Asp.net - Set Label Text To Total Row Count Of Gridview?
Jun 3, 2010
I'm using a stored procedure in a sql database as the data source for a SqlDataSourceControl on my .aspx page. I'm then using the SqlDataSourceControl as the data source for a gridview on my page. Paging is set to true on the gridview. What i would like to do is set the text of a label to the total number of rows in the gridview. I can use this code
'labelRowCount.Text = GridView2.Rows.Count & " layers found"
to return the number of results per page, but it doesn't give me the total.

I am working with VB 2008. I want to be able to run this program say in N: and it will show me in an excel sheet the following:
Folder Path Size(GB) Count of Files
N:Clients 0.53 308
where clients contains subfolders and files and the size is the total of all those files within each folder and the count is the total within each folder also.
This works fine as it is but i have to select one by one the top level folders and some of them are huge so it takes forever to give me an answer.
1) I would like to see in my spreadsheet the following by only select the network drive n:
Folder Path Size(GB) Count of Files
N:Clients 0.53 308
N:Software 10.7 15430
N:Billing 0.98 105
2) I would also like to know if this is the faster method.
3) I tried adding a progress bar so that the user can have an idea of how much this will take but i had to remove because it was not working.
4) I would like to see the folder name, size of folder and count of files in the listview.
Here is the code:
Imports Microsoft
Imports Microsoft.Win32
Imports Microsoft.Win32.Registry
Imports System.Collections
[code].....

The pay rates for the project are:
a. Level 1 - $10.00
b. Level 2 - $12.00
c. Level 3 - $14.00
d. Level 4 - $16.00
e. Benefit Deduction Rate - 0.10
f. Overtime Factor - 1.5
For ease of program maintenance, all of the above rates and factors must be stored in module level constants. All references to pay rates in the program must refer to the module level constants.
When the Calculate button is clicked:
a. The value in the Hours text box must be validated to insure that it is numeric value greater than zero.
1. If the value is not valid, a message box must appear as shown below and the user must be offered the option to continue processing or quit the program.
2. If the user chooses to continue processing, the focus must be set to the Hours text box.
3. If the user chooses to quit, the program must close immediately.
b. If the value is valid, the program must calculate and display the total pay in the Total Pay label.
1. The pay rate is determined by which Job Grade radio button is checked.
2. For hours less than or equal to 40, the total pay is the hours times the pay rate.
3. For hours greater than 40, the total pay is 40 hours times the pay rate plus the hours in excess of 40 hours times the pay rate times the Overtime Factor.
4. If the Full Time radio button is selected, the total pay must be reduced by the Benefit Deduction Rate.
5. The value displayed in the Total Pay label must be formatted with a dollar sign and with two decimal
places.
6. The focus must be set to the Hours text box.
Why i get an error when i try to run this code
Code:
Also the message box, both yes and no close the program.....

However in my opinion they require a lot of prior knowledge on how to programatically refer to each item.
Does anyone have a link to or can create a relatively basic example of how to achive a running total in the footer for an ASP:Gridview?

I am stuck on trying to get the sum of numbers to output to a label. I have a label box lblTcost that I would like to have the total of my list box lstCost placed into there. I have tried several things and keeps crashing or just not working at that part. I have used the debugger but since I know the line is wrong any ways that not helping. I though this line would work lblTcost.Text = lstCost.ToString("c") was the proper way but it isn't. Here is my completed code
Public Class Form1
Private Sub btnAdd_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnAdd.Click
'Declare values from both listboxes
Dim Day, Fee, Stay, Total As Integer

$('#cphMain_gdvSalesOrder').delegate('input:checkbox', 'click', function() {
var count = $('#cphMain_gdvSalesOrder').find('input:checkbox:checked').length;
Whereas I need to count all the checkboxes that are checked apart from the one in the header.

I am trying to make a simple form that will display a count when the users clicks a button. I want the count to be readable as the program loops the math. So as it adds 1 + 1, 1 + 2, 1 + 3, ect... I want each loop to display in the label. Below is the basic code I came up with, but I can not figure out how put a delay of something like 100 milliseconds in the loop. The idea is for the slower version of the basic count console app you learn in school and I basically need to slowdown the math and display the sum as the loop loops.
Below is my code.
Private Sub xButton_Click_1(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles xButton.Click
Dim xCount As Decimal ' Count
Dim xSum As Decimal ' Sum of loop
Do Until xSum >= 100 ' Limit the count
xCount += 1 ' Count by 1
xSum = xCount ' Sum = Count
xReadingLabel.Text = xSum ' Display Sum in Label
Loop
End Sub

I am having a mental block on how to work out a 15 minute timer that is shown on a label and counts down so that the user can watch it. I can do it just fine in seconds but I need to put it into the format of 15:00 and then have it count down the seconds and the the minutes when ever it drops 60 seconds. I found a few articles on using the dateNow syntax but that seems like it would only be good for adding time not subtracting it. Also I know I can set up a button to start and stop the timer but is it possible to use the space bar as the start/stop button?
