I am creating dynamic text boxes on button click and then showing values on another button click. It works fine until I use ajax updatepanel. In that case values are not shown when I hit second button. My aspx code is:

I have a fully dynamiclly generated page that has a set of linkbuttons basically switching views in a UpdatePanel. All that is working great except for when I have a button that is generated that needs to invoke a function to manipulate the data in the Update Panel.

So the problem is when the page_init is executed it does not know which linkbutton was selected so it never recreates the button and in turn never fires the event. I have seen people use the session to store the list of controls and/or the current frame but I don't see that as an acceptable solution. Surely there has to be a way to do this.Is there no way I can get the ScriptManager's current/previous step information outside of the Navigate event?Asp.net 4.0 with latest ajax toolkit.
I am having trouble binding data to data repeater when I use ISyncResult.This is what I am doing.There is a button inside a Update Panel that gets the input from the user and calls a function that returns a dataset that I then bind to data repeater which is also inside a update panel.What I did is that I made a delegate to this function, now I am calling this function like this

I am having hard time figuring out why the data repeater is showing no data.While debugging this I see that the dataset is getting the data and is passing the the "ds" but nothing is showing up on my page even though the data is being passed to controls inside data repeater while I am debugging.
I have an asp.net gridview that is originally bound to a sqldatasource control, but when the user presses an external button, it instead gets the contents of a datatable rather than a SQLdatasource control. I therefore had to write code in the PageIndexChanging event of the gridview to allow for paging. My code is as follows:

This worked beautifully until I added an AJAX update panel so the whole page wouldn't postback every time it paged, and paging stopped working. I debugged it and discovered that it is actually calling the PageIndexChanging event, but nothing is happening. I searched the web and found a few people with the same problem, but their solutions did not work for me. There was one on this site whose problem was solved by the following:
In PageIndexchanging event, where you bind data to grid, make sure, data is again fetched from the DB
I don't know what that means; my data was being bound as demonstrated above. I have "enable paging" set to true and EnableSortingAndPagingCallbacks set to false.

I am trying to trying to setup an updatepanel to update every X seconds, the problem is I don't want the control to actually refresh unless there is new data. So I currently have a child updatepanel in a parent UpdatePanel, the child updatepanel gets refreshed by a timer. But I can't seem to find a way to trigger the parent panel to update. Again, only when certain conditions(data changed) are met.

To adapt this for the project, after searching for snippets online, I've tried to add dynamic insertion of a label as a start (eventually, it should be a textbox that the user, in runtime, can enter text into, save, re-open, edit). But, I can't get this to work. No errors display, but I must be doing something wrong.

I started editing an existing code (basicaly to learn vb) without any real previou experience. Well let's get to the point; I have a form that gathers data from db ordering by user ID (on click count). I have one DataGridView with a list of user, some have data in db, some have not. I came so far that if I CLICK on a user that have data, all data is dissplayed in 6 dinamyc textboxes. If user has no data inly first (emty) row with 6 dinamyc textboxes is created.
Then I have a button that simultaneously adds a row of dinamyc textboxes bellow and multiplyies textbox04 (name is clickcount & 4) and textbox05 and displays the result in textbox06. I want to add a messagebox that shows if textbox04 & 05 are empty and in that case exits sub. Of course if they are not empty, their sum should be multiplyed in textbox06 (on 2 decimal places exact) Here is my code so far:

What I need to know is how to get the texts from however many tabpage's textboxes there are and combine them into one textbox, as a sort of receipt.

I have a web page with 5 checkboxes and 2 textboxes per checkbox. When the user checks one or more checkboxes the corresponding textboxes become enalbed for UI. I need to insure that the input for the textboxes is an integer-that I will do with a validators. There is a gridView on the same page. When the user checks one or more checkboxes the 2 columns of the gridView rows become active for input through enabled textboxes.
There are 4 columns in the grid. The minimum number of rows enabled are 2 and the maximum are 26. The UI for the grid's textbox input is numbers. Those numbers have to be equal to or less than the total. How do I validate UI of numbers(integers) into the grid's dynamically generated textboxes and then add the total and compare it to the alloted total? I prefer to do this with the code behind - using VB.NET - rather than with ASP.NET or absolutely not javascript.

I'm just getting back into programming after a few years break and I'm a little clueless as to how I would achieve a small part of a project to get my back into the swing of things.Basically we have a command that sets what the machine does at a certain time of the day. This command has a limit of 8 steps and always has to equal 1440 (24hrs).An example of this command would be: 001*A*480*B*60*C*600*A*300
So this would do..
"A" during 00:00-08:00
"B" till 09:00
"C" till 19:00
"A" till 24:00
I can do the easy part i.e. split them up but I would like someway of dynamically creating another text box if they dont add up to 1440 (I am okay with doing dynamic text boxes and have the findcontrol stuff i guess its just updating the x and y axis on the boxes below so it looks neat?)
I could do 8 textboxes etc but we can have upto 8 of these commands wanting to display on one tab.

I have a windows application that dynamically loads DLLs using Reflection.Assembly.LoadFrom(dll_file_name_here).
It works as expected, until I ILMerge the application with another DLL.
So this scenario works fine:
MyApp.exe
MyAppComponent.dll
Plugin.dll
Once I ILMerge MyApp.exe and MyAppComponent.dll resulting in:
MyApp.exe
Plugin.dll
Calling Reflection.Assembly.LoadFrom("Plugin.dll") seems to load successfully, however once I try to do anything with it eg:
foreach ( typeAsm in Reflection.Assembly.LoadFrom("Plugin.dll"))
I get an exception "unable to load one or more of the requested types. retrieve the loader exceptions property for more informtion".
The frustrating thing is I can't really debug it, because debugging pre merging works perfectly!
I am new to VB. I use Visual Studio 2010. I got most of my rental program to work, but I am having trouble with the easy part. The First Name and Last Name are supposed to combine to the FullName. I know I have to use the assigning textbox text to the the variables. I haven't had much luck to to that.

I have a page with Ajax Tab controls, within one of the tabs is a webcontrol that as a Telerik RadGrid, with Edit forms pointing to another web control. That edit form also contains Ajax Tabs and on one of those tabs, there is an Ajax modal popup of yet another webcontrol.The initial webcontrol works fine when used on it's own page, but the edit form fails to appear when the control is used within the Ajax Tabs as desired. The script manager is throwing the following error:
Microsoft JScript runtime error: Sys.InvalidOperationException: Could not find UpdatePanel with ID 'xxx'. If it is being updated dynamically then it must be inside another UpdatePanel.
When i put

I'm currently having an issue where an updatepanel does an async postback and loses the tab order when the partial postback occurs.When you run through the tabs the tab order works correctly, but then you press a button and the partial postback occures the tabindex is reset.
