I've had a report from a user that whenever they go to edit their profile details, if they hit "Back" on their browser, any changes they may have made are saved, when they should only be saved by them clicking the "Save" button in the page.how can I prevent it?
View 2 RepliesI can do the basics when I put controls on a form but this one is a little more complex. I have an application that reads in a .TSV and populates a form with controls based on the number of objects it "reads." So for instance: I have a file that contains 10 people objects and my code populates a form with controls for each person. Easy stuff..Now lets say I have a ComboBox with the items: "Alive", "Deceased", "Unborn". Right next to this I have a textbox for age. Now originally, this textbox is not enabled because the default value for the ComboBox is "Unborn". But lets say when the user selects "Alive", I want that textbox to become enabled so an age can be entered.Obviously from me asking this and the title of this question, I don't know how to go about doing this. I don't really understand events and I learn by example but the MSDN examples don't quite cut it.

When I click the browser back button to go back to the page it says the page has expired. the other pages on my web site work and call the page load, the only solution i found but cant use is to wrp the whole page in an update panel, but i cant do this becuase i have a report viewer on the page that does not work with ajax.

I am new to vb 2008, but I know how to automate some html elements. The issuse that I running into is that I cannot get my webbrowser1 to auto-click the "Gmail" button at the top left of the page or the "Show me my account" button on the righthand side of the webpage. I am building a simple proxy in server vb.NET and so far it has been successful, but then whenever i receive data from the internet and write it back to my browser's network stream using NetworkStream.Write the received data tends to come up slowly to my browser due to reasons i do not know of. But when I chain my application to another Proxy/listener on my local computer (e.g Privoxy), data seems to come up very fast to my browser. If anyone has an answer to this I would really love to know.btw here is the part of my code {subroutine} that receives data and forwards to my browser.

I'm adding a SDE feature class into ArcMap and before it adds in I have to click the ok button on the "Connection Details" Window. Is there a way to click the ok button by code? I was thinking maybe it could be done by using Window notification code (e.g. code below), however I'm not seeing any option for button click Ok or Cancel. Maybe it could be done by "Windows.Forms.DialogResult.Ok" somehow or by getting the focus of the ok button? [Code]

View 2 RepliesIn my project,I used the wizard in VB.NET2008 Express to connect to my database. I have a data connector, adapter, and dataset controls on my form. I have been able to load the information into the dataset, and used the datCustomers.Customers.AddCustomersRow to add a new row to the dataset with information.
I now want to save the updated dataset to the database. I have tried using the adapterCustomers.Update(datCustomers) command to no avail. how to save the dataset to the database?
What I have is a form I click on and it draws two ovals on the screen. I haven't formatted the second oval yet but is will color itself and place itself with conditions I have yet to create. What I'm stuck on is I need a way to save my work. Then Open it when I return or wish to see what I did. I am using the SaveFileDialog and OpenFileDialog to set/get the file but what I am have issue with is the code needed to save all the Ovals on the page and redraw them. Can one of you give me some guidance? Do I need to create a Serializable Class to draw my ovals to start with and not use the Powerpacks.Shapes?
