and well it sort of works to what I want but don't know were to go from there.. what I read from another post was that I had to do something with "NotifyIcon Class" but still didn't know what to do with that or where to put the code.
Basically what I want the program to do is minimize to system tray and a tooltip will pop up when I hover my mouse over it and display something that I want. Also when I right click the icon I would like some options to be displayed so that I could program it to close.

View 9 RepliesI am developing an app that uses a sql backend database (hosted on a different machine).The app I am developing will be run on 10 different workstations simultaneously.Sometimes the app will change the database in such a way that the database needs to initiate a workflow process and I'm not sure of the best way to do this.Also, when database changes happen, how does one best notify the other app instances that the change has happened, so they know to refresh their data? I was thinking that triggers could help initiate the workflow but it might be nice to develop the actual workflow in .net code.Should I write another App to run as a service on the server and do the work and also to tell the client apps when things change?

My main problem is that although i have most of what is working i need to find a formula to give the full result (overall price) in a label. My other problem is the fact that when i interact with my form certain things dont auto refresh when i change certain values e.g i change number of seats but it doesn't auto refresh the price or anything OR i click one discount then another but nothing changes and it keeps the old value.
Okay in my menu i have a CombBox (ComboBoxScreen) for choosing the film and there are 3 films to choose from in the drop menu each with their own price. I also have a Textbox (NumberSeats) for inputting a number of seats you want to book for chosen film. And lastly there are 3 radio buttons each with different discounts. e.g No discount, 10% off and 25% off. A formula to work out the overall price uses all three functions/tools above. [Code]
I have to do some maintenance on an old VB.NET application (Visual Studio 2003) that uses Infragistics NetAdvantage 2006. I have a UltraCombo control binded to a DataView.
How can I refresh the content displayed after a change in the database?
When using VB.Net (2008) and paused in debugging, Edit-And-Continue is a great time-saver. However if you change any module/class-level information (variable, sub/function signature, etc), you get the error message like this:
"unable to apply this change while debugging"
While I can understand the technical challenge to making this work (and why it would be hard), it leaves me in a tight spot with just a few options:
1) Restart and recompile and get the program back to the same state
2) Continue debugging without making the change, and risk forgetting
3) Type up a reminder note to make the change All of which are annoying.Now I know that option '4) Just actually make the change' may not be possible. but does anybody know how to enable the following 'technically easy' possibility?
4) Let me change the code, get it flagged with the purple squiggly underline, so I can save it, but just ignore the change until recompile

Basically the forum size is set to 600x2000 but the client should only allow you to view 600x600. I want it to add +1 once you "collide with a invisable box I'll add and this will redraw the screen.
I designed a form and managed to fit graphics inside it. Picture box is 465 pixels high. Form1 is 500 pixels high. SnapShot of the screen verifies that the 500 pixel height is the overal height. It includes the upper Bar and lower frame. Is there an instruction to set the From's inner pixel size and not overal?

It has an "Add to Order" button which takes the values entered and updates the database, then closes the popup and refreshes the parent. This currently works perfectly using window.opener.document.forms[0].submit();self.close(); in a RegisterScriptBlock
I now need to update the database on gridview page chage so that textbox values are not lost. I put window.opener.document.forms[0].submit(); into the PageIndexChanging event of the datagrid, but it does not refresh the parent window. Refreshing the parent window with the order lines helps the user see what they have already ordered. My update database method runs fine, just not the parent browser refresh.
