Asp.net - HTML - Scrollbars Not Appearing Via Window.open
Jul 5, 2009
I have a VB.NET web application where I am opening a window when a user clicks on a link to view some external tabular data. The data I'm displaying definitely requires a vertical scrollbar in order to see everything...For some reason I cannot get a vertical scrollbar to show up when the new window loads. Here's the JS that opens the window:
I'm letting my users write their own HTML from my webpage. When they click the preview button, my code behind needs access to controls on the page (and so I understand I can't use a web method here). It builds the HTML and saves it as a file on the server. My question is: Once the file has been made, I want to automatically open the file in a new window for the user to see their handy work. I'm using vb.net, but happy to receive c# answers.
I use the binding navigator in my application, but when the resolution of the display gets to small and I have to use the scrollbars I get a problem. the scrollbars automatically scrolls down below the navigator bar instead of showing it when the window loads.
if you guys have used office 2003 or better( i am sure all) then you would have seen that when the help window open it causes the active windows say of MS WORD to change accordingly so that this help windows fits with it along the right side and this functionality i want to implement in my VB windows application and have no idea how to do it Also i have seen this feature in GOOGLE DESKTOP GADGETS...
i want to implement that when my application opens which ever is the active window( of any application) snaps to the left and allows my application to fir in the right hand side i am developing my application in VS 2005 using Visual Basic.
Since reinstalling VS2010, it has not been displaying proper debug info. I don't think I changed any settings but I have had a hunt through the options and can't see anything I might have messed up. I have had a quikck search and other people seem to have had the same problem but no solution. I'm running Windows 7 x64 with latest updates, if that matters.
I currently have a parent Listview and its child Listview displaying in the centre column of an HTML page that consists of three columns left, centre and right. And all looks very good. However I would like to display the child list view in the right column beside the parent list view.
To do this it seems I must somehow generate from the code behind page a new row in the table every time the parent Listview displays a record of its data and then some column HTML so the first child list view will appear in the right hand column.
I am trying to pass query string from one page to popup window as follow:
Dim popupScript As String = "window.open('cFinder.aspx?cName=" & c_TextBox.Text & "','', 'width=420,height=200,menubar=no,scrollbars=yes');" If (Not Page.ClientScript.IsStartupScriptRegistered("popup")) Then
I have create a project with one main form window and also i have to use a number of other forms as well. now i want to open these other forms inside the main window and not outside. I'm using Visual Studio .NET 2010 as developing environment.
When I run project splashscreen is popup and then Logon window is run. But unfortunately when Logon window is run the splashscreen still open like maximized window and I cannot see Logon window. How to fix that problem?
Private Sub LinkClicked(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) Dim link As HtmlElement = WebBrowser1.Document.ActiveElement Dim url As String = link.GetAttribute("href") [code]...
Okay so here's the question how do I get the links that open in a new window to open in my main webbrowser control. The above code does some, but it's not fool proof.
I like to open a file. The open option should be shown in a separate window. My code works fine but the open window is not displaying to open a file. Here is the code:
I am making a browser and i have putted tabs in it too. But when i click "open in new window" in my browser the internet explorar pops up. I want my browser window to pop up. Secondly the "open in new tab" option is not avaliable when i right click a link. How to make it avaliable and the new tab should open in my browser(not internet explorar)
I've made a HTML editor application which includes some features found in Microsoft FrontPage(and Microsoft Expression Web). The only thing is that I now want to add a Designer Window like that in FrontPage(or Expression Web) where users can produce HTML pages dynamically.I do have a Code Window but need a Designer Window. My Code Window includes all features syntax highlighting capability, IntelliSense(like), etc
On clicking button in asp.net web page on button click event html is generated from xml and xsl. This html is stored as string variable. For example lets say dim htmlString as string = "<div>This is my popup</div>"From the above html string how can I dynamically create html popup window in vb.net. I can create popup window on front end by using javascript but havent found any solution to create it through code behind file in vb.netEdit:This does not work in IE, only works in firefox:
Dim popupScript As String = _ "<script language='javascript'> myPopup() </script>" Dim mystring = "<html><body><div style=""color:black"">Name: Jame's</div></body></html>"
I have a funtion that returns a generated PDF file but the problem is it shows it in the current browser window... I need for it to open in a new window. I dont see how I can pass it into a view for displaying where I could simply use target: _blank.
