Is there a way to look through the cache for all objects in the cache? I'm dynamically creating objects and I need to periodically go through the list to purge out objects I'm no longer using.

I have an asp.net project that's compiled on a server. On that same server I have a windows service that's running methods referenced from the asp.net .dll. Everything works fine except for when the httpcontext.current object needs to be accessed. I'm fairly certain that the cause of the .current being null is that it's referencing the shared library without an actual instance of the site running. In a previous version of the service I was able to find a workaround in asp.net by not using the context, however that is now a last resort as much of the architecture of the site has changed. Is there anyway to create an instance of the site and simulate a current httpcontext for the purposes of the service?

I added a Response Header like this:- HttpContext.Current.Response.AddHeader("key1", "value1")
After some functional flow I required to add value to same "key1": HttpContext.Current.Reponse.AddHeader("key1, "value2")
thus value in Response Headers look like this:- key1 : value1, value2
I want to avoid the value2 addition to the same keyword key1.
I tried:-

But I got the error: This operation requires IIS integrated pipeline mode at HttpContext.Current.Response.Headers("key1")

2003I've implemented Forms Authentication on one particular subfolder on one of my sites. My code works perfectly on my development machine, but there is a slight problem on the live server.If you browse to the admin subfolder, if you are not authenticated, you will be redirected to the login page. The Master Page footer also contains a link to the login page; when the user logs in, that link is supposed to change to a link to the admin page:

This works fine on my dev PC, but on the live server, IsAuthenticated() returns False, and thus the Login link is not replaced by the Admin link. However, if browse to the admin subfolder, I can access the content fine; there is no redirection to the login page.

I have a function GetAllProducts() which fetches all products from a database and stores it in the cache for future requests. This works fine, but if I then call the function e.g. ProductSearchResults = GetAllProducts(), and then modify ProductSearchResults variable, this also modifies the cache, which is very important this never happens, as the cache affects the whole website.
I understand this is because both ProductSearchResults and the cache now have the same reference, but how do I solve the problem? Is there something that I can put in GetAllProducts() to ensure the cache always uses its own value?

Limited to using v2.0 of .Net framework (we use VB.net) due to environmental constraints on our servers.I've got an ASP.net webpage which pulls data from a webservice that performs checks on user accounts in active directory. Operators can check multiple accounts at one time using the web interface. The webservice returns a list(of AccountCheck) objects which themselves contain single properties like username, email address, and List(of AccountError) objects which contain multiple properties.[code]What I want to do is using some kind of repeater, create multiple panels or divs which contain labels showing the username, email etc, and a gridview which has the accounterror list bound to it to show all the errors. The users could be checking 2, 5, 7 accounts at once, and is dynamic.

I currently have a web application project that also includes web services within the same project. I currently have a requirement to call the web service asynchronously. Since, I haven't added the web service as a web reference within the same project, I tried to call the web service method using delegates and I see an exception "HttpContext is not available. I need to be able to add elements to a copy of mylist.testlist without modifying the global mylist object. (Which seems to be happening via the below code.)When I am working on x, which should be a totally separate object, mylist is getting modified as well. How can I fix this? I have worked with lists extensively and never seen this behavior before. I have tested and reproduced the problem in .NET 3.5 and .NET 4.0 on Win 7 Pro 32bit.

View 1 RepliesI am having a problem when setting VB.NET list object to another.I create an instance on ReadLocations and than create an object of ReadLocation where then I loop through ReadLocations and set ReadLocation1 equal to rl. What happens is that if I then go and change ReadLocation1 to something else (assdfhsd) it will also change the ReadLocations index. I am really confused why it would be doing that unless it is "=" sign means referencing instead of actually setting the value. Please help as I am a C# developer but the program I am modifying is in VB.NET.[code]

I am trying to find a method of listing all fonts installed on a system. I attempted to use the InstalledFontsCollection, but it doesn't seem to list all of the fonts. I am not going to use the fonts. I just need to verify that the fonts exist on the system so that I can pass them to an external tool that does see and use the fonts.
