the already installed one.
Where do i went wrong . Do i need to take care of this in my application(vb.net) or innosetup. How to take care of the already installed path in innosetup or carry the settings of already installed application to newly installed path by upgrading the older one.
I dont want to write any thing in registry because the application does not want any administrative permission requirements.If i install the application in same path it gets updated with the older settings being taken over to this new one and it works fine.

url...I've got a drop down inside an update panel, and I am trying to get it to allow the person using the page to add users to a list that is bound to a gridview. The list is a global variable, and on page_load I set that to the gridview's datasource and databind it. However, anytime I click the 'add a user' button, or the button to remove the user from the list. It appears like it is doing a full post back even though all these elements are inside the update Panel.[code]Now I thought the point of an update panel was to be able to update things inside of it without doing a full post_back and reloading the page. So if that's the case, why is it calling page_load everytime I click the buttons? I ran this code and debug and I see that even before any of the code associated with button press fires, page_load runs again.I tried putting the gvAssociatedUser.Datasource = associatedFaculty and the line below inside the Page.IsPostBack check, that prevented the page from working. I tried every combination of settings of the update panel for ChildrenAsTriggers and UpdateMode, and none of them worked.
I've tried won't get it to work.It wasn't causing a full postback so I was wrong as to the cause. I thought the page was doing a full post back thus resetting my associatedFaculty list global variable, but it isn't doing a full postback.The issue I am having is everytime I click btnAddUser it will add one element to the associatedFaculty list and thus bound to gvAssociatedusers. This works the first time, but the second time I click it, it overwrites the first element. So it appears like my associated Faculty list is getting reset each time I click the button?