Function showUserPDF(ByVal pdfName As String) As ActionResult Dim _fileName As String = pdfName Dim _path As String = Path.Combine(AppDomain.CurrentDomain.BaseDirectory) +
I was offered this interesting scenario by a visitor of my site and have been trying a few approaches, but not seeming to get it quite right. I have a Form with a WebBrowser control (or an AxWebBrowser if that works too) and on the page loaded in the browser, is a link that uses javascript to open a new popup window. This popup window I am unable to take "ownership" of and it launches in a new instance of the user's default browser (IE for this scenario). I need to then interact with that javascript popup window which now is not part of my application. If I needed to set a value of an input box on that form, how would I accomplish that if I can't "interact" with the form?
I use VS 2008 Visual Basic and I added windows forms HelpProvider to supply user with more information using F1 button when a windows form is active. No VB coding are used, just help provider and HTML docs. with css.I have created a HTML document and a picture. On both items I have set the [copy to output directory] property to Copy Always. The HTML document starts HTML page and IE is showing the text as expected , but the picture does not appear.I use click once deployment to deliver the system. The HTML documents and picture is located on the user computer after the deployment. How do I add path to a location in a win program with pictures used in a HTML document? What is the correct setting of [ build action ] parameter of these items?
I have a simple html file that i want to send to the printer (to print it) i don't want to view it or anything, i also don't want to use webbrowser control. I also don't want it to show me the printer dialog window (where i chose the printer, preferences etc...) Just a simple send to printer. how can i achieve that? Share your knowledge it's one way to achieve immortality.. [URL]
usually with C#, though the controls I'm using for this project are VB. Usually I work with programming backend robust applications, but of course when I do a simple website for a friend is when I cant figure out the problem. I'm using a VB master page for the site. The "wood" div is supposed to be a background image that repeats dynamically as far down as the page goes, but for some reason it only goes as far as the browser window height. The background-repeat:repeat-y doesnt seem to do anything, so I feel like the problem has to do with the CSS. Here's the master page:
<%@ Master Language="VB" CodeFile="Normal.master.vb" Inherits="Normal" %> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head>
I have a problem which I have not been able to find an answer to in months. I store word doc resumes as varbinary(max). I can retrieve the resumes based on a full-text search no problem. But the resumes are retrieved as word documents in a .ashx file with the following code. I really need to implement hit highlighting on the site so that users can see if the returned resume is a good fit or not.
I don't think this can be done from an .ashx file, so I think I need to be able to open the resume as html in an aspx page and maybe use javascript to do the hit highlighting or perhaps return the text only content of the word document somehow and manipulate the text before display with html tags.
I'm making a program that creates a url for an image and where the url originall comes from is where I want the new url to go, so how could I change the specific html for that image in the open web browser such as firefox. If you need to know the web site and the image here's a link to the page. Link here's the picture on the page I want to change here's the html for that image.
I have a project i am working on, I want to be able to make a choice in say a Treeview control, and in the code behind Click event i would like it to open a dynamic page in a new browser tab, My difficulty is that the Response.Redirect("http:xxx") opens it in the same browser tab that has focus i have tried to add Target=_blank but not certain if this is usable attribute of the response object, and i also believe if it did work it would be more like a pop-up than a new tab. i have searched for more than a week now and have found nothing that works.
Response.Redirect("~\PM\HTMLSched.htm") (opens the page in the same tab) 'Dim url = "~\PM\HTMLSched.htm"
