Mar 1, 2011Does anyone know of a good rich text editor control? I am looking for something that can take either, plain text, rtf and html. I want to be able to edit the text. It would AWSOME if it can convert rtf to html and html to rtf. I have tried the C1 and that was bad. It does not read rtf and does not convert anything. And it was really slow.

Aug 13, 2011I need to find a Windows forms Text edit which can handle MS Word documents correctly.That is documents with Images, textboxes etc (.doc, .docx).I have tried Devexpress Xtrarichedit and TXText Control but when you load a MS Word Document (.doc, .docx) the document does not appear as it does in MS Word.That is Textboxes overlapping images are misaligned or have no transparent background option, so the white background of the textbox hides part ot the image.Has anybody had experience with 3rd party Document .net editors which mamage MS Word Documents correctly?

Apr 18, 2007I built a game that has three forms (the game, player info, and scoreboard). When you die the Player form shows and has a text box for the user to into their name and then they click submit. After they click submit the Scoreboard form shows and their name and score is showed in disabled text boxes. Also in the Scoreboard form are two List boxes (one for their name, and one for their score). The list boxes are connected to the database through a databinding by dragging them over from DataSources into the form.
I would like for the information in the Name text box and Score text box to automatically be inserted into the database when the Scoreboard form is loaded.How do you insert text from a textbox into a database?the Name is the first column in the database and the Score is the second column in the database.

Jul 11, 2009I using MS Access 2003 Database with VB.NET.
I have wrote a SQL statement to insert the RichTextBox(RTB)'s text into the Access DB but got error saying syntac error. I cannot figure out what went wrong.
When inserting data for RichTextBox, i use the TEXT property- rtb.Text . usign rtb.RTF also got error. The data type in Access is :Memo ( to store larger size text ).
INSERT INTO company (compName, compDesc ) VALUES ('" TxtName.Text "' ,'" rtb1.Text "' )
Is anything wrong with this SQL for RichTextBox?
When i remove the rtb1.TExt and just insert data for the 'compName', no error found on syntax.

Feb 19, 2010I have 2 modules and 2 forms. In the module1, I initiated the form classes and also here I have my public appexit() method.In module2, I have another class(in the form of a keyboard done by code). Form2 use this class as its control.I have:

Let me briefly list down the steps i took to achieve my result.
1) Insert data into Database using text file
2) Display the records from the NEW Database(Item2) using DataGridView
3) Using datagridview, i use to checkboxes to determine the selectedRow
4) Once the selectedRow are selected. I press on Delete Button
Delete Button - Update the Item2 Table field 'Deleted' to 1 - Delete the ItemID by using datagridview selectedrow cell value Which means in 1 loop, i process two database transaction.. Is there something wrong? How do i shorten the process to just delete the item without querying two database.

Should I have each tab / text document open up in a new thread or a process? I basically want the entire application to always run fast as the text editor is just one part of it. If I have several large text files open I don't want the rest of the application slowing down a bit.

Dec 31, 2009I'm adding a method to find and select text in my text editor. Everything worked fine, including the ability to find all instances of the text. My problem came when I tried to make it more user-friendly (doesn't it always?). Originally I had only a menu item with a shortcut( Ctrl + F) which invoked an input box.
Then I added a textbox and a button (similar to that seen in a web browser's Find() method) that calls the method in the same manner as the Find/Replace menu option and displays the desired text in the textbox. Everything works fine except that the text is not selected. I have MessageBoxes displaying the values of required variables in 3 places (marked ***FOR DEBUG ONLY***) to make sure that no values are being changed, but all variables are the same. The method still locates the text, but it is not highlighted.
I think it could have something to do with which object has focus. (When I click the button, the selected text loses focus?). But if I click everything with the menu items, it still works...

I can't seem to find a good example of how to get the standard collection editor working for it at design time.I got it working using some example code I found to a degree, but the data in my collection doesn't get saved.
